everyone’s talking about how that was the last time ahsoka sees anakin before everything goes wrong but it was also the very last time rex will ever see anakin, in any capacity… rex never, ever sees anakin again and i am SAD

The last time Obi Wan went to confront Maul, he lost Satine. This time he’s not falling into his trap.

Honestly, like the common theme whenever Obi Wan’s had to face Maul?

Every time, it’s taken him off-guard and someone else has died for it.

First time? Padawan, had never fought a Sith before. Qui Gon dies.

Second time? Was not prepared for strength of Maul and Savage’s assault, Adi Gallia dies.

Third time? Didn’t even know Maul was on Mandalore, fell right into the trap. Satine dies.

Political issues aside, Obi Wan by now knows better than anyone that one does not simply waltz into a confrontation with Maul with the bare scrapings of a plan and hope.

He knows by now that running on his emotions and desire to get revenge will be exactly what Maul wants, could distract him again, and this time he is NOT going to risk losing Anakin, losing Ahsoka, Cody, anyone else, by going into an uncertain situation with Maul again.
