happy birthday to my au version of c&a
this one actually took a little bit of research to do right and i do not mean just how such documents would be structured or worded or even called in this specific time period and location
but what the technology was at the time
because my first inclination was to do this like an old school type writer but then i had to consider that people were already printing things out with computers at this stage so i decided to look around for some information on this
and to the best of my understanding legal offices still produced many filings using ibm selectric typewriters though early laser printers started being used around the same time too
and twelve point courier font was the default font used for legal documentation
so i for some reason bothered to dig up this exact version of courier even though the difference between it and its successor is hardly noticeable
walking a line between trying to make this grounded and avoiding it appearing too real as i invoke real institutions for this
so i put in the effort to make this look kind of authentic but also did enough weathering to where it is clearly a prop
people who actually try to fake historic documents often get overzealous with weathering and it ends up looking like a movie prop
that and i needed the weathering to obscure the address
i did the same with the business card because i have an idea for the general location of the c&a building but i do not want to make up a fictional address for it
instead it is meant to be somewhat mysterious or else forgotten like it exists in the folds between space rather than in the space itself
just imagine there is an extra patch of land somewhere out there where the building is located
as for the progress on the au itself
development is going well
i keep having this issue of getting stuck on a minor element and moving onto something else and suddenly steamrolling through it with productive work
i decided to reorganize some of my errant notes and more or less position then chronologically in relation to one another and group them by themes
was a good idea as i now have something approaching outlines for more chapters
and for a while now i had just the prologues and the idea for the first chapter before i had moved on to working on the major scenes happening further down the line and growing out more chapters outwards from there
but after reorganizing these notes i suddenly ended up writing out detailed skeletons for the first four chapters and have given myself a better idea of the general direction for the chapters thereafter
i had been concerned about the connective tissue between major events but they are coming together all on their own at this stage thanks to these notes
i still have more notes to add into this from my hand written notes and there are
dot dot dot
several pages of those
kinda got into the habbit of writing more notes by hand which is kind of annoying as i have to copy them over into digital
but having said that i actually found a benefit in this
because i tend to just delete some of my digital notes once i believe i have incorporated them into the structure but having some of the notes exist separately had been useful and good thing that at least some of those notes survived deletion by existing in my written stuff first
i have also realized that keeping notes for my own thoughts and opinions about the events and morals of my story is important
you would think that since you are the author you should just know all of it by heart and this is true for all the major aspects but lesser ones can slip through the cracks
also because stories are living things you can end up discovering themes and parallels and ideas that developed in your own writing without conscious input on your part
so documenting those particular observations becomes crucial
would highly recommend even

Jokes aside I think this was a really good comic. I wish it had been longer but I understand the amount of work that goes into it. I would love to see some more comics from this person though!
It's weird being back on tumblr and posting again. I want to make this account separate from what most of my other online presence is. But I'm having trouble coming up with a username.
I think the weirdest thing about tadc is that it feels like my fnaf phase from back in like 2017ish, where I was a little demon who wanted to consume all fnaf related media. The little shit was watching mmd's of one of da games songs about fnaf sl. And now I'm just constantly looking for comics about or featuring tadc. If you have suggestions I would love to hear them!
