My Random Fanfic Ideas
Hi, I made this blog to post the random fanfic ideas I have that I know I will likely never write. Feel free to take any that you like and use them for your own works if you want!
Rick and Morty Fanfic Idea: Like Father Like Grandson
Rick notices that, underneath all his overemotional bitching and anxiety, Morty is very, very smart. Smart enough that he may one day take Rick's place as the smartest being in the universe. A part of him knows he should be worried about that, what with how Evil Morty is and everything, but in truth, he's just really, really proud of his grandson and wants to nurture that boundless potential locked away within Morty's messed-up little head.
Rick and Morty Fanfic Idea: Scary As Fuck
Rick and his family don't hide how smart Rick is or what he can do. And his brains are WAY far and beyond what is normal on Earth. So when people see him drop his grandkids off at school, see Morty transform into a car in the middle of class, and see Morty kill dozens of people on the news and turn into an Akira monster, people don't just overlook that shit. Morty doesn't realize it, but people at school are terrified of him, teachers and students alike.
Spider-Man Fanfic Idea: Social Circles (amalgam Marvel universe)
MJ and Ned know that Peter is a superhero, that he's Spider-Man and was on or was an ally of multiple heroic teams, but that doesn't make meeting his non-civilian friends any less... star striking.
Percy Jackson x KonoSuba Fanfic Idea: Sibling Bonding
Percy's actions and feats in the wars against the Titans and the Giants have caused some... tension with the other pantheons of Earth. Many gods outside of Olympus see Percy as a threat, someone with godly levels of power but lacking the bindings of divine law. To avoid a potential conflict while working things out, and kill a second bird with the same stone, Poseidon sends Percy to stay with Aqua, a godly daughter of Poseidon's who had recently been sent to live the life of a human after being tricked by a recently deceased soul. The way the God of the Seas sees it, this is the perfect opportunity for Percy to bond with one of his immortal siblings, and it means there is someone Poseidon trusts keeping an eye on Aqua and making sure she's okay.
DPxDC Fanfic Idea: Secret Vacation Destination
Those with access to easy and reliable interdimensional travel liked to use it for casual, self serving things. Grocery shopping, housing, pet adoption, and of course, vacations.
Usually this means going to worlds that are essentially paradises, places with good food, great weather, and no large scale issues. Danny however, preferred more... interactive vacations. Which was fine, he kept what he did to himself, everyone was happy and consenting, and because it was in a different reality there was no chance of his personal or heroic reputation suffering.
Well, that was the case at least. Until one of his friends, who he might have a little bit of a crush on, asked if they could join him for his vacation since they needed to get away from things for a while and knew he went to other dimensions to relax. How exactly was Danny supposed to turn the request down without killing his future chances with his crush? And how was he supposed to get through his typical vacation activities without his friend discovering he spent his time off leading people around by, or having other people lead him around by, a leash and having intense, very public, very kinky BDSM sex in public in a world where that kind of thing was considered normal and acceptable among adults?
Crossover Fanfic Idea: ... I don't even know what to call this one
NSFW, CRACK, and Weird
Okay, so, to start us off, this is a crossover between Amazon's The Boys, Danny Phantom, DanMachi, and... I'm going with Avatar: The Last Airbender, but honestly, you can swap that one out for Kim Possible, and it would still work.
SO! Here is the idea:
Danny Fenton, Hestia, and Ty Lee (Or Kim Possible, dealer's choice really) somehow find themselves in the world of Amazon's The Boys. I'm gonna say that Danny is paying back a favor to Clockwork, Hestia is there as punishment for using her Arcanum, and Ty Lee is there because she asked the spirits for a way to repent for the stuff she helped Azula accomplish. MOVING ON!
The trio, upon finding themselves in this world, decide that since they are all outworlders, they'd team up so they can better survive and thrive and repent and pay their debts and such. So Danny uses his technology-overshadowing abilities to slide into the governmental databases and implant identities for each of them, and then after discovering the existence of Supes and Vought, reconvenes with Ty Lee and Hestia to ask what they want to do in regard to that kind of stuff. They agree to become a heroic trio and Danny goes back into the cloud, slips into Vought's systems, and implants some data about each of them having powers.
