is this orange or yellow.
its yellow you are all wrong i have decided just now
hey op, what does this say?
nice try but i’m not colorblind it says 71
Am I tripping?
Is that not 71?
You’re slightly colorblind, that is 74 and the color of the car is orange.
world heritage post
It’s orange
it’s literally 71
Bestie it’s 74
Y’all it clearly fucking says 21
where are you getting that from?
Babes it’s 81 what r yall seeing
its 74 bestie you might be colorblind
That 81 person can see shrimp colors
I took exactly the same image, increased the saturation, and shifted it to a part of the spectrum most people can see better.
For all your no-YOU-have-the-weird-color-vision argument-solving needs.
Also, the car is orange.
Posting this in case anyone is color blind and doesn’t know it lmao
@cartoondog
So, I wanted to identify the car, and I was dead set on Subaru because those looked like a Subaru door handle and the Sunshine Orange Subaru painted the XV, known in the US as the XV Crosstrek because I don’t write the jokes about yankees needing shit spelled out, the world writes them and I just read them aloud.
So surely this is the car in picture, one would think, especially once assured by Google Lens that that’s what the picture depicts. But there’s one conclusion I kept coming back to:
Yes, people. Someone out there not only cares what car we think that is but is actively working to deceive us into thinking that is the last generation of the car I keep having to remind myself is not spelled Crosstek. But I will not fall for it, and with my help neither will you!
From such a closeup, in fact, one would surely, if not notice the upper feature line being a nick further out than the upper edge of the handle hole, at least notice the presence of a lower feature line below it, or at the VERY least the doorline curve to its right being concave and not convex.
So perhaps the previous generation had the simpler lines we’re looking for?
Yes, but also a handle recess that does not reach all the way to the back of the handle, so, having gotten back to square one, I resorted to a cunning strategy: waiting ‘til I got home and finding the picture source on my computer.
(Which I could still do on my phone too if Google wasn’t hellbent on pretending Lens could ever be a serviceable replacement for the OG reverse image search when you can’t even sort matches by fucking size and its idea of exact matches is as accurate as my idea of staying on topic speaking of which what were we talking about I swear this never happens.)
And I found it’s a 2009-2014 Subaru Liberty (name by which Aussies got the Legacy ‘till 2020).
But, oh the irony, the orange that clued me onto the Subaru brand altogether? It never adorned this generation. And this, as you can see in this more accurate lighting, is not even that orange. Because as it turns out…
Indeed, in the ultimate act of deceit, what you were looking at wasn’t yellow paint nor orange paint for, being a wrap, it wasn’t paint altogether!
This explains what would otherwise be a bafflingly uninteresting picture: in any normal car, that’s just a door handle. In a car basically coated with sticker, that is a flex.
And yes, fortunately, the filename can chime in in the debate.
Not saying that a color necessarily is anything someone making it is willing to say it is, but if you mean to insist that this is yellow…
…well, go tell 3M that. Or go get told that by 3M! They do offer samples.
Links in blue are posts of mine about the topic in question: if you liked this post, you might like those - or the blog’s Discord server, linked in the pinned post!
EDIT: This is, by some order of magnitude, this blog’s most popular post, and I’m happy to have entertained so many. If you’re one of them, like @uxbridgeenglishdictionary here…
…I have great news for you: there’s now a spinoff blog called @what-is-this-car, dedicated to identifying make, model, generation and year of vehicles seen around or sent its way, and explaining what gave them away! I work on it with the very appreciated help of many talented friends, and I’d love of you to check it out. (And, well, to check this blog out too, if you have the time.) Thanks! :)
Also, @furreteatingicecream posted a render of what the picture looks like to those suffering from protanomaly (or red-weak colorblindness), courtesy of color-blindness.com’s color blindness simulator.
If you think this doesn’t look any different, well, we may have worked out why you don’t think it’s orange.
i love when i share what seems to me like basic entry-level critical self-awareness advice with other people and they react like i'm a terrifyingly transgressive but tempting corrupting influence. i really missed my calling as one of those villains who are unimpeachably ideologically correct but undermined by a personal deficiency of character that makes them hideously unattractive to anyone more socially adept.
me: oh no! this person is experiencing shame about something they don't need to! we should offer them a kinder, more forgiving perspective!

