Sri Meenakshi Temple
Also known as the Meenakshi Amman Temple, the Sri Meenakshi Temple is a historic Hindu temple located in the holy city of Madurai, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva (in the form of Sundareswarar or "Beautiful Lord") and his consort, Goddess Parvati (in the form of Minakshi). The complex houses 12 magnificent gopurams or towers that are elaborately sculpted and painted for the representation of these two gods, as well as quite a few others.
The temple that forms the heart and lifeline of the 2500 year old city of Madurai Temple has a stunning architecture and a significant testimony for Vishwakarma Brahmins for their master architecture in sculpting this temple. It was a forerunner in the election for the modern "Seven Wonders of the World" for its architectural importance. The temple is a significant symbol for the Tamil people, and has been seen in ancient Tamil literature ever since, though the present structure is believed to have been built only recently in the early 17th century.

The Pagoda Forests
This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of China's most well preserved relics, resting only a few hundred yards away from the Shaolin Monastery. The pagodas vary in the date in which they were built -- the exact date of each pagodas' contruction is engraved on one of its' walls -- but the most recent ones date as far back as 600 and 700 A.D. (during the Sui and Tang dynasties).
Sunset over the Crystal Mosque (Masjid Kristal)
More sophisticated architecture and the possession of an IT department gives off that fact that this building is one of the more recent monuments of Malaysia. The mosque rests on top of the delta of a river branching off of Kenyir Lake, where the water feeds into the South China Sea.
The Spotted Lakes of British Columbia
The lake appears to be a normal one during fall, winter, and a small portion of spring; but during the summer, most of the lake becomes evaporated. Dozens upon dozens of crater-like mineral deposits rest at the bottom of the lake and become visible during the warm weather. The mineral deposits span about 25 feet on average and contain many different concentrations of magnesium sulfate, and calcium/sodium phosphates, which gives them a distinct yellow, orange, green, or blue color.
Albarracin, Spain
Home to many buildings that were architecturally spectacular for the time in which they were built, Albarracin was a former kingdom that housed many nobles. The city looks over the Guadalivar River as it sits on the 3,400 foot high Universale Mountains. Despite the place having scenic cobblestone roads that would take one back in time, it is not exactly a popular tourism area. The town is usually left in peace, allowing the buildings within it to be slightly untouched by time.
Fjaðrárgljúfur, Iceland
The canyon was a product of erosion and build-up of palagonite over quite a few millennia. It has the typical yet beautiful earthy dark brown and green found all throughout Iceland.
Song: Halcyon Artist: Ellie Goulding Album: Halcyon
The beginning of the song reminds me of a drop of sunshine splashing, if that makes sense. Gosh I miss summer!
The Isolated Aogashima Island, Japan
Not only being the southernmost and most isolated island governed by Tokyo in the Philippine Sea, Aogashima is the least populated island in the country with just over 200 inhabitants. This is mostly due to the lack of transportation to and from the island. One can only access the island by boat or by helicopter. A smaller and more historical reason would be because a large portion of the island's inhabitants perished from an eruption of the volcano in the center of the island in the 1700's.
Since there is a lack of transportation, the island doesn't receive a lot of tourism, which is a shame because the volcano is interestingly placed near the center of the island, and farmers use the land on the volcano to grow crops, making an interesting design on it.

THANK YOU! It's a preset theme, but I've been working really hard to edit it to my liking. :D

Just a little above average, and I don't even like reading that much, unless it's a tertiary source (like manuals on how to do computer geek stuff). :D
Also, I added Russian-American novelist Ayn Rand's book: Anthem. I was surprised she wasn't on the list, despite her bringing concepts such as individualism to popularity and creating her own philosophies such as that of objectivism.
Ottoman Calligraphic Roundels of the Hagia Sophia.
Kazasker Mustafa Izzet Efendi was a very famous calligrapher who created eight roundels for the Hagia Sophia in Ottoman, Turkey. Each roundel has scriptures that aren't exactly a single complicated ideograph, but a uniquely arranged group of characters from an Arabic dialect to represent important Islamic people (representing them through actual images or paintings was looked down upon). Uthman, who was one Muhammad's companion and a compiler of the Quran, is represented in this pictured roundel.

Good Shepherd Cathedral in San Sebastián, Spain.
The Good Shepherd Cathedral is actually a close cluster of religious buildings within Spain's province of Gipuzkoa, the most remarkable one being the building of San Sebastián. This Roman Catholic building stands a good 75 meters tall and is home to the most important network of neoclassic organs maintained in Spain. There is a large organ surrounded by colossal pipes, and a smaller one located in another close-by presbytery.

Lotus Temple, New Dehli, India
This building of complex design (not to be confused with the equally beautiful Lotus Temple of Ubud, pictured here) is used primarily for people of the Bahá'í Faith. Their beliefs revolve around the emphasis of spiritual unity for all humankind.
Perhaps the most popular symbol associated with their belief is titled "The Greatest Name," which has a nine-pointed star. The Lotus Temple sort of mimics the symbol since it is nine-sided as well, and shows how the Bahá'ís' faith plays a small part in their architecture.
