On a school trip to DC with my daughter. She fell asleep on the plane and I did a little sketch to pass the time.

Thr other girls were so funny, they curled up in their hoodies and slept that way the whole trip (like 2 hrs).

Time puts the names next to the numbers because he has a hard time figuring out which month is which through the numbers. He also doodles Sarias Song while Twilight draws the Song of Healing, Dark copies the Ocarina doodle and the date Time used because the design most often used for Dark Link is him from OoT, he's just a copy of Time trying to be intimidating. Four doodles a minish at the bottom but it's a bit blended in with the grass, Time and Wild both found the book boring so instead of reading it they just drew on the card, Sky questions whether or not they read it and everyone else defends them saying the book was boring, it was. Twilight draws the wolf ears and tail on Time as well as Midnas helmet while Wind tries to cover everything in waves and sort of succeeds, Wild tries to draw a horse and is moderately successful though his attempt at Blue Nightshade and a Silent Princess were more successful. Fairies! Fairies everywhere! They love drawing Fairies, there are more on the back of the card! Dark doodles over a lot of Times drawings because he's a meanie but also copies him because that's his best frame of reference, Dark 🖤 you poor thing 🖤. Also, Koroks! Koroks everywhere! Wind and Wild love them :). Warriors draws his scarf and Legend draws himself and Ravio, Legend also accuses Warriors of showing off because he can't write in cursive himself.

And you will all be pleased to know that they got their apple pie for dinner!

I wanted to work on coloring eyeballs. So I made the chain's eyes. Can you recognize them all? I also used this as a opportunity to get better at picking out skin colors. Yay!

Which Link do you think has the best eyelashes? I had an intense debate about this with my daughters.

Yknow I don’t think we think about the Twilight and Wind dynamic and possibilities. Like, these two are diametrically opposed in so many ways? They’re both older brothers, they both have a connection to Time, they’re both succesors.

And yet! I think Wind unsettles Twilight sometimes. Because here is this blonde boy nearly young enough to be your little brother’s age and look at him, look at his maturity, his skills, his confidence in battle. Look at him handling things just fine, and even when you get hurt he stays productive and doesn’t even cry. It feels like failure in a distant way thats not very logical at all. Twilight wants to save Wind. He knows Wind doesn’t need it. Twilight chooses to guide Wild instead- because here is someone who needs a steady hand.

Meanwhile, I can easily see Wind liking Twilight but also keeping his distance kinda. Like, Wind is capable and skilled and he’s earned all that. He’s confident because he’s been the most able-bodied person in his family for a long while. Wind likes having capable companions … but ones that see him as lesser in some way? A companion that subconsciously equates him to a none-experienced, none-Hero kid, someone who Wind hasn’t been since long before he even met Twilight.

For all intents and purposes, Twilight is sometimes looking for a ghost of a child, which probably unsettles both of them sometimes.

I made a sky! I hate his face. But there are pretty lights. I have this terrible habit of drawing and fully rendering a character before even thinking about the background. Then I have to color over hours worth of work to make the character look like they maybe belong there. It never works. But that definitely didn't happen this time. Nooooooo.
