also this isn’t an nsfw blog but i am 18+ and will reblog / say things that are 18+
I escaped the trap perfectly fine but I gnawed off my own leg because people would never believe I was being hunted otherwise . They will see the stump and realise I was right, and they'll take it so seriously, and they'll know how sharp my teeth are and how strong my jaw is and how desperate and scared I've been this whole time
I have to be a bit more conscious about health deteriorating. Such is adulthood I suppose.
I'm in good health, but figured a list of small reminders will be helpful nonetheless. It's a bundle of life tips I've picked up along the way
The idea isn't to fix everything all at once, it's building habits so you don't have to think about them, so even if everything collapses and life goes wrong, there's something to return to
Life's too short, look after your health, physical and mental, you'll do great (Text under the cut)
Before we get into it - being slapped with a wall of text of stuff of things can feel like we're not doing enough - the idea is we pick out a little bit at a time and build it into our weekly habit - slowly doing more and more things - NOT to change everything about ourselves over night - that would be unsustainable. But incremental adjustments let's us see the results of what we're doing in real time.
We do what we can and scale back parts that feel too much.
This is general, you'll just adjust them for what's right in the context of your own life. Not aiming for perfection - e.g if you don't eat 5 carrots a day you aren't a failure, what we're doing is making decisions about our life that build momentum over time adjusting priorities in order of importance depending on what is happening. Sometimes habits take a back foot while you have to sort something out, process an unusual situation or adapt to something else.
Sleep - recharges the body, we need sleep. You can do a lot with a proper rest - stops irritability and exhaustion in the next day
Emotional regulation - emotions tell us what we need - Tells us everything we need to know about ourselves such as wants, needs and life fulfillment - signals tell us how we're getting on and what we need to do
Trauma processing - We can't function properly in survival mode or overloaded state of mind - either you learn how to manage it, or it just sits there
Operate at 60% - You're not supposed to be pushing yourself past breaking each day - this is for burnout management
Eat nutritious foods - There's way too much to talk about for this one.
Get creative - or a passion - something that makes you excited to get up. It makes you interesting to talk to, makes you more contented, gives you something to focus on.
Just say yes - Being open to trying new things, it's great for hanging out with people, learning new things, just a great trait to have.
Just say no - Knowing when you need to take time for yourself is even more important. Just because there's a free hour in the calendar doesn't mean it immediately has to have something there.
Wear sunscreen - protects skin from harmful rays - it's for reducing risk of skin cancer
Ergonomics, posture and stretches - prevention first, it'll help minimise long term injury
Listening + Observation - A lot of things can be solved just be taking an interest in the people, paying attention to what they're doing and saying.
Set personal life fulfillment criteria - what everyone else is doing is largely irrelevant to your wellbeing - inner peace and life fulfilment comes from knowing yourself, what you want and need to feel good.
Take your meds - Take your meds.
Be good to yourself - priority number one.
Speak up, assertiveness, self advocacy - people are forgetful, ignorant, don't have time to care, whatever it is, learning how to voice our needs is the fastest way to getting them solved and build lasting and meaningful relationships.
Give out more than you get back - :)
Growth mindset - Be open to learn new things, take on challenges, new skills - there's always something to learn - being open to change and new ideas let's us adapt and grow. If we pass on that, we stagnate.
Be kind - You won't know what sort of trail you're leaving behind. But you can sure leave a lot of ripples.
Goals, lists, plans - they can be helpful to write down to give an overview of what you're trying to do, how you're doing it and the time.
Plan for the future - we're not guaranteed a tomorrow, let alone making it to 100. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth thinking about roughly how we want things to go. Plan for success, expect failure and then adapt.
Learn how to learn - it'll give you a good idea of your own strengths and weaknesses and you can adapt to whatever life throws at you.
Does it matter? - Life is actually a lot smaller than it can feel. If you know yourself, you will know how to navigate it regardless of what happens.
Failure - Trying and failing is not the same thing as giving up before an attempt is made.
Momentum - Once the wind is in the sail, we're riding it as long as it's going.
Be present - giving someone your full attention, it means something, even if you never see them again, it matters
Get good shoes and pillow - Invest in quality. It'll save you money in the long run and just make you feel good along the way.
Repair, reuse, learn how to do it yourself - You really do not want to be calling on professionals for menial tasks if possible - knowing when you can do it yourself and when to call for the pro will save you lots of time and money.
Ask for the help - We're not all meant to be able to do everything all the time forever - just ask for the help. If you can't stomach leaving the house - then just pay the fee.

People come and go in our lives, they aren't all meant to be there forever. We learn different things from different people. Thousands of micro interactions, random words from strangers along the way.
The one constant in life is the relationship we have with ourselves. If we can learn to appreciate who we are. Stand up for what we want and need. It won't matter where we are or what we're doing.
We can run, bury our feelings, move from place to place, have any plethora of coping mechanism, but you can't force someone to be ok with who they are.
Once you're an adult, it's up to you how you want to proceed. If you'd like people to start taking you seriously, you first need to take yourself seriously. That means accepting that you're worthy and your needs and wants matter. It matters. And if you're not there yet, don't worry, it comes with time and practice. I believe you can do it. Because you are worthy, no matter what you've been told or whatever societal pressure wants you to believe.

A lot of advice say things like: "just be confident" and "be assertive" - they'll list what those attributes look like and say to 'fake it till you make it' - but really all of that happens automatically if you work out the underlying reasons they aren't happening. This means sorting out mental and physical health and working towards a life that suits personal needs and interests. Those things don't come out of thin air - it's a snowball of skills, practice and thoughts to develop over time, if it's built on a concrete foundation, it can withstand any setback. So even if life doesn't work out exactly how you envisioned it, it won't matter.
We sadly don't start life from the same start point, so we need to look for things that work for us personally. That might mean doing a bit more legwork along the way for different things.
Each thing affects the last - and the more in sync we are with our own bodies the more effective we'll be.
Alright team, you got it in the bag, go get 'em
Two dudes in my group chat have been playing league & slowly but surely have shifted from saying "wanna play league of legends" to "wanna play some geego legends". At this point their average post is just @ing the other and going "geegogagand?" and I feel insane
