You're correct but also. Silicone is made of silicon. My OG point was how plants being able to make silicone implied a silicon based life form instead of carbon based life, and subnautica 2 actually specifies life on that planet is carbon based and uses the same DNA bases but produces different amino acids, which is why you need that early adaptation. Also, as someone with a materials science background, im not 100% sure the game means plastic as a material category or as a description of the properties of the materials. But either way, its super interesting and i love the worldbuilding in the game

Finally started south of midnight and i can already tell im going to need to play through this game a second time to just dwell in the story.

That said, if you enjoy the Folklore elements of Where the Water Tastes Like Wine, I strongly reccomend looking at South of Midnight and seeing if it appeals to you.

i feel like im in the 2% of scarlet hollow fans who are SUPER SUPER EXCITED to get more pastor daniel content in the final episodes. this guy is actually so fucking funny and i NEED to know whats going on at the church. also TTAmaxxers will finally have their moment

Also, honest to god props on scarlet hollow on how they handled the main twist in chapter 5. As soon as i realized how much the MCs mind was being messed with, extending to the LITERAL RECAP i was giggling in the middle of a horror game

Dr. Kelly intrigues me more by the day. She is an abuser, she is a victim, she is someone who was put into an incredibly difficult situation and had no idea what to do and decided to listen to terrible advice and continued to implement said terrible advice. She has taken autonomy away from her son. Just as her autonomy was taken when she fell pregnant with him. She’s afraid of him and doesn’t trust him with freedom at all. She assumes the worst so he becomes the worst. Her entire identity has become being the mother of a “chronically ill” child. She and her situation have made it this way. Without Reese she is nothing. She views herself as protecting both the town and her son, but by doing so, she has created the monster she feared. But Reese is more than that, and Dr. Kelly is more than that. And she has been poisoning him for his entire life out of fear. He’s been punished for crimes he’s never committed. She was never even trying to have a child, let along the Jersey Devil. She’s done horrible things. She deserves to be punished severely. She doesn’t deserve death. People’s perceptions of her and expectations of her to fill her motherly duties while also being pleasant and caring are laced with misogyny. Yet critiques are so very warranted. One could call her a terrible person for the things she’s done. I hate her more than any other character in the game currently. What she did to Reese is sick. Her actions are laced with sanism and ableism. She doesn’t trust therapists even though her family desperately needs one. She’s a single mother. I hate her so much. I want to study her under a microscope. She fascinates me. Watching her be eaten is cathartic in a way but she doesn’t truly deserve it. But it’s either Reese’s freedom, or her life. I need to examine her like an ant in a jar. I want the player to be able to kill her for Reese so that he doesn’t have to feel the guilt. I want her to live, but I don’t think she’ll ever have a good relationship with her son again. I HATE HER SO MUCH I WANT TO STUDY HER UNDER A MICROSCOPE!!!
