The Day of Love <3 (Pt. 2)
A/n: The wait is over! Here are the Inazuma and Sumeru men with their darlings on the Valentines, in the Part 2 of the Day of Love! (Also check out the previous part HERE). Like and share for final part!

He's the type to tell you how he doesn't need a special day to love you if he loves you everyday of the year (Ends up planning surprises anyway)
He'd be more laid-back than usual on this day, and take care of his work with even more ease and calm, if that's even possible
Plans to take you to his work, negotiations, and cultural events for the day
Just having you around, marveling at the decorations and performances organised by the commission to host a warm intimate evening for Inazumans, fills his heart with peace
Will take you for a traditional Japanese-style dinner, with incense, a zen-garden, and what not
You better get ready in that kimono and hair accessories he bought specifically for the evening
(Ends up doing your hair himself because he loves the soothing silent moments between you guys)
Even if you don't wear the kimono, he can't take his eyes off you. You're gorgeous to him anytime, any day
Flirty. Will pass comments teasing, in a sly manner, and be VERY aware of your sweet little flustered reactions
Y'all end up having a street-stall boba
Would appreciate a night-stroll at the organised event of love, under disguise, with his sweet darling
Tonight, it's gonna be just the two of you
Has a habit of carrying everything and everyone alone on his shoulders
While everyone focuses on the love in the air, and cheesy, fuzzy pick-up lines and gifts, will make it a point to still remember the importance of work, and taking care of everything! Kamisato Estate? Check. Lady Ayaka's assistance? Check. Additional instructions/training outside work to Yashiro Commission? Ya guessed it, Check.
But that's not to say he has his own plans...with his own "someone"
Will show up to your place with flowers and a bunch of practical gifts (no cause why do they include hanging hooks and cook books?)
Takes you to Komore Teahouse, you can't help but pet good boi Taroumaru
Hot pot challenge! (But deliberately adds nice things for you while you take up the challenge to absolutely ruin him)
Gifts you a matching headband
Spending the night, tells you how much you mean to everyone, specially him, and that you should take good care of yourself. Eat, rest, be productive.
Makes you make a pinky-promise for the same ^^

This man has been trying to keep his "surprise" plans a secret for the whole week! (Totally doesn't accidentally spill them here and there without realising)
Y'all know that meme? "Are you free tomorrow?" "Yeah?" "Good, meet me by the tree, its a surprise, I gotta propose to you", Yeah. That's him. Poor boi
Has been up past few nights mapping the lengths of Narukami Island to find you the rarest, biggest beetle to gift!
As you chuckle on the day of love, when he finally confesses his grand plans...he tilts his head, confused
"What?! Babe, you're so damn smart! How'd ya ever know?!" (Kuki rolls her eyes, crosses her arms, as she buries a smile under her mask at a distance)
Gets you wild-flowers, they're...chaotic, colourful, standing out...just like him!
(With kuki's help) plans out a proper date. A sweet homemade dinner! It's a bit...messy, but hey, so is he, and he's yours, no?
Takes you to a cliff later (the "cliff befitting the master beetle-battalist" as he puts it...whatever that means). As you guys sit, looking at the endless street-lights of the city below, he attempts to hold hands
Gets too flustered and fails
Regardless, the moments are tender and expressive, because...at the end of the day, human or oni, y'all are one, and that what matters ;)
Heās a caring man, and values taking care of the people, animals, and plants close to him
Valentineās is never forgotten! Infactā¦he takes it as an opportunity to remind everyone to take care of themselves, much like Baizhu.
The forest rangers of Avidya Forest, and scholars who have worked with him before (the ones he likes, actually), surprisingly wake up to a bunch of wild flowers and mushroom tied together like a bouquet alongside a slip of paper, every year on this day, wishing them, and noting the remedial things specific to them (he knows too much about everyone. Insomnia? Exhaustion? Anxiety? He got you)
When he goes out of his way to do these ālittleā things for everyone on this day, you, my dear, as his special, he must go beyond!
Waking up with a bouquet by your pillow, youāre surprised initially. That is, until you prop up, and realiseā¦mhm? Whatās that smell? Ahhh, is that your favourite?! As you make your way to your kitchen after brushing away the grogginess, you spot him by the chopping board
His ears twitch, as he turns to see and a greet youā¦huh? Why does he have capsicums in his hand? And broccoli on the chopping board? Nooo, not to your favourite dish-
...Shush, he calms you down, softly gliding his hand on your head, fixing the bed-head
āYou wonāt even taste them, sweetie, I promise. You need more fiber in your dietā oh. Oh no. That STUPID smooth fox-smile of his. Ah, you melt
As you guys have a slow breakfast together by the shade of the garden-tree, he smiles, āSay, love, are you free this afternoon to the night?ā Hmm? Sure, arenāt you?
Takes you trekking. At first, it seems like just another one of his small expeditions for the dayā¦until this assumption is proved wrong
A clearing in the forest? Itās not AS dense as the rest of the forest, and hasā¦ropes? Wowā¦waitā¦itās an obstacle course! Rope courses, suspension bridges, swing-ropes, tree climbing gear, crawling-under wires and what not!
He lights up, seeing you so shocked andā¦excited. All the efforts of the past week in preparing all this paid off for him huh? You both sure do have a hell of a day
This man essentially comes off as blunt, or indifferent to the celebrations and lovey-dovey atmosphere of Sumeru. He really values stability
āItās a commercial holidayā is what he says
Regardless, (due to a little push from the one and only Lesser Lord Kusanali who spilled her knowledge about importance of relationships) makes it a point to buy you the prettiest white flowers imported through port Ormos
Library, or a museum date. But worry not, it wonāt be AS boring as it soundsā¦afterall, no matter how stoic he comes off to beā¦he loves you. And you know it
Will take you to the exact sections of the library/museum which resonate with your interests! History? Of course, actually, why not have him quiz you with a hint of a smirk at the corner of his lips?ā¦Business/Economics? Sure, how about discussions of Sumerian business-relations and imports/exports from other nations? Law? Man, what do you think about the usage of Akasha in public by legal-moral standards? Heh
Orā¦nothing? Really? Oh? You like light novels? Ahā¦for the first time in a while, heās found himself on a subject heās not quiteā¦very familiar with
Seriously? THAT is what happens in those stories you read? Man, he thinks the characters are stupid with their feelings and miscommunication. You chuckle, shaking your head at his confusion
Time passed, wow, yāall didnāt even realise when you both sat down by a shelf, talking, sharing, chucklingā¦so close. Thatās when it strikes youā¦hey, was he even reading?! Heās been busy, you knowā¦getting lost staring at the lively soul sitting beside him with their odd interests

