Hi! How are you?I wanted to ask you a question, but first please know that it is not a form of hate or that I disagree with your opinion...But why do you ship Charlie x Alastor? Like, Alastor is much older than her, he's like a father to her and also the creator even allows you to ship with any character, but The series does not show any form of sexual love or couple love between Charlie and Alastor's relationship in the animation.
Oh! Well, I don't want to get into to many tangents. Because it's one of my favorite ships and if I don't catch myself I'm gonna end up writing 50 pages. LOL
So I'm just gonna answer based on your points.
Alastor being Older: So, a lot of people are going to answer you that it's Charlie who's the one who's older. Since she's over 200 years old. But honestly, does it matter? Because at the end of the day, she's 20 something and she acts like a 20 something mentally so, yeah. She is younger in a way.
I ship him with her regardless because well, I like older men. So it's just personal preference.
Father Figure: I'm one of those people who thinks he brought that up to fuck with Lucifer. Not really meant to be taken honestly. If I stick with Canon, I would say he's more like the creepy annoying closeted uncle. I just don't see anything in the show that would make me go "Oh, he is like a father figure"
And that brings me to the last point: Because you're absolutely right. There's no show of any kind of romantic or sexual love between them. But, I think a lot of people think that you need some kind of "Canon proof" to "allow" yourself to put two characters together. When really, you don't.
People pair characters for many reasons. Sometimes, they think they look good together. Some like how they interact. Other may see themselves or their own relationships in them.
Whatever the case, I think it's important to highlight that most don't do this under the veil of believing it true.
We know it's not Canon and never will be. We know it's out of character and completely outside the point of the show.
But it doesn't really matter, because it's not really something to abide to. Since it's purely something for us and our tastes. It's an AU. A "what if"
So, we take the characters and focus on certain aspects of them we like. We highlight those aspects and bring them to the front. Creating as a result, a fantasy version that doesn't really have to abide by the rules of the original source material.
It's just a personal take that takes shape of an inspired version of characters we like being together. It all comes down to personal artistic vision. We bring it out to connect with other who feel the same. That's all really.
