Random thing but I always wondered if it was intentional or not that Lapis was the only gem never brought back and turned into a Lunarian. I could be reading too far into it but there's just something about hearing how there wasn't enough "head memories" to restore Lapis by Ghost Quartz, a character who was only just a thin layer of gem over Cairngorm yet somehow had enough material on their own to be put together and turned.

There's also how Phos had clearly lost a decent chunk of Lapis' pieces considering how their head looks during the final attack on the gems. This and the fact that, considering Padpa, the Lunarians could also create artificial gem parts to make an un-whole gem function again, it feels too odd to me that Lapis is the one limit to how much damage a gem can take until the Lunarians can't fix them.

Now, the reason I wonder if this is intentional or not is purely because of Aechmea knowing the connection that Cairngorm and Ghost had with Lapis and also knowingly of Lapis' nature and was worried about the idea of Lapis taking Cairngorm away from him. Ghost themself says that Cairngorm always listened to Lapis and Cairngorm, when taking Lapis' head away to give to Phos, comments on how Phos is making them give up an important treasure. Which is a moment of Cairngorm alone and talking to themself.

While opinions do seem to vary on the whole of the relationship, I feel like it is intentional for Aechmea and Cairngorm's relationship to be seen as somewhat odd. The reason I say this is because of one specific scene, the one proceeding Cairngorm getting rid of the last bits of Ghost. Where Aechmea points out that Ghost is still with Cairngorm and that it was actually Ghost this whole time making Cairngorm care for Phos before walking away. Right after this, suddenly Cairngorm is haunted by the visage of Ghost which causes them to have an extremely violent reaction and try and tear themself apart before Aechmea finds them and helps them out. After this, Ghost is gone and Cairngorm is completely infatuated by Aechmea.

It's always just been weird to me that, after all this time with Cairngorm, it's only when Aechmea points out tiny remnants of Ghost still in them that Ghost is suddenly presented as this manipulative force towards Cairngorm that allows them no control over their body which just......kinda makes no sense to me? Ghost is never once presented as hostile towards Cairngorm or anything like that until Aechmea suddenly starts implying that Cairngorm's decisions aren't there own. That they're in a toxic relationship with no control over their own actions or desires. Then, suddenly, Cairngorm and Aechmea are in a relationship together after this with a dramatic difference in Cairngorm's personality with them being extremely lovey dovey to Aechmea who then gives them the role of his bride, without telling them what it means, and also kissing them with full tongue, ALSO without telling them what that means before doing it. There's also of course him yelling at Cairngorm for going after their friends.

I don't know, it's kinda of weird having a character be suddenly revealed to have apparently been in a controlling and abusive relationship only for them to then enter a relationship with someone that has repeatedly been essentially abusing and torturing a former friend of theirs (which he says they never really cared for) for literal decades, does stuff and assigns them roles without properly telling them what it is even after doing it, and yells at them for going off on their own......I'm gonna think the relationship is a tad bit toxic.

In short, I still think Aechmea's extremely weird and am sad at how little content Ghost has because they're one of my favorites.