He puts in Ty Lee's actual stats and abilities, since while she is superhuman compared to the people of this world, she is still below the physical abilities of many supes since she can't break concrete or nosale bullets and blades. Then he puts in vastly nerfed stats for himself, basically saying all he can do is fly and project and manipulate energy in blasts, telekinesis, and such, but leaves out his other powers like super strength, super speed, intangibility, invisibility, cryokinesis, and so on. Finally, there is Hestia, who says she can't use overt display of her powers in this world without getting into even more trouble and has to be subtle about whatever she claims to be able to do. So, not knowing what else to do and taking inspiration from the story of Hera and Herakleus, puts down that she lacks superhuman physical abilities but instead produces breast milk that can temporarily boost the powers of supes and grant short-term superhuman physical characteristics to non-supes.
Fast forward a few years and Season 1 of The Boys kicks off, with the trio being known as a middling team of supes since the trio is trying their best to remain on the down low so they can just act as heroes and not deal with too much of Vought's marketing bullshit. But then Translucent gets killed and suddenly things change. Not only does Vought need to find another new candidate for The Seven, but they need to ensure their existing supes are secure and 'safe'. Which means Danny, with his flashy energy projection powers and strong track record, and Hestia with her supposedly power-boosting and granting milk are suddenly at the top of Vought's radar, pulling the trio into the thick of the bullshit that is the story of The Boys.
Honestly, I picked Ty Lee because I think she'd mesh better with Hestia than Kim would, and Ty Lee's ability to make people go numb with a few strikes means she can fight above her weight class in a way that Kim can't without her tech. But that said, Kim would likely be more capable in actually doing stuff when the trio get brought to Vought Tower, since she has secret agent skills and the accompanying mindset to make use of said skills. But like I said up top, Ty Lee and Kim Possible both work since they both have the same general power level, both are considered attractive, and both are good with people and relations.
Okay, I went back to this one while sober and I'm going to try and make it more... coherent. This is going to be a long one because I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I first wrote this.
Anyway, for this first bit of trying to make sense of my madness, here's a post where I work out casting.
I'd keep Danny Fenton as the male lead, giving easy multiverse travel to the story by way of the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms being a boarder dimension thing. But to make it so Danny isn't super OP, he'd probably have to self-regulate his powers. Personally, I view the power of Intangibility to be extremely OP, doubly so when you make other things intangible along with you, since it means you have durability and attack negation. So we'll say that Danny only uses flight, super strength, super speed, and invisibility. This means he can still go by Phantom and it makes sense but he's nerfed enough that he can't easily solve all the problems in The Boys using brute force.
Second, we have a female character who's plot relevance seems to be pocking fun at Homelander's milk fixation and mommy issues. I originally put in Hestia, probably because of how the Falna system grants power and the story of Hera breastfeeding Herakleus, but I honestly don't see Hestia doing well in the world of The Boys. So to keep on theme, I tried to think of some characters also known for being busty and for having magical abilities or divine origins to justify the power-granting milk thing. Eventually, I settled on Aqua from KonoSuba, since she is also a goddess, can be said to have the power to heal on top of the power-granting breast milk, and would probably be able to function in this kind of story better than Hestia without massivly breaking her character.
Lastly, it seems the third character is meant to be a 'non-powered' or 'low-powered' human figure. Possibly to imply they only have powers through the power-granting milk, or maybe to have the team have a skill based fighter. Not sure, to be honest. That said, I think Ty Lee still works here. She has a personality type that I think would let her get along with both Danny and Aqua, she is combat capable, is a showwoman at heart, and has canonical ways to punch above her weight class while still being at risk against the likes of the higher tier supes. Other options would include Ron Stoppable, Kim Possible, Link (Breath of the Wild), Stark (Beyond Journey's End), Black Cat (Marvel), Ravager (DC), and Hunter (Owl House).
One Punch Man Fanfic Idea: One Date Man
Saitama doesn't realize it, but he has some serious rizz... sometimes. Enough that he often finds himself accidentally asking women out on dates... and those dates being accepted. Not too big a deal. Until he asks out Fubuki back before he became an official hero, ghosted her after that first date, and is now face to face with her older, smaller, and very pissed-off sister who recognizes the man who had the gall to toy with her beloved little sister's heart.
DPxDC Fanfic Idea: Brains Over Brawn
Danny was not a weak hero, sitting somewhere around the seventieth percentile of those affiliated with the Justice League, but he was far from being a Heavy Hitter. No, his true value to the team was the fact that he had inherited his parents' ability to create scientific wonders and their general mad scientist skillsets. So when he was called in by the top brass of the hero world, it wasn't to be a frontline soldier; it was to make them the most insane shit possible to give them an edge in the coming conflicts.
