I have a fic idea that's like Eddie sleeping in Buck's bed during the beginning of his recovery, started when Buck's shaking got real bad so Eddie held him through it one night and then the next night it just made more sense to climb in bed next to him in case he needed to hold him again which then became a habit whenever it was Eddie's turn to stay with Buck, even if he didn't actually need to hold Buck through the night.
And then when Buck is doing better that they don't have to stay with him as much but he's not back to the 118 yet and it's a hard shift and Christopher is already at school so instead of going home alone, Eddie goes to Buck's and just curls up in bed next to him. Buck wakes up to ask him if he's okay and Eddie doesn't have the energy to pretend that he is so he's honest and so Buck wraps his arms around Eddie and holds him this time.
And they just, keep doing it. Anytime one of them spends the night at the other's or follows home after a shift or on a lazy weekend, they end up curled up together in bed.
In another life, we would be strangers
catching eyes as we pass each other
and go about our day,
never to see each other again.
But in that brief glimpse,
we shared a lifetime.
Prowl in tfp would certainly be a dynamic. He’d disagree and agree with Optimus about things but I can also see how he cares for the team’s human allies in his own way. Like, helping Jack keep watch of the others, making sure Miko doesn’t sneak into battle, sometimes even playing puzzle games with Raf and discussing strategies with Fowler. He might also be in conflict with Arcee about her revenge over Arachnid but focus more on a logical standpoint. He cares through action but that might make him push himself further than he should.
prowl would be such a good addition to the crew, so many things you can do with him! also ratchet would be SO happy to finally have someone on the base who shares his point of view in everything!!
but, like, in general, prowl would be such a useful guy. ratchet is a great advisor for optimus, really, but he lacks experience in military strategy and everyone else on the team is simply troops and warriors. honestly, i think it's a bit, well, not stupid, but weird not to have a character with such a role on this show, given everything that happens here. i guess, ultra magnus was supposed to be op's local tactician or first officer, but idk he didn't really help much? :D ratchet of course also was doing a great job of questioning some of prime's decisions, but like i said in one of my posts it's easy to ignore one annoying guy that is trying to cool you, but if you have at least two of them buzzing stuff in your ears, it's gonna be harder for you to do stupid things. yeah, tfp prime didn't have much of a problem with leadership, but still prowl def could find himself a place here
and i think prowl would have such an interesting relationships with the kids!
raf would shock him. a human protoform? and so smart?? even smarter than him sometimes?? what??? raf would be the reason why prowl melted to the kids
i think jack would actually like him. prowl is such a cool, serious, badass guy, young boys want to be like that. and prowl is more open than op, so it's not scary to talk to him. mostly. perhaps jack would discreetly try to adopt some of his behavioural traits? arcee is his main friend, but not really in a mentor way? and smokey influenced him to a slightly worse degree, so prowl could have been the reason jack started becoming more responsible and all. in the show it clearly happened with op's impact, but i think it would have been more logical with someone like prowl
and miko. oooh, miko. ratchet didn't have that much energy to argue with the kids, he was busy. fix this, heal that. workaholic. prowl clearly would have had more free time to waste on being pain in the ass. yeah, he would lecture her sooo much, he'd be so annoying!! but miko would just push back. their beef would be so much greater than the beef that prowl and grimlock had in marvel comics, i swear
prowl also would be so awkward in different social situations!! random image: prowl is trying to get close to the kids and offers to drive them to school. the trio stares at him in silence. DUDE. we don't want our classmates to see A COP CAR driving us to school! wtf! (it takes him some time to see the problem, sjsjsjjaj)
and arcee... prowl is calm, judicious, reasonable, sharing most of the op's views. yeah, i don't think he'd approve of revenge, he'd try to talk to arcee, let her know that these feelings are clouding her judgment (he knows how pain can affect you, he himself has been on the verge of hurting many for fear of losing someone), mention that he lost a very important person too, try to tell her about bluestreak... she would not listen to him. "your friend hadn't died because of someone else's hand, he wasn't killed. you wouldn't understand" alas, only arcee could help herself to get over it, but guidance from those around her would be helpful
