i was telling my friend how sometimes to fall asleep i imagine in great detail a scenario where i am deeply betrayed by a close friend (who has been made up for this scenario) in such a public and unambiguous way that everyone rallies around me in support and i am unanimously declared the Victim and am lauded for handling the betrayal maturely and with my signature good humor. i am aware, as i said to my friend while explaining this, that this is most certainly not a healthy way of working through whatever the hell my brain is working through and i’m actively trying to stop myself from doing it often, but it is one of my most foolproof ways to fall asleep and sometimes the struggle is too much for me.

anyway the reason i’m making this post is because my friend heard all that, nodded seriously, then said “i’m pretty sure geno does that too.” and that really made me take a good hard look at myself. i think he DOES do this. i’m not sure this is the club of two i want to be in. geno is many things but i don’t know that he’s my #mentalhealthgoals

I know the twins probably won’t be on the roster this year but I think it would be really funny if they were and geno never found out there were twins on the team. he just thought it was the same guy and that guy was always turning up just when you thought he was somewhere else. “wouldn’t he see them sitting together though?” you might ask and to that I would say do you really think he’s paying attention to the rookies

I love asking people how their parents met. You always get an interesting reply. My best friend’s parents met on the relatively new internet in 1999. My other friend’s parents met at Burger King when one was the manager and the other was a regular customer. My parents met at the beach because they were neighbors in their rental houses, mom was on a church trip and dad was getting blackout drunk every night with his friends next door.
