Monsieur la Rockstar
Objectively hilarious to think about Armand absconding to the one place he feels safest after the events of season 2. South Florida.
Armand is secretly a parrothead and was devastated by Jimmy Buffetâs passing
Can I talk about this for real though? Because Florida is such a perfect state for a vampire, ESPECIALLY Armand.
He canonically hunts down criminals and morally reprehensible people, and between MAGA and drug cartels, Florida has him covered.
We know how he feels about a silver fox. Florida is America's horny retiree capital.
Tourists! That no one will realize are missing for days or weeks! With very little idea where they are and more often than not drunk!
Manatees! I just think he would like them!
Stand Your Ground laws means if a kill ever goes sideways, he can always put a bullet in the body and claim it was self-defense.
He definitely watched at least the first four seasons of Dexter and knows that corpse disposal is a breeze.
"Daniel, look my beloved: the temperature has dropped below the threshhold necessary for cold-blooded reptiles to thrive. This iguana has fallen from its tree, paralyzed and helpless. It is not so different than we cold-blooded creatures, falling from God's grace..."
You can just buy an island. You can just buy an island.
The funniest part of Sinners was when the Native Americans just said âyeahhh good luck with thatâ
Wise man said, "Welp. alright baby girl. i'mma pray for your safety. Ciao. May the odds ever be in your favor."

âHeâs found a state of peace, which heâs never had,â Anderson said. âLouis has never, in any of his existences, has ever felt a sense of peace and calm. I think heâs always like, there is always an alarm going off somewhere in his head. And I think like heâs finally found this place of reconciliation, where heâs like, I am this. You know, I am this thing. I am the Vampire Louis, and if you have a problem with it, come get me. If youâre not going to, fine, but Iâm here. Iâm going to sit on my beautiful couch. Iâm going to look at my beautiful paintings. Iâm going to look at this skyline. Iâm going to think about my brother, who I loved. Iâm going to think about my sister and my daughter, who I loved. Heâs found himself.â
âI think thatâs what that final moment is, is like, heâs finally become what he was always supposed to be,â he continued, âand itâs kind of beautiful. Yeah, Iâm really proud of him for getting there.â
Jacob Anderson on the Season 2 Finale (x)
I love a show that will hold a shot on some art and expect you to know what youâre looking at
Writing an adaptation of The Vampire Chronicles without Claudia dying is kind of like writing an ASOIAF adaptation without Ned Stark dying. Her death changes everything that comes after it.
Havenât had the time to meta thoughts on IWTV s2 week by week but: structurally, for Armand, itâs trauma reenactment as genre exercise. All the worldâs a play and thereâs only one artistic director. For Armand to be freed from the medieval coven Lestat had to set a fire; for him to be freed from the Paris coven Louis had to make the theatre burn. Venice all the way down baybee! He could not prevent it! Like Jason Voorhees couldnât prevent himself from drowning in Crystal Lake.
And now Danielâs the chosen one, Charmander Mk III. Devilâs Minion has been happening onscreen, in Dubai, in real time. The only remaining question in ep 8 is whether the flames are those of metaphorical publication or if Real Rashid is gonna hafta haul a Parkinson patient down 100 flights of concrete fire stairs when the elevator goes out.
#I need to study Louis like a bug
The funniest possible place for Lestat to be at this very moment is under that cherry tree tbh. Someone make the books re this writerâs room *not* having read Tokyo Babylon in the 90s, is what Iâm saying.
I can't wait for the Queen of the Damned storyline because I know when Maharet has all the remaining vampires gathered up together in her lair that Daniel is going to call them something like "the homo Avengers" or "the Real Housewives of Oblivion" or "the '95 Chicago Bulls lineup if Jordan was a cannibal and Scottie Pippen was a pedophile."

Red on Maroon A 16-page IWTV (2022) fancomic about the vampire Armand and journalist Daniel Molloy visiting the Mark Rothko retrospective in 2024 Paris. Content mentions & warnings: The comic depicts Danielâs internalized ableism. Rothkoâs suicide is acknowledged but not discussed in detail. Thereâs angst, talk about kink and lots of fluff. Louis is mentioned as well as Danielâs daughters. Marius is not named but is hinted at. The comic is set up in post-Dubai-interview time and based on my knowledge about s1 of AMCâs IWTV with sprinkles of book canon. Some notes about the comic below:
hello, just wanted to say that you're such a great writer that i can't help but wonder what sort of literature you're into! do you have some favorite titles or authors?
Thanks for the compliment. :)
I imagine it wonât surprise anyone that I read a lot, and at this point in my life I hardly ever re-read, so itâs hard to call out favorites. I generally prefer concise to sprawling reads in fiction, and formalist approaches to realist. But I also read a ton of non-fiction and essays. Some names Iâve enjoyed in the past (kind of all over the place lol): Jorge Luis Borges, Italo Calvino, William Gibson, Samuel R. Delany, Jane Austen, Lois McMaster Bujold, Douglas Adams, Anne Rice, Terry Pratchett, Lawrence Durrell, Anne Carson, Robert McFarlane, Marguerite Yourcenar.
Books I enjoyed this year include âThe Dawn of Everythingâ by David Graeber and David Wengrow; âStay Trueâ by Hua Hsu; âSister Outsiderâ by Audre Lorde; âY/Nâ by Esther Yi; and the Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. I am most likely to read âSilver Nitrateâ by Sylvia Moreno-Garcia or âBiography of Xâ by Catherine Lacey next.
