Full drawing. I didn’t want to give Wireface’s friend any particular look and preferred to keep it open to interpretation... But I also didn’t want to leave that part of the drawing blank. So I drew someone plain, yet (to me) fitting for Wireface. Maybe someone will be curious to see the unedited version.

Jack Abbot was a man of time.
All Abbot men were. He’d gotten his love for time efficiency from his father who’d gotten it from his father.
‘Military men lie down when the sun’s full on gone.’
That was his dad’s motto. And for the longest time, it was Jack’s too.
It still is.
‘24 hours. You’ve got 24 hours in a day to get shit done. Get it done.’ He’d defended once to an exhausted looking Robby while in the break room.
When Y/N had come along, so had the idea that maybe, just maybe, that mindset was a little bit.. Mm.. Toxic.
She hated how Jack pushed himself all the time. How he refused to admit when he was in pain or tired or needed a moment to decompress.
And tonight was no different.
Tonight, Jack had stumbled in from a 12-hour shift that had lasted from 3pm to 3am. He would’ve gone longer if it hadn’t been for Shen sending him home after seeing him walk down the hallway with a limp. You had seen the storm forming as you locked up your shop earlier. And by now, it was a full blown thunderstorm. You knew deep down that the rain would hurt Jack. His phantom pains would be on full blast tonight.
“What are you doing up?” Jack asks, concern somehow still present in his tired voice as he stands in the entry hallway of your brownstone. You frown lightly.
“Waiting for you. You said you’d be home by this time.” You say as you get up from the couch. Half asleep, but you had brewed a coffee at around midnight just so you could be coherent by now.
You move over to the stubborn 50-year old as he softly scolds you for not being in bed. He drops his bookbag by the shoe rack with a wince that he tries to hide. You gently cup his face with both hands, feeling his stubble that you absolutely adored.
“Jack. I waited up for you. Deal with it.” You mutter, tone light and teasing as he playfully glares at you before sighing heavily. You lead him to the bedroom, taking your time so he doesn’t feel the need to walk fast.
“I got it, I got it..” Jack tries quietly. You never knew how to explain it, but your favorite moments with Jack came in the middle of the night.
No, not like that.
You liked these moments. Where you two could whisper. Talk so softly in order to keep the comfortable silence.. well, comfortable. Pittsburgh was asleep, and you two were wide awake like kids at a sleepover. It felt tender, intimate. A moment where you two could really hear the small parts of each other’s tones that can’t be heard in the day time.
Like the slight gravel at the end of Jack’s voice when he’s done speaking, or the way he breathes in deep through his nose before he begins his next sentence.
You leave no room for arguments as you help Jack strip down. He tries grabbing your waist, tries laying you in bed, but your mind is made up. You know he’s in pain. And you’re not taking any excuse at face value.
Once he’s comfortable in his boxers, you kneel on the bed, beckoning him to sit on the edge of the mattress in front of you. He sighs a bit and settles in. “You’ve had a long day..” He tries as you grab the lotion he usually uses to rub your feet.
“So have you..” You say simply as you squeeze the coconut scented lotion in your hands and lather it about just to warm it up.
“I’ll survive.” He tries to snort in amusement. You smile a bit as you finally begin rubbing his shoulders. They’re tense. Broad. Like rubbing your hands along a table. Solid. You focus on the base of the neck as he sighs, all fight leaving his body..
“Yes. You will. Because I’m here.” You tease gently as you work your fingers along the cork of his neck as he leans back against you without meaning to.
“Did I ever tell you I love you?” He mumbles, the exhaustion clear in his tone now more than ever as you slide your hands along the length of his shoulders.
“Once or twice..” You joke before moving from the spot behind him so you can help detach his leg.
He helps as best as he can, giving you a soft look. “I can handle that..” He tries as you get more lotion.
“You wanna help me?” You ask and he nods fast, wanting to show his usefulness..
“Lay back.” You state simply as you playfully poke at his chest. He watches you for a moment before giving in fully, laying back as you focus on his leg. You’re gentle with it, knowing it’s tender at the moment. He watches you with a gratefulness that you wish he didn’t have.
Because it should be expected of you to do this. Jack has done this and more for you. Giving him a leg massage shouldn’t have him staring at you like he’s questioning what he’s done in life to earn this.
“Fuck..” He sighs as you get to a certain area.
“That good?” You ask, voice careful as he nods fast.
“Nothing humbles me more than nights like this..” He mutters, referring to the rain with an upset look in his eyes. It makes you softly pout as you lean over to peck his lips.
“I’ve got you..” You assure simply as he grumbles.
“I’m supposed to be your Tarzan..” He points out softly. You giggle a bit at the reminder.
Your Tarzan.
A name bestowed upon him after your second date at the Pittsburgh street carnival where he’d won you a giant stuffed bear at one of those hammer hitting games. You’d called him that as a teasing joke, but.. Jack had taken an instant liking to it.
You hum softly as you stroke his hair back. “Well. Even Tarzan needs some TLC..” You mutter simply as he watches you warmly. “And he’s still Tarzan. Even when Jane takes care of him..” You continue before pecking his lips again. He hums contently.
“Mm.. Tarzan need Jane..” He grumbles playfully like a caveman, making you laugh at his cheesiness.
“Jane need Tarzan.” You agree as you happily cup his face for a more.. In-depth kiss..
Hey idk who needs this but helpful reminder that "virgin blood" in any witchcraft shit that requires that means "virgin" in the same sense as "virgin hair" means hair that hasn't been dyed or processed in any way, natural in the default sense. So no, "virgin blood" doesn't mean blood from a virgin, just blood that hasn't been used for any other kind of witchy shit earlier.
Whether nor not someone has fucked before is completely irrelevant. Any act of fucking doesn't instantly make someone contaminated or un-magic any of their shit. You're just not supposed to re-use blood for blood magic. That's just not. Just do not. Like that's just weird who does that.
realizing that the online sphere and especially tumblr is NOT a good sample for ‘what everyone thinks’ is so, so, so good for your mental health and moral OCD. i swear to god. realizing that you don’t have to live your actual life like you’re being hunted for sport because the average tumblr user will hunt you for sport for wording something slightly weird or engaging in the wrong stuff or whatever is so incredible. like no you’re actually not fucked up and evil for not donating or for watching that one indie cartoon or questioning a post that everybody is agreeing with. that’s just tumblrs georg making you feel that way
this is so late renaissance early mannerism. the controversial male nudity? the lighting and value on the figure of emphasis?? him bathed in light and placed ABOVE while the police are clad in dark and BELOW?? Uh HES HITTING THE CONTRAPPOSTO??
On one hand: this imagery touches on themes of freedom vs oppression and how in shedding the various layers of shame placed upon us by the regime we can transcend to a higher place above the forces that seek to hold us to unjust societal standards.
On the other hand: cheeks out at the Krispy Kreme.
