My dads didn’t have a problem with it, one of them said I might be too “young” to know, but that I could identify with whatever I wanted. Casual aphobia hurts. Then I said “Now I can go with you to pride parades and LGBT events!!” Their facial expressions changed. “You’re not LGBT. Being asexual doesn’t make you LGBT” one of them said. I was so hurt. “Yes it does!” I said. They began yelling. At each other. At me. “Our child is an inclusionist! What are we supposed to do?!” “Don’t worry, honey. She’ll come around.