The morning isnāt asā¦enthusiastic for you. You see couples, heart shaped delicacies, and even people preparing for the long-awaited theatre-performance of Nilou for this evening, dedicated to the day of love, everywhere today.
All this spirit aroundā¦and yet, your lover is away on āsomethingā that came up?
Letās be honest, you knew what you signed up for when you agreed to date the General Mahamatraā¦but does that understanding really warrant for how you feel right now?
You busy yourself in your own tasks, and helping others for the day. That is, until the afternoon, when he seems to return to the academia from the deserts, in furtherance of some of his duties
Hmm? A messenger? A letterā¦itās curt, but does a fairly good job at portraying his remorse beyond his seemingly stoic demeanour. It also serves as an invite for tonight?
Butā¦are you guys really not going to watch the theatre tonight? Did he forget?
Anyway...you decide to take him up on the late-date. And when he finally shows up, with exotic flowers in-hand, for a momentā¦you forget all your complains
His hair is down, done in a half-braid, and he is dressed in a dark silk attire topped with Angavastram, or shawl of the same elegant fabric, and gold accessories
Heā¦understands your tantrum throughout the way, trying to cover up with horrible puns and explanations with apologies. Afterallā¦you mean an awful lot to him.
Carivan Ribat? THAT is his plan? You sighā¦but the said sigh is soon taken back, when your eyes witness the festive atmosphere. The place is as lively as ever, business-people using all opportunities to get people into buying imported perfumes and artifacts, music and the smell of smoky food filling the airā¦itās breathtaking
The open-restaurant he takes you to has a little stage. Hmm? Itās getting late, and quieterā¦and thatās when the magic starts
Is thatā¦Nilou?! Waitā¦wasnāt sheā¦did she finish up at the theatre and head here forā¦them? By the corner of your eyes, you also catch Dehya and Candaceā¦.oh. This was planned.
The night of music and food seems like a fever dream, as you finally sigh, this time happily, and forgive him
Very honestly, he really doesnāt know how to go about the day of love
Loveā¦is complicated. Itās scary. To lay your vulnerabilities to someone, to share your highest moments with someoneā¦itās not easy for him. Never has been
Heās been left before, heās been ābetrayedā beforeā¦againā¦and againā¦and again
Never. Never again shall he āloveā again, itās a curse! That is what rushed in his mind repeatedly, when he first saw you, when he first met you, no, he can't deal with these feelings, he must-ā¦ughā¦he has nightmares, nightmares where he sees you as a fleeting being, and wakes up panting, holding his head
That is, until you hold his hand, occupying them so they wouldnāt find a place to hurt him again, and pulled him out from that dark, lonely place
It is hard for him to believe, is this a dream too? Is Lesser Lord Kusanali playing some sick joke on him?...No. She would never. So itāsā¦real

Takes time to open up, and puts that sassy front of his very naturally as a guard each time it gets too muchā¦but lately, youāve been noticing that heās been doing it lesser and lesser
Thatās why, on this day, he wants to do something for you, even if heās a bit scared
Is a little confused, but has got the spirit. The most endearing part is that this Valentineās, he realises heās not alone. No, not just in the sense of having a partner, butā¦friends. What flowers should he get you? Nilouās got this! Perhaps a letter? Nahida loves helping him write! Maybe he should try making somethingā¦how about baking some cake? Sounds easy enough when Madame Navia sending him recipes each month!
Regardless of howā¦unique his efforts turn out to be compared to couple-norms, you reassure him that theyāre perfect. Like him
A smile makes way to his lips, and doesnāt leave for the rest of the night, blessed with sweet dreams by your side this time
A/n: Oh my god. First things first, I really hope yāall like it! And seconds, I got quite tired writing but the sheer motivation of these beautiful imagines with you guys for Valentineās kept me going!
