In my rewrite of Kevin Party, This is Kevin's birthday party. A final attempt to make friends.

He invites Steven and Connie as a sign of peace and willingness to apoligize... but he has to be cryptic about it and lies, saying it's only for STEVONNIE to come.

in this version of the story, Connie and Kevin talk and form a truce without Steven being there.

And She tells Kevin a version of what happened, from her perspective: Steven putting his life on the line without considering what it would do to the people who love him. And never would want him to hurt himself for their sake. And Kevin very succinctly says,' That sucks. '

Kevin and Connie have met several times at this point because Connie's mother is Kevin's primary doctor, since he's always in the hospital for transfusions and treatments. Connie has a perspective of Kevin that she hasn't shared with Steven, because Kevin basically tried to threaten her and then begged her not to tell him. He doesn't want Sour Cream to find out. He doesn't want Lars to know, and he doesn't trust Steven not to tell them. Connie initially pushes back until she thinks about it. She realizes that Kevin's fear is very justified. Steven would tell the Gems. Or Lars and Sadie, without thinking, and then Sour Cream would know. So she doesn't tell Steven.

She knows Steven isn't malicious and wouldn't do it to be mean, but Kevin doesn't see it like that. Every interaction he's had with Steven has been negative in some way. Antagonistic.

Steven only finds out after Kevin dies and gets a check-up from Connie's mom, and Steven walks into the wrong room at the worst time- mid-conversation with her telling Kevin his illness was cured.

Kevin in Kevin Party laughs and says ' I'm beefing with a 10-year-old. I'm so pathetic. I don't get why he hates me. Everyone always has nothing but good stuff to say about Steven, but me... Not so much. I know... that's my fault. But I'm not always going to be here to be the Bad guy. I have my own stuff. I can't play this game with Steven anymore. "

And then he dies in Spinel's attack with a Spire, causing a cave in and he gets caught in it and falls to his death trying to help Sour Cream and Lars...

With how I write Kevin, I really tried to make him an outcast in as many ways as possible.

Everyone in Beach City seems to be used to the idea that Steven wanders around like he owns the place and is everyone's favorite guy. But Kevin dislikes this and is actively jealous of Steven. But he also has his own stuff to deal with so he can't spend all his free time beefing with a 10 year old.

He lives outside of Steven's universe and isn't a part of it, except that Steven seems to actively HATE him. Which is weird, because Steven gets along with Gems that have done far worse to him than Kevin has.

With the story of Stephen and Kevin, I tried to explore the idea of Steven being flawed. Hating Kevin for no good reason and trying to justify it - Only for Kevin, who is older and smarter, to actively stonewall and dismantle every attempt to do that.

Over time, their relationship gets worse. Kevin dies and is reborn as Pink Kevin. He becomes Steven's servant but is unwilling to do anything outside of the things he's ordered to do by PinkDiamond! Stephen.

He can't disobey an order, like Pearl couldn't with Pink Diamond. with Rose. So he had to do what he's told. And he makes it very clear how unhappy he is about this.

Steven doesn't make him do bad things at first, but he does lose his temper... like Pink did. And does something somewhat echoing Pink Pearl's issue. But this time... Steven breaks out of it enough to pull back and not actually hurt Kevin. The break still forms... out of Ptsd. And Kevin's mask of self-assured assholery melts into a crying, fearful mess.

Showing Steven that Kevin is not the horrible person he pretended Kevin was. Reminding him of something that Kevin Party was supposed to tell him. But he ignored it, in this version of the story, Connie and Kevin talk and form a truce without Steven being there.

think about how different Steven universe the show would've been if the pov shifted from Steven to say... Sour Cream, or the Crystal Gems pov without him being there.

Imagine how interesting it would be to see these grown adults or teenagers get to live their lives outside of Steven being the main character?

The episode where Steven bubbles the teenagers who are now grown up because he can't handle change really shows how stagnant the story telling of Steven-only pov is...

Imagine if she got to see an episode from Greg's pov or Pearls? Imagine if the Ruby/Sapphire stories happened without Steven there. Or we saw them get to talk about Rose without Steven there, making them have to coach what they say cause a kid is there.

Think of a epsisode from SPINEL'S POV without Steven there. Or Spinel and Pink Pearl meeting and bonding outside of Steven.

Imagine the characters being able to have moments without having to loudly shout about how she feels out loud so Steven knows.

it would probably be more of a soap opera... but someone should really write that fan fict.

Remembering that steven accidentally healed connies eyes and it was never brought up as a negative... when connie didn't ask to be healed.

Stephen offering to heal kevin of his nerve pain and kevin refusing it. The compromise being that Steven gives kevin a perfume bottle with healing ( he says ittears ) liquid and kevin can use that whenever he decides to.

Kevin or Kirian is my placeholder oc who takes the spot of Kevin in Steven Universe but unlike canon Kevin, he's capable of growth and apoligized to Stevonnie in Kevin Party.

Connie and Kevin have a understanding about things because of their similar upbringing with strict parents but Kevin tells her she's lucky. Her parents love her.

Kevin leaves Beach City for Gravity falls....and either comes back during the movie where Spinel causes earthquakes and dies during one of them.... ( possibly connie rushes back and they fuse. )

Steven gets his power back and Stevonnie is able to save him like with lars... but makes Kevin his servant and became a tryant.... until the events of Future.

Steven or Stephen, apoligized to Kevin and let's go. Leaving Beach city to travel but follows Kevin to Gravity falls out of curiosity.

clara and kev having 2-3 other siblings is something i completely forgot about until i read old threads... it's funny how i completely forget something i made up for especially my retooled oc and my actual oc.

kevin in the show is basically free real estate and my ver of Kevin is basically a separate character... because i added a bunch of random silly headcanons and some less silly ones.

new stuff :

- kevin loves lemons and will add it to pizza but, also will eat a lemon like an apple.

- Kevin ran away from home. is homeless despite living with his grandparents ( they lock the doors at 9pm regardless of whether Kevin is inside or not.. He frequently sleeps in his car.

Kevin's legal name is Kiran Raval but he prefers that only close individuals call him Kiran. Kevin is his public name and Kiran is the name that only close friends or family get to call him.

- Kevin is secretly kind and sensitive but is convinced that he's not supposed to show those feelings because that's ' not manly' (he's essentially the foil to Steven. ) so he acts like a jerk.

family : he is a twin, Clara is his twin sibling. at first identified as a girl but after completing college and landing a stable job she identified as nonbinary/gender non-conforming. Kevin and Clara's parents are not accepting of Clara or Kevin's identities. Kevin came out as a boy early on and ran away after he was not being accepted. his grandparents are not all that accepting either but will try to use the right pronouns and use Kiran ( gendernuetralish name) to refer to Kevin. main verse : he lived on the streets until his grandparents found him at age 14 and took him in. Universe Falls: Kevin is taken in by Fiddleford McGucket (or Haderon/Fiddles. )

Clara kept the last name ANGELONI ( that is their father’s last name ) while Kevin decided to pick the name of the Grandparents that took care of him.  Clara was cared for by the paternal ones while Kevin was taken in by the maternal ones.

slight change since i've made UNIVERSE FALLS his MAIN VERSE...

Kevin was ' raised ' by his maternal grandparents to a point but he ran away because of how they neglected him - staying out during the day, not stocking the fridge , locking the door to the house and not giving him a key...etc. finally they retire to Florida or some sunny place without telling him.

Kevin ends up being adopted by Fiddles ( Haderon. ) despite Fiddles efforts to distance himself from Kevin, he ends up becoming kevin's DAD whether he likes it or not.
