Me: no. How do I explain this… okay. Back when I was genderfluid, I would wake up every morning and it was like a wheel would spin inside of me. And whatever the wheel stopped on was my gender for the day. Granted, I experienced more genders than male and female, but you get the picture.

Me: not every day. Sometimes she’s female for a long period of time. Or vice versa with male. Some days he could even become a guy in the middle of a day.

Me: I’m pretty sure Alex was canonically born a boy. That’s why, soon, she says to Magnus that’s she’s genderfluid and transgender, because in some way she’s transfem. Or at least that’s how I interpret it.

Kids sitcom about a group of friends where all of them are a part of secret magical or superhero based underground society that don’t know about each other and they all think that the others are ignorant normies that they have to protect from their magical shenanigans.
The witch kid, the superhero sidekick, the cryptid hunter, and the half fairy kid are all unknowingly trying to hide the same talking cat from the principal of their school and the talking cat doesn’t tell any of them about each other because it’s currently getting many extra helpings of treats in exchange for its silence.
During the episode where they all find out about each other’s secret lives there’s obviously a slow look over to the cat who’s like “well you never asked. Anyways, completely unrelated but I’ve gotta go.”
As more seasons pass, it's eventually revealed the rich kid who bullies the main cast is secretly child of some dark lord all the societies fear and eventually the bully works with the main cast to defeat them in the series finale or movie

Really important. You cannot make one of the secret societies the "real" one that all other magic systems are derived from in some way.
The sci-fi explanations of super powers cannot fully explain the fairy magic, nor can the sci-fi superpowers tap into fairy magic energy cores. The witch's arcane knowledge cannot fully explain the existence of the cryptids. The fairy magic and the witch magic are fundamentally incompatible but both demonstrably effective.
After they all know each other, trying to decipher and/or argue about whose domain the monster of the week belongs to (and therefore whose foreknowledge about its strengths and weaknesses is most accurate) is a not irregular occurrence. Sometimes the monster is known in multiple domains and the conflicting information is somehow both correct. Sometimes the monster is definitively one aspect, and another appears to be, but there are errors or circumstances evidence. Sometimes the monster is a secret third thing that doesn't properly fit any of them.

It is an unspoken rule among the more powerful members of the hero community that whenever they are fighting someone who is significantly below their pay grade, they are obligated to defeat them in a way that has style.
Superman fighting a random thug with a machine gun? He has to walk slowly through the gunfire, letting them empty the entire clip.
Flash fighting some random scientist that blew up a building? He has to rebuild the entire building in the same quarter of a second it takes him to knock the criminal out.
Phantom fights a big ugly monster that's more bark than bite? He has to blast it with a single finger to knock it down.
Did any of them ever verbalize this requirement? No. Do any of them have a way to justify their flexing and styling on their enemies? Kinda. Did Batman hate it? Yes. But they are convinced it's because he can't afford to style on his enemies the same way they can, even if his casual over-the-shoulder punches to knock out thugs trying to sneak up on him is a pretty damn close approximation.
ok but consider: Batman is 'just' a man, and the fact that he continues to instill fear in GODS should absolutely make the backhand knockout count as styling on someone who has no chance. the key thing is though, that every hero does it differently, and batman's way is to either one-tap the goons without trying or turning the fear factor up to 100% and making the goons fuckin bolt. All the others are flashy and showy but Batman is very much not flashy and showy, he's shadows and fear. The others are the demons you know, hes the demon you *cant* know

This post breaching containment has taught me that a lot of people seem to think they can accurately profile complete strangers. For the record, no the fuck you can't.
you can actually mostly navigate computers with the keyboard and nothing else, there are a lot of shortcuts and software you can install to make it easier.
some things like say operating specific programs are impossible or nearly impossible without external accessibility software, but like a big part of what they teach you in web design is how to make sure your website is navigable with the keyboard only, and there are a lot of hidden accessibility settings most people don't know about which you can dig up just fine navigating with the keyboard that also make it easier. Like html is a programming language fundamentally built to make text easier for bots/computers to parse, and it turns out that comes with the side effect of not being that much more difficult to add kb only support.
like it's not always *pleasant* or the most efficient way, and accessibility is in increasingly being forgotten, but it's definitely possible.
like actually there is an entire subculture of programmers who go out of there way to make their computer as kb only as possible using software like vim or emacs among other things. In many cases you might even see that software being used as set dressing for a hacker in the movies, because actual hackers are in fact sometimes like that.
some people even carry around an entire ass linux distribution on a usb stick preconfigured with all their shit to be setup like that so they can in fact use *any* computer exactly how they like to. The US government actually maintains a distro called TENS for the exact purpose of being able to carry around your computer on a usb stick like that.

i feel like people aren't getting how dire ai is. we are running out of drinkable water. our brains aren't engaging as much with what we see and hear. people near data centers don't get clean water and experience electricity blackouts. it's being used to make pornography of underaged people and women. it often just lies. it affirms everything. it lies. it has made people kill themselves. it lies for gods sake. and people act as if im dramatic for being staunchly against it. 'now i KNOOW you hate ai and whatever, but look at this cute video' this isn't me being a new age puritan about internet videos, this is about the fucking earth and our future living on this planet. people are suffering now, people will suffer more, and my friends and parents will roll their eyes and think im annoying for despising ai so explicitly. we need to wake up because we cannot live like this
