Xiao, Diluc, Childe, Kaeya - saying “I love you”
Xiao
You were sitting with Xiao on the rooftop of Wangshu Inn, enjoying a comfortable evening in each other’s presence as you admired the sky.
The sky is pretty for sure, but you are more beautiful than that, and he can’t help but tilt his head towards you every so often, just to get a quick glance of your face before swiftly turning his gaze away. Right in this moment, he doesn’t care about the stars, and if he were to be completely honest, he’d simply grab your head into his hands just to stare into your eyes for the rest of the night until you’d get so bored of him that you’d fall asleep.
His mind is a complete blur. Your touch is the only thing that he can think about right now, and you can feel his hand on your back as he wraps it around you, resting it on your waist. You try to look towards him, yet he’s facing the sky, purposefully not looking at you, so you simply place your arm on his thigh and turn your head back to the sky.
A soft smile spreads across his lips, his heart overflowing with joy at such a simple gesture on your part: one so small for you, yet tremendous for him. It prompts him to be bolder, and in the heat of the moment, he turns his head towards you and places a soft kiss on your cheek.
Xiao only smiles at you when you look back at him, and places his hand on your cheek, closing the distance between you with a soft kiss on your lips, a kiss that churns your insides and sends ripples of goosebumps down your spine.
“I love you”, you whisper once he pulls away. He smiles once again, feeling so warm he could melt into your arms, runs his thumb back and forth over your skin, before completely losing himself to the moment.
“I love you too”, he echoes. “I love you so much it makes me feel afraid.”
“Afraid of what?” you push.
“Afraid of everything being nothing but a dream” he’d confess, embarrassed at what he said, his eyes darting away, his cheeks slightly pink.
“It’s not. I’m here with you, now, tomorrow and forever” you reassure him, catching his lips in another kiss, a kiss that seems to last forever as the starry sky becomes nothing but an afterthought.
Diluc
Diluc’s day was filled with needless paperwork – just boring and repetitive formalities that somehow piled up and that needed to be sorted out.
For this reason, once his day was over, he was completely and thoroughly exhausted – barely holding himself straight as he left the mansion, scurrying on the streets to get to your house faster. It’s embarrassing, he thinks to himself, how dependent on you he’s become, how much of an impact your mere presence has on his day, how you seeing you could make his day so much better while your absence would make him turn sour.
He knocks on your door, waits for you to open up, and once you do, he doesn’t even wait for you to greet him, he pulls you in into his arms, pressing you against his body, he places a soft kiss on your forehead, then rests his chin on your head, and closes his eyes.
“Could we stay like this for a little while?” he begs, and you can only listen, your heart fluttering inside your chest, still shaken from how bold and impatient Diluc was. You didn’t mind it, after all, not when his chest was so warm, not when his arms perfectly wrapped around you as if they were made just for that.
A few moments pass in silence, moments when all you could hear were only your heartbeats, synced together in harmony as Diluc simply basks in the warmth of your presence. He needs nothing more and nothing less.
“You know, before having you in my life, I used to be completely lonely”, his words plunged the silence. “The funny thing is, I didn’t even realize how lonely I was. I would just wander around the mansion, hang around hilichurl camps and lean on random trees. Looking back now, it seems silly. I was…” – a slight pause as Diluc searches for his words – “empty.”
You can do nothing but listen to him, squeezing him closer into your embrace, soothingly running your hand up and down his back as your heart clenches in your chest at his confession. It hurts to hear it, it hurts to hear how much he’s suffered, how alone he’s been.
“Then I met you”, he continues, bringing his hand up to your head and stroking your hair gently, in a wordless ‘thank you’. “I met you, and whenever I was with you, I wouldn’t feel alone. I’d thirst for your embrace, I’d want to see you everyday, I’d want to go on walks with you everyday, I’d want you. I… completely belong to you now. My heart belongs to you. I love you. I love you so much, thank you for everything.”
You were flying, you were soaring, your heart that was hurting a few moments ago was now brimming with happiness, and you could only laugh in response, echoing his feelings as you told him how much he meant to you and how much you loved him.
Childe
As much as Childe hates to admit it, when it comes to you, he easily gets needy, and those are moments when he needs more reassurance than usual that he’s loved. He’s never been good at hiding how he feels, so when he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, when he pulled away only to tell you that he loves you, you immediately noticed a sudden flash of worry sticking up his face.
He may not say it out loud, but he’s begging, begging you with his eyes to say that you love him back, begging you to ease his sudden fear. It’s silly, he knows it, holding is his breath as if he’s confessing his feelings for the first time, as if you weren’t his lover, yet he can’t help it, he needs to hear it.
You draw in closer, clashing your lips against his ear as you pull him into your arms, feeling his body twitch in surprise, then relax in content.
“I love you too” you coo into his ear, only to hear his exhale of relief followed by his giddy laugh, his worries disappearing as fast as they’ve appeared. With just a few words, you’ve expelled any worry that he might’ve had, taming his restless heart with so little effort. Sometimes he feels he needs you more than you need him, a floating fear that you brush off whenever you tell him that you love him back.
He kisses the corner of your mouth, then he catches your lips into a long, deep kiss, making your chest feel heavy, making your body ache with how much you loved him. He pulls away just for one second, your hot breaths mingling together as he reminds you, as if in a haze, that you mean everything to him and that he never wants to let you go.
“I love you so much”, he’d finish, unable to stop himself from giving in to the urge to kiss you. With that, he hungrily crashes his lips against your once again into a long, desperate kiss.
Kaeya
You are sitting in Kaeya’s lap, facing him as your legs are comfortably wrapped around his body. His lips are warm, trailing your jawline with soft kisses, never going down your neck and never going up to your lips. He is just fooling around, mesmerized with how responsive you were to his touches, flattered with how you followed his lead without any trace of complaint.
Your lean your head back, letting out a moan when you feel his wet tongue slipping against your skin, sinking your fingers into his shoulders as Kaeya continues in his path, stopping right under your ear.
Bringing your chin down, you give him a probing gaze, your eyebrows furrowing in confusion at his behaviour as you ask him why he stopped.
Kaeya only hums in response, raises his hand to your cheek, his thumb going back and forth against your skin. He’s smiling softly, as if only to himself, his eyes are staring into yours, full of love and adoration. His fingers are so cold that their touch almost stings, and you bring your palm up to place it over them, prompting a small laugh out of Kaeya.
“It’s a secret. Come closer so I can whisper it to you”, he replies, wrapping his hands around your waist as he pulled you closer to him.
He’s a tease: he places a soft kiss at the back of your ear, then one on your earlobe, sending a dizzying wave of goosebumps though your body. His whole body is overwhelmingly warm, and, cradled in his arms and spoiled by his kisses, you don’t mind not getting a response, you feel content just for being there, with him.
Right when you resigned in defeat, Kaeya allows himself a moment of sincerity, and, pressing his lips to your ear, squeezing you even closer to him, he finally whispers:
“It was nothing. Just remembered that I love you.”
And with that, you feel nothing but warmth when he buries his head into your shoulder, when you feel his hand going up and down your back as you squeeze him harder into your embrace.
