I haven't seen anyone point this out anywhere yet, but the move Paul does during his new lines in Let It Out directly references Max being pulled by the Lords in Black's "invisible tentacles" in NPMD

When u hear your friend john talking shit about someone but you’re in church so you tell him to tone it down:
widehead
This is making me giggle he's so cute
There has to be a gnarly case of classic fandom misogyny behind people deciding that Ted's whole "people who are alive and people who are fucking dead" speech was about Pete, who's only a background character in this show, and Ted never even mentions, rather than Charlotte, who is pretty much the only person that Ted is shown to genuinely deeply care about and her corpse is literally right in front of him in that scene.
The woman he was in love with but couldn't have anything beyond a workplace affair with was just shot in front of his eyes because he left her alone with her already infected husband that she couldn't let go of but sure, he was thinking about his brother that we haven't seen him interact with in the entire hatchetverse other than their cameo in black friday and the start of abstinence camp where he makes him get out of his car and walk to the camp because he got scared to go back there. Sure.
MY FUCKING CAR

funniest thing about the "Ted! Emma's boss!" // "That's right Paul, all your best friends are here" bit is that there is functionally no reason at all for Nora specifically to be at the theater for Let It Out. especially since the remount brought Charlotte back for Inevitable it's so obvious that Nora is literally only there for the joke. in-universe Pokey thought it would be funny to send someone Paul fully doesn't know just to comment on how few friends he has, instead of sending his only other friend.
Charlotte, Paul's friend (certainly moreso than Ted), watching from the sidelines as some rando is sent to be part of Paul's apotheosis and she doesn't get to be there: :(
girl with ptsd voice: hey, so something really bad is gonna happen, right? you guys are picking up on that too, yeah? The other shoe is about to drop, I just know it.
-> listening to a jaunty country style song -> hear the lyrics wrong -> pause. frown. go back a few seconds to relisten -> hears the same fucked up lyrics -> check the actual lyrics to see what it ACTUALLY says
-> oh!
what do you mean elon musk did a nazi salute on live tv at the united states presidential inauguration twice and is now erasing the evidence off the internet by replacing the footage with the crowd cheering instead?
would be a shame if people reblogged this, wouldn’t it?
btw do you know how Jon found out that Paul doesn't hear the music in show? La dee da da day. This song has ONE chorus section where the music doesn't play. That's what Paul hears until Let it out. And that's what Emma hears until "Show stopping number" section in Inevitable. Because she already knew it's sound and you start hearing music when you start singing along. That's why La dee da da day, the first song in the narrative, the first song aliens sing, doesn't have any lyrics in it's chorus and is so catchy. Cause it was made to be sang along with.
the hero is charging an attack right now and asking me to lend my power but that asshole still owes me $20
