The timeline dilemma
I don’t know if this is an ADHD thing or just mine, but I never know when anything in my life has happened. Was this 7 years ago? An hour ago? This week? I literally have no idea. I just know it happened, period. So whenever I’m saying an anecdote, I just say “the other day”. Sometimes people have said “Um, that happened when you were 3” and other times they tell me it happened that same day! And I’m like “Whoa, that’s wild. Wait, does this mean I had no necessity to tell you this anecdote since you were apparently there???”
This is 100% an ADHD thing.. Dr Russell Barkley, one of the top experts on ADHD, calls it time blindness. We don’t have a firm grasp on the concept of time.
Will this work take 10 mins? 2 hours? Who knows!
This can also be seen in terms of future planning and decision making. Time blindness means we have difficulty seeing consequences in the future. If it isn’t happening now, then it might never happen.
Oh hey, it has a name.
Me too, bitch. Me too.

Clare Devlin in Derry Girls Season 2
Orla saw it too. Orla is easily led. Thank you, aunt Mary.
You’re a Derry Girl now, James.
Derry Girls | Season2
the derry girls have one brain cell between them, and it’s only available to either clare or james
James will be the first ever boy to study here at Our Lady Immaculate College. He was due to start at Christian Brother Boys, but there were serious concerns for his safety because, well, unfortunately, James happens to be English.
the second steve rogers shaved his beard is the second he stopped being valid
not to be dramatic but steve shaving his beard off was extremely symbolic. that was steve rogers “cleaning up” his act (aka being nomad for years) and reentering himself into society as the clean shaven all american man everyone was so sure he was until he fucked w the govt and became a fugitive. it was him giving up on that lifestyle and v literally washing an essential and formative part of his life down the drain. it was steve rogers (a known deviant rebel and independent thinker) bringing the mold history had created for him out of the closet and trying to force himself back into it. it was saying “i was wrong, its time i put this chapter to rest” despite him being VERY right. it was a terrible and tone deaf move, especially paired with his obsession with the past & peggy, his suburban dad clothing, and his complete disregard for his morals. also he looked so good w that beard and six minutes was not enough screentime . i will NOT b taking criticism thnx in advance
Unpopular opinion: Being intelligent isn’t an excuse for being unkind.
Pretentious asshole is OUT! Pretentious Sweetheart is IN! Wearing dapper clothes and holding the door open for others makes you feel COOL AS H*CK! Glance up from your hefty books to give a stranger a smile!! Quote literature to inspire others! Be presumptuous in the way that you presume that everyone needs their day to be a little brighter!!!
You’re a Derry girls now James! It doesn’t matter that you’ve got that stupid accent, or that your bits are different to my bits! Because being a Derry girl, well it’s a fucking state of mind! And you’re one of us now.
