As the current “host” or predominantly active fragment, how does Omega cope if the others are switching back and front, or is he akin to a gatekeeper? If not— Does Dottore ever get rapid switches due to emotional shifts and whatnot?
I’m also really interested in Zan and Zandik and the way they manifest. If there is high headspace activity in between fragments, does anyone have a caretaking role for Zan, or is it a suppression ordeal? And for instance, the original post mentioned Zandik holds more feelings of rejection and betrayal, so I’d imagine he projects that thinking into the headspace within his his activities.
What type of impact do the segments have on each other when their ideas clash during their presence— A segment who’s more emotional and bracing for pain would clash with a segment who holds dismissive opinions about emotional manners, who would it be that attempts to solve these maybe? Or perhaps Dottore’s on edge all the time.
Sorry if this was long or too interrogating in terms of questions lol, I’m just incredibly curious to see this type of concept get expanded upon with Dottore, I think its an incredible idea.
Hello, very good question I'll do my best to answer as clearly as possible ; I will answer this in the context of AFTER merging everyone back to the same body after "deletion", where Omega is the host / hoarding front.
1) Dottore does get rapid switches and massive migraines during those emotional times especially, which he attempts to drown out by being busy / doing something that will keep HIM in control. He doesn't usually get along with any other alter and most of them also don't get along well either, but they all agree that omega is "the worst" because he's stubborn and too selfish, deciding everything for everyone ( and they all hold a grudge for being deleted ).
2) Yes, usually the older segments ( notably Gamma, because he is very distant emotionally, he needs to "fix" issues and one of those is to keep Zan in check. ) take care of the younger ones by calming them down / snatching away the emotions. Zandik's emotions of rejection usually show up when triggered during a conversation, so his influence is so strong that Omega gets affected and starts speaking more aggressively / angrily etc...
3) The system is pretty much chaotic in general ; even if some segments do try to fix things, most just don't get along and the "fixing" solution is when the older / emotionally detached segments snatch the feelings away. Otherwise, in the mind it's pretty much a constant clash of different thoughts and feelings ( which is what prime wanted to resolve in the first place by giving all of them a body to reduce the discordant mind / heavy dissociation ).
Regarding more impacts on one another, if they do end up fighting, the more aggressive / violent segments usually end up causing a lot of harm ( either around themselves or to the body unfortunately just as it started centuries ago ), the persecutors are still very volatile because they're heavily misunderstood and still holding the feeling of being monsters / rejects very strongly and no one has ever really attempted to remediate to that properly ( mostly because Dottore is in general a very reserved person and deems sharing feelings as weak or too telling. He doesn't share much even to Pantalone/Tianyu. But the latter is perceptive enough to usually soothe Dottore and know what needs to be done during what moment. )
I hope I answered everything and if you have more questions lmk !!