Have you ever read so much fanfiction and consumed so much fanart for the sole purpose of forgetting what canon is?
How many of you have plans for your future? Do you have a career that you're working towards, and goals you hope to achieve? Do you have younger members of your family that you hope to see grow up safe? Do you want to start a family of your own?
Even if you're not sure about your future, the knowledge that you will have one is a privilege many of us take for granted. Amidst a violent occupation, Palestinians have tried to build futures and lives for themselves, and have been very successful. But recently, many people have found it hard to hold onto their dreams as their home is destroyed all around them, and their pleading with the world to help them falls on apathetic ears.
The fundraisers that you see shared on here are these families lifelines, but recently I've noticed that people have completely stopped caring about them. This is not normal and it's not okay!! If you are exhausted, I need you to consider how exhausting it is to live through it! Every fundraiser you see is a real person. These are not just games of getting numbers to go higher. These are people's hopes of survival, hopes for the future, hopes for their children. The way you react to these campaigns has a real effect on these people, has a real effect on their ability to believe in a better future and hold onto hope.
Your alliance with the Palestinian people has to be material and concrete. My friend Dina has been struggling severely to see a future for her children as her campaign goes ignored and her pleas for help are met with silence. Her children won't survive on your well wishes, they need actual help. Please don't stand idly by while this genocide continues. You may have seen the horrific crimes occurring every day in Gaza but you haven't seen how my friend fears for her and her children's lives every time a new horror occurs. Only you, through your support and care, can restore her hope for the future.

I am Mohammed, I live in the northern besieged Gaza Strip, I am 21 years old, I have always tried to create a beautiful future for myself in which I achieve all my wishes. I had ambitions and dreams, but they evaporated because of the war, but I still want to achieve them despite the siege. During the war, I lost many things, including my university, my dreams, my job, and some friends. Despite that, I still want to achieve my dreams and ambitions. I want to rebuild my life again, so please help me in that and rebuild my life. Therefore,
please donate as much as you can because that helps me a lot. If you cannot donate, tell people about my suffering.
My name is Mohammed, I live in a neighborhood in Shujaiyya, an area in the north of Gaza. I am 21 years old , the eldest among my siblings.
Hello, my name is Lama, and I am from Gaza City, specifically in the northern Gaza Strip. I grew up in a loving family of resilience and hope, with my parents working tirelessly to provide us with a life of dignity and opportunity. My father was our steadfast provider, and my mother was the heart of our home. I have two brothers and three sisters, the youngest of whom is just six months old. She is frail and often sick due to the lack of proper food and medicine. My siblings and I have shared dreams of education, careers and a bright future. But life in Gaza is marked by hardship, and when the war began, everything we had built was shattered. My older brother, a kind and a courageous soul, was martyred while trying to secure basic necessities for our survival, my younger sister was gravely injured, and the cost of her treatment weighs more than the universe to us, now the responsibility for my family has fallen on my shoulders.

Our home, once filled with warmth, laughter and memories, has been reduced to rubble. We have been displaced more than thirty times from place to a place with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Each time we returned, we found more destruction, we always clung to the hope of rebuilding, but in the last attack, our home was completely destroyed, we are now homeless, living in unsafe conditions with no shelter to protect us from the cold nights. The loss of our home is not just the loss of a building, it’s the loss of safety, stability, and the place where our dreams were nurtured.
With my father unemployed since the beginning of the war, we have no income to provide even the most basic necessities. Water, food, medicine, warm clothes and blankets-things that many take for granted-are beyond our reach. Every day is a battle for survival, and every night is a reminder of the dangers and struggles we face. I am determined to care for family and give my younger brothers and sisters a chance to grow up with hope. But I cannot do it alone.
I am reaching out to you with a plea for compassion and action. Your support can help us rebuild our lives, restore hope, and secure a future where my family can live in peace and safety. Every donation, no matter how small brings us closer to survival and dignity. Please for the sake of god and humanity, help us in this time of desperate need.
After more than a month of disconnection, we are finally back...
-These photos are from today, 11/3/2025.-
Today, I am sharing a glimpse of our new life, where we have started again beside our home that was destroyed by war. Despite the pain and loss, we have not lost hope, and our determination to build a better future for our children remains unshaken.
This Tumblr house we now live in is not just walls—it is a testament to our resilience and to the love and support of everyone who has stood by us. You have always been a community full of kindness and generosity, and today, I share these moments so you can see how the light continues to shine in our hearts despite everything.
-This clip was made yesterday by my daughter Lian to make something for Amir to sleep in and the experiment was successful. This is Amir sleeping.-
But life here is still very difficult. We are still trying to stay strong, and we have built a simple shelter to live in—I will attach photos. We are waiting for the border to open so we can travel, hoping for the day when I can see my children wearing school uniforms, going to learn, playing in safe, undamaged places, eating clean food, and drinking safe water.
For now, we are just trying to survive with what little we have, as the border remains closed to everyone except those with severe medical conditions and critical war injuries.
We need your support once again. I will try to stay connected online and keep sharing photos and videos of our new life. Thank you to everyone standing with us—you are our hope in these difficult times.

Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza
Has it become normal Now that the defenseless civilians in Gaza face death and starvation on a daily basis?
Hell No!
F*ck No!!!
Note: Vetted by:

2. @riding-with-the-wild-hunt Here .
I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.
Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.
People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.
When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.
I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

Trapped in a Vicious Cycle of Suffering in Gaza
Displacement, torture, agony, hunger, fear, and death. This is the daily reality in Gaza. Every day, people receive warnings to evacuate before another wave of relentless Israeli airstrikes. And every day, the same desperate question echoes across the strip: Where do we go?!!!!!
Gaza has become a living hell. You cannot blame us for longing for a safe, normal life, for seeking a place where we can reunite as a family and rebuild what was torn apart. Can you?! Wouldn't you strive to do the same at any cost?!
28/3/2025: At 75% of our final goal and getting there, hopefully.

A Future Beyond War Starts With You 💙
My name is Naser, and war has taken everything from me—my mother, my sister, my home, and the life I once knew. In an instant, my world was shattered, leaving behind nothing but memories and the weight of loss.
But even in the darkest moments, I refuse to give up. Because amidst the pain, I still have something worth fighting for—my three younger brothers.
🔹 One dreams of becoming a doctor, to heal others so they don’t have to endure the pain we’ve faced. 🔹 Another aspires to be an engineer, hoping to one day rebuild what war has destroyed. 🔹 And the youngest? He doesn’t have big dreams yet—he just wants to be a kid again, to wake up in a home that feels safe, to play without fear.
But how do you rebuild a life when there’s nothing left to start with?
🏡 We Need a Home. We Need Education. We Need Hope. Right now, we are not just fighting for survival—we are fighting for the chance to live, to grow, to dream again. We are fighting for a future where my brothers can become the doctor, the engineer, the child who gets to have a childhood.
💙 This is where you come in. I’m not asking for much—just a chance. A chance to rebuild, to give my brothers a future beyond war.
Your support, whether through a donation or simply sharing our story, can make all the difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can create ripples of change.

Hello, everyone. I'm making this new post in hopes of revitalizing Youssef's campaign which is stagnating. Youssef is NINETEEN YEARS OLD and he bears the crushing responsibility of keeping his family alive during a genocide. In Youssef's words:
"Every day is a new battle. I work long hours, searching in the corners of the camp for any opportunity that allows me to earn some money. Fatigue grips me, but I can't afford to give up. My father is sick, trapped in his pain, and his eyes plead for help. There are moments when I feel my heart shatter when I see his gaze; he endures his suffering in silence, but I know he is hurting. As for my little brother, despite his innocence, he is fighting hepatitis due to contaminated food that we are forced to eat."
After a few weeks of pretty consistent 20(+) per day donat1ons, suddenly we've dropped to FOUR in 24 hours! Youssef and his family are still struggling, so let's not give in halfway. Currently, we are at $7611/15000. Let's do our part and help relieve some of their suffering.
Youssef is Vetted. He is shown on line 255 on the Vetted Gaza Evacuation Fundr@iser List by @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi.