Marvel Comics Fanfic Idea: Fantastic Field Trip
NOT MCU
Peter Parker's class is going on another field trip! And considering that the last time they had one Peter got superpowers, he is more than a little anxious about it. Then he finds out that the trip is to the Baxter Building, the home of the Fantastic Four and Fantastic Industries. Meaning it was the home of Johnny Storm, his best friend, who didn't know that Peter was still in high school, and whom none of the people in his class knew he was friends with.
A Knight's Tale Fanfic Idea: Filling In
Sir Ector doesn't die right before winning the first tournament, but he is injured. He urges William to take his place, just needing him to make it through one round so they can get some coin and Ector can have time to recover. But, as time goes on, Ector doesn't. He can walk, but he can't move like a knight should, his stamina is gone and his feet slow. So he keeps having Will fill in for him on the lists and in tournaments, while Ector himself remains the name and official knight on the register.
Fate Series Fanfic Idea: Knock-Off Divinity
Turns out that being able to Trace divine weapons, each of which gave off nearly perfect mimicries of divine energy, made Shirou's abilities a goldmine of research potential to modern mages that would never have the chance to study divine grade prana any other way. Which begged the question, how could Rin convince Shirou to actually let the mages of the Clocktower study his creations?
Legend of Zelda Fanfic Idea: Misunderstood Job Title
When Link told his parents and sister that he worked in the for the royal family as a guard, they thought he meant as a castle guard, not as a member of the Royal Guard. When he revealed he had been assigned to protect the princess, they thought he meant he was part of the guards in charge of watching over the wing of the castle her room was in, or maybe part of the entourage of guards that followed her around whenever she left the castle, not that he was her personal knight. They never once thought or realized that he wasn't A guard and knight of Hyrule, he was THE guard and knight of Hyrule.
Empowered x The Boys Crossover Fanfic Idea: The Only Competent Hero Team
Out of all of Vought's many, many heroes and superteams, only one actually helps more people than it hurts and whose members are worthy of being called superheroes. Too bad most people overlook them on principle since their team name is the less-than-ideal 'Superhomeys', a name that no one can decide is worse or better when taking into account that most of the team is white.
DPxDC Fanfic Idea: Fake Magic
After being seen doing something supernatural one too many times, Danny concocts a story to hide the fact that he has ghost powers without just denying the existence of his ability to do weird stuff. He claims to be learning magic, inspired by stories of his Witchhunter ancestors and the incredible displays of power showcased by the likes of Doctor Fate, Shazam, and Zatanna.
It works pretty well, with him becoming known as a necromancer who specialized in banishing spirits and as a cryomancer capable of grand displays of raw cold generation. He even becomes so well known that when some people outside Amity Park find themselves in need of someone to cleanse some lingering spirits and cursed energy, they call Fentonworks with the intent to hire Danny to deal with it.
No big deal. The Drakes were a respected and well-known duo of archaeologists. It probably wasn't a trap. And it wasn't like Danny wasn't capable of actually dealing with ghosts... He wasn't sure about the curse though. That might be a problem.
Danny Phantom x Empowered Crossover Fanfic Idea: Heroic Mentor
Danny had been operating as Phantom since he was fourteen, and being twenty-four meant he had plenty of experience in being a hero, and had been recognized as one of the best in the world since he was only fifteen. On the other hand, Elissa Megan Powers had only taken up the name Empowered that year, and didn't have the... best learning curve. Actually, that was an understatement. She was a joke. Kept around on the Superhomeys out of pity and because people thought she was hot. But she didn't want that. She didn't want to be known as the social media hire and the joke of every supervillain circle in the country. She wanted to be a real heroine, a symbol that people looked at and felt safe, one with a legacy that she could be proud of.
Which is what led Elissa to Amity Park, tearfully begging Phantom to train her so she'd stop getting captured and tied up like a fetish model by every villain and gang she tried to fight. And Phantom... didn't know how to respond.
Marvel Comics Idea: Parker-Frost International Industries
With Anti-Mutant sentiment on the rise and Emma Frost being openly and publicly a mutant with actual authority among her people, Frost Industries is starting to take a hit in the shareholders and public support. To avoid her company from falling due to how people view her people, Emma decides to take a massive risk and sign ownership of her company over to someone else. At least for a while until things cool down again.
But that brings up the question, who could she trust with ownership of Frost International? It had to be someone who wouldn't drain her accounts, or cut her off from her current and future funds. And she didn't want her company liquidated and folded into another company. Nor did she want to risk giving it to someone who would bow to public pressure against mutants...
Maybe she should give Mr. Parker a call.
