@gaypotatoqueen
Name me one fucking way that s*ssn*ra is better than SESSRIN
1. Naraku is an adult. I know, wild concept for y’all but take a deep breath.
2. Sesshomaru has canonically been inside him.
3. Gay ships will forever be superior to straight ships. It’s just a fact.
And then I think that that becomes a thing where Shawn's the one who actually believes in their love. Even more than Cory and Topanga at times. So it was weird for Shawn to be rooting and I thought, well, I don't know. I guess maybe if it had just been clear like, Topanga and I are taking a break, or we, you know, we said we and then it would be like, and then Cory's not able to do that. And Shawn's saying, you have to be able to do this to try it out and know that you can move on. But it's, it, it, I don't know why they left it kind of messy. I mean, I understand real life is messy and, you have these sort of like half breakups. But I guess I kind of want to just know for, for the sake of whether I should be on Shawn's side or not. Because I can't help but be like, Shawn shut up dude. -Rider
Hey yall bc I've been keeping an eye on this the Itch.Io bundle for the PCRF is now live
Palestinian Relief Bundle: 373 items for $8.00
they had an issue last week with itch.io so they had to postpone opening for a few days but for those who wanted to d/ona/te it's here!
Cory runs over. It's for him. He takes the phone from his confused brother, Shawn. Shawn scolds him. You're supposed to call me Dawn. Cory asks, why is Jennifer there? Shawn corrects him again. Dennifer. -Danielle
It's so ridiculous and outlandish and crazy. And I loved every second of it. -Will
And also so exactly what I think Shawn would do. It's exactly the way Shawn would handle it. I love it so much. -Danielle
These phone call scenes are just the best. They're some of the best scenes ever. -Rider
...This is why this episode exists to see Shawn and Cory being Star Crossed lovers. It's so funny. And I love it now. So Cory asks, how could he just let some girl tell him he can't see his best friend? It's wrong. Just wrong. There's silence on the other line. And Cory asks if Shawn's still there. Shawn responds I was just listening to the sound of your voice and thinking about the old days. -Danielle
Your reads Rider, your reads on these things are so spot on good. I mean, it's just, you're like riding that line so perfectly. -Will
You just commit to it as as as a lover. You know? And, you play the the reality of it. I know, but it's, but that's, you know, that's..comedy when taken seriously...Characters take the serious and that's where, yeah, it was so fun. I remember just being like, this is so fun and funny....I just remember Ben And I loving this scene. Like, I remember loving doing this scene. And I was, I feel like I was able to see Ben somehow we coordinated when we like did our moves. And I'm not sure if they brought a monitor or if where they positioned me, I could see him. So we could do that. But I just remember discovering like, I mean, I think we already knew how funny it was, but I remember living the comedy and just having so much fun. Like, I just remember, you know, this is, this is, I feel like these last four episodes have been me and Ben. Having so much fun and like, it's just, we've clicked into this gear as actors, as, as co-actors that I remember. You know, we had a mind meld, we had a mind meld as actors and we were always having fun and we always had each other's backs. And there was just this complete sense of confidence and and comfort with each other. -Rider
I remember this killing at the run through. Like just crushing it at the run throughs. It was so good. -Will
So the audience is hootin and hollering and they love Coran or Shory. What would it be? What would your, what would your relationship name be? -Danielle
Probably Shory. Yeah. -Rider
Shawn jokingly asks, "You didn't bring me any flowers?" and then Cory pulls out a mini bouquet; "I did. I just didn't know if it was appropriate." Shawn tells him it's not. ...
Is this the beginning of the Cory/Shawn--
Romance?
--bromance, the real-- It is right? Because we haven't self-consciously made jokes like "I didn't think it was appropriate, but I did do it." Have we done that yet? Where Cory and Shawn are acting like lovers, but...
Right, but like they're not sure-- I don't know. In some ways I feel like this is maybe the first one that's really on the nose. Like, "I brought you flowers". But with that said, I also feel like that's kind of like-- One of the things I remember that I loved so much is when you were telling Cory to hold your hand, the way he was holding Topanga's hand.
Right, I'm like, "big hands". Right.
