In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…

And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…

Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.

He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.

It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.

Cool little thing I'm working on for @oysterpaw just to try out some new things in Blockbench based off of their video about visible Minecraft enchantments

I'm not very familiar with using blocks with decimals in them so it looks kind of weird in shaping

Colourpicked from their image and am still at it, thank god for the mirror tool otherwise I'd be cooked....also trying a higher resolution than the regular 16x16 in order to get those little details on the conduit and such

OMG! i’m so sorry i haven’t opened my tumblr in like. a month. this is sick!!!! my dms aren’t working for some reason,, so i can’t respond there but this is very cool and very high praise that someone liked it enough to want to model it, have you posted this on youtube or anything? i’m sure people over there would love to see it :-)

no problem! I assumed you were a little busy and therefore didn't see it [was still odd admittedly] and funny enough I haven't done this sort of thing enough to do posts..I had only done two models before. one hat and a [very bad] sword that was just as a small competition between me and a friend Your design looked detailed enough to be a fun challenge but also really easy at the same time due to literally being draw in blocks [I can't stress how useful that was] I think if I do another design from your videos [just as an idea I've got bad burnout] then I can post at least a time-lapse of me doing it. I think it took me 5-6 hours total? A time-lapse would be great to do of it ngl..anyways! If you'd like the file to use it in Blockbench, a video, or even make it into a pack to use on mc then I'd be happy to send it to you! Add little @ with my name somewhere visible and I don't mind for it to be displayed/used
