NĂşmero dos. We're playing with different animation styles for our upcoming demo reel. This one was made frame by frame in Photoshop. We highly recommend mixing tools such as Photoshop and After Effects, starting with a cool hand drawn illustration for a groovy animation style.
SeaWolf, Title Animation
Ben Gulliver is an award winning director from Vancouver, BC. We were requested to animate the title of his newest documentary Sea Wolf. Since we were recently experimenting with cel animation techniques, we decided to use this style to animate the title. The result is a rustic, almost tactile animation, very simple but super fun to work with.

Bear Mountain, Congo, Title Sequence, Credits & VFX
Bear Mountain is a music band from Vancouver, BC. We were requested to work on the title sequence, credits and VFX of the band’s music video Congo.
This video means a lot to us, not just for its complexity and details, but also because we got to collaborate with many talented animators, both 2D and 3D. We want to thank them all for being part of the Gámomo family, and exceeding our expectations in a super tight schedule.

Bear Mountain, Two Step, Official Music Video
Bear Mountain is a music band from Vancouver, BC. We collaborated with Teonanácatl Audiovisual to create the title sequence and VFX of the band’s music video Two Step.
This video was one of the most time-consuming and challenging projects we’ve made so far. We used frame-by-frame masking techniques to create the illusion of transparency over the character and objects, which was a new concept for us. We learned a great deal from this project, and are looking forward to another similar challenge.

RedBull Dirt Conquers Mexico, Title Sequence, Credits & Teaser Animation
RedBull Dirt Conquers is a BMX competition that happens in many different cities around the world. Tenoanácatl Audiovisual and Cebolla Films produced and directed the documentary that showcases the main elements of the event in Guadalajara, Mexico. We were requested to work on the title sequence, credits and teaser animation of this documentary.

PepsiCo Marketing Awards, Award Package
The Herd invited us to collaborate in creating the PepsiCo award package, which included all the videos utilized throughout the PepsiCo Marketing Awards 2013. The final pieces selected are an evolution of this video we’re displaying, which was one of the concepts presented to the client.
Interesting Vancouver, Meaghan Kennedy, Teaser Video Animation
Interesting Vancouver is a yearly event which features ordinary people with extraordinary lives. We were requested to create the teaser video animation based on Meaghan Kennedy’s talk.
We had a lot of fun on this one since a) we love piñatas (obviously) and b) we tried a different illustration style, capturing the essence of Meaghan and her art. Needless to say she absolutely loved it!

Interesting Vancouver, Ken Tsui, Teaser Video Animation
Interesting Vancouver is a yearly event which features ordinary people with extraordinary lives. We were requested to create the teaser video animation based on Ken Tsui’s talk.
We experimented with cel animation. Jo created approximately 60 different illustrations, frame-by-frame, which later went to Kenji for animation.

Braindamage, Title Sequence Pitch
This video was a pitch we made of the title sequence for the newest video of Braindamage. Unfortunately it didn’t see the light of day, but we still had fun making it.

The Mighty One, Waiting for You, Official Music Video
The Mighty One is a rock band that promotes universal healing through music. We were given the opportunity to create the video for Waiting for You.
We absolutely loved every aspect of the process leading to the result. From experimenting with different illustration techniques, to introducing a little bit about ourselves in the video as well. We also believe in the power of music, and it was very rewarding to contribute to this cause.