And then somebody walks in, and you guys aren't embarrassed that you guys could've been-- In some sense, this feels like the very first. Yeah, it's been there.
But this is the first self-conscious, we're kind of treating each other like we're in a relationship. But yeah, and this is gonna be like an ongoing joke. This is the next three years. This is gonna be a thing.
I do love it. As Topanga would say, "my whole life".

Wasn’t feeling great so watched the Boy Meets World episode, An Affair to Forget — top 5 of the series, for sure, but such a good one for anyone who loves Shawn/Cory.
I think it’s interesting how the show obviously plays on the romantic undertones of the dynamic but never mocks it. It’s really intelligent in how it plays the situation out.
But some of the dialogue has me questioning what the process of this episode looked like. I know it’s coming up on the rewatch podcast and I’m so curious what they’ll say because Michael Jacobs was known for giving the middle finger to the network, and he’s gone o n record as saying he would have approached Shawn/Cory as a romance to some degree, at least, had he been allowed by ABC.
But this episode inarguably has some of the most romantic dialogue of the entire show. And then, randomly, they’ll be some weird, hetero cis man verbiage thrown in for some reason, like “we have to meet, I have to see you … so we can talk sports and stuff.” Or Topanga’s, “I’ve never pressed you on your feelings for Shawn …….. because there’s just something about a best friend you can’t replace.”
I’d argue there’s even a beat in the way these lines are delivered like they are an INTENTIONAL tag on that Jacobs potentially added because of network notes? Like, we will only allow this if you somehow remind the audience that these! boys! are! straight! This must be about the importance of FRIENDSHIP not two teens figuring out their sexuality! No confusing feelings or attraction here! It’s sooooo weird, and out of place with the rest of the tone, and I just really hope the podcast broaches this. (It’s also a great Eric episode, so just fingers crossed they really give this the focus it deserves.)
We really could have had it all!

And Cory assures them, if we devote the next two weeks to studying in the library, we got no problem. And just in time we get an optical flip. The camera cuts to Cory and Shawn at various locations with their unopened books in their laps not studying. And they're at home, watching TV at Turner's, watching TV at Chubby's... -Danielle
Chubby's has a tv suddenly. -Rider
Apparently. I know that's where you go for everything in this town is Chubby's. -Will
It does make sense that Chubby's would be the sports bar burger place. That like that they would have a TV for that kind of thing. We've just never utilized it. So I love that they did it. -Danielle
And we probably never will again. -Rider
I remember you guys going all out for the fight. I remember Yeah, during rehearsal, all that stuff. You guys were like, let's do it. Let's do it, let's do it. -Will
Well I think that's part of the problem is that we clearly loved this fight. -Rider
Yeah, You guys were excited about this. -Danielle
You can see that we're excited to do like stunts and to be up in each other's faces to a point that it doesn't really make sense. It's like it's out of character. And and not out of character...I don't know. It's just, it's so dramatic and it's so serious. Like you can just tell in our faces that we're like really looking forward to like doing, rolling around on the ground and Yeah. Yeah. Doing this fight. I don't know. -Rider
It did lead to one of my favorite lines of the entire series though. -Will
Did You know you were fighting each other? -Rider
Yep. -Will
Yep. I know. I love it too. -Danielle
The boys start fighting Cory pushes Shawn into the lockers and then onto the floor. Everyone around them starts screaming, fight, fight, fight. Mr. Williams and Mr. Turner Run up pulling them off of each other and yelling at the other students to get back to class. And then Turner looks confused saying, hunter Matthews. Mr. Williams asks, did you guys know you were fighting each other? -Danielle
Love it. -Will
Very funny. Great delivery. -Danielle
This Is actually the first fight we've ever had on camera. -Rider
But I'm telling you, you can, you can super critique it. 'cause it's you. I I was in, I was like, this to me feels like, although I had written all my little criticisms throughout it, this payoff for me when we revealed you had a brother and that was the underlying angst you had been feeling and the thing you weren't sure how to handle all of that felt like worthy and like a worthwhile rollercoaster ride. I loved it. So this to me was kind of where I had my Cory/Topanga Garfunkel montage moment for Cory and Shawn. -Danielle
Are we just going to ignore the look he gave Cory?
He’s so in love.
