boy howdy is this a complicated answer

i made it with my cricut and procreate, BUT i don't take credit for the drawing really..?? it was inspired by kerin cunningham's heaven help us pin and shirt, and i didn't want to straight rip her drawings. i made this a few years ago, and remember absolutely losing all brain cells trying to do my own simplified version of a seraphim to run through the cricut program. so i'm pretty sure what i ended up doing was layering a metric ton of different seraphim stock photos and simplifying it down to how many wings i wanted and where, so it was a combination of a bunch of different elements and then i lined it all together. but as an artist, even if i didn't straight knock someone else's drawings, i do still feel morally gray for even using stock for personal use lol

so in all honesty when i have more time, i have every intention of sitting down with it to make something exclusively my own. but at the time, i knew i needed something very simple to run through the cricut, and it was going on my car and i had no intention of selling it. soooo if i were to do it again for either myself or others, i would 100% prefer to do a different seraphim now that i learned from that project, just to sit right with my soul lmao

what started as just getting a frame for my souvenirs (except for the x's sunburned onto my eyes, those are one of a kind baby), turned into a very emotional little project. there's something so full circle about this band breaking up on my mom's birthday, and i made a promise to myself at 13 that i would be at barricade if i ever got to see them. it is so once in a lifetime that 12 years later, i have kept that promise twice now, and kept it for the third time on my own birthday in my city. i saw so many of my favorite people, and met so many new. when i had the idea to print maybe a couple little me's with mcr merch on to put in the frame, i had forgotten how many versions of myself i was carrying with me to this show. mcr has been my ride or die since i was a little kid, and they got me through some of the worst moments of my life so i could see this one. i still get teary eyed thinking about this show a week later, and i'm sure i will for a long time.

my favorite detail is the screenshot of my dad sending me a video from his semi the morning we got tickets. he said the local radio station started playing wttbp as soon as i triggered his cameras, and when i got the tickets, said it must have been a sign. it's times like these i remember someone somewhere is looking out for me. i'll remember all of this forever. the stars aligned just once, and i lived to see it. all these versions of me were right there too. i couldn't have done it without this band. my chemical romance is not just an idea, it's forever 🖤❤️🖤
