1. how many words have you written this year?
in total, about 258k words!! 235,357 on my main account (livinginaworldofnoise) and 22,984 on my second account (relentless_seconds)
2. how many works did you publish?
in total i posted 41 times this year!! on my main account, i posted or updated 18 fics in 2025: 15 new works and 23 updates to existing works. on my second account, i updated 1 fic 3 times <3
3. what work are you most proud of?
i can't lie i think every epistolary fic i wrote this year is a banger (as is the mdzs psych au) but the mdzs survivor au and the mdzs college newspaper epistolary both have a special place in my heart <33
4. what work has the most hits?
my tgcf amnesia au has 53k hits, but most of those were accumulated in other years!! for a fic fully posted in 2025, the most hits goes to the survivor au with about 9k
5. what work got more feedback than expected?
i'd say the mdzs college newspaper epistolary about flirting thru corrections emails bc that one felt so personal to me and i didn't know other people would love it so much too!!
6. favorite title you used?
"i don't have to be your shrink to know that you'll never be happy" is for sure the most outta pocket lmao but "my flight was awful, thanks for asking" is another strong contender
7. if you use song lyrics, what artist did you pull from most?
taylor swift for suuuuure lol i think 13 of the 15 new fics i posted this year were taylor lyrics, 1 was 5sos, and the other 1 is stray kids. taylor lyrics are just so easy to search by keyword and cover such a diverse range of unhinged things
8. pairing you wrote the most for this year?
wangxian! <3 (14 wangxian, 3 hualian, 1 wenzhou, 1 minchan)
9. favorite pairing you wrote for this year?
hualian and wenzhou are my beloveds but there's just something about writing wangxian....they are so funny to me <3
10. what work was the quickest to write?
hmmm maybe the mdzs letters to santa au since that's one of the shortest! and it didn't require researching something wack like tax forms or couples therapy exercises! although i also feel like the first chapter of the psych au was surprisingly quick to write considering it's like 12k bc i just love psych so much
11. what work took the longest to write?
the most recent chapter of the amnesia au took six months of actively thinking about it and trying to write it!! i had to scrap two drafts of it which is torture for me bc i like to just full send and commit to the first draft of every fic lmaooo. (also that fic as a whole has taken 4+ years now rip.) the word of honor couples therapy fic also took half the year in the sense that i started it in march, didn't have enough inspiration to carry me through it, and then came back to it in november lol
12. how many wips do you have in your docs for next year?
okayyyy we've got my 6 existing WIPs on ao3 plus 4 new ones i've started in google docs (mdzs linkedin, tgcf bakery reviews, r/therapists au, and tgcf cooking channel au)
there are also, as always, so many ideas that are still marinating but may at some point see the light of day (mdzs taskmaster, tgcf finance podcast, mdzs high school teachers, mdzs vet online chat, mdzs wifi technician, mdzs airbnb, tgcf anastasia au, etc etc etc.)

mdzs survivor au! 55k words (and ongoing)

mdzs letters to santa au (3,549 words)

all four WIPs i brought into 2025 plus two new ones lol. i was hoping to leave one of the existing WIPs behind this year but alas it was not meant to be

the same three as this year presumably LOL. i have now read 49 danmei (soon to be 50) and watched exactly 50 cdramas and there are so many spectacular couples out there that i absolutely adore but i just stay right here where my roots have grown bc there's so much i have left to do with these three pairings (wangxian most of all). but if you need any book or drama recs i got u lmao hmu
20. which work of yours have you reread the most?
i feel like i've listened to @kisahawklin's podfics of all my fics at least twice if not more lol. my most reread fic on my main account might be the survivor au since i've listened to both kisa's and @zoozoocala's wonderful podfics of it a couple times each at least. j'adore, chef's kiss, no notes!!
on my side account, i have reread my skz college newspaper chatfic au way too much bc college newspapers and chatfics are just so funny to me personally
21. how many kudos in total did you get this year?
ao3 says 12,987 on my main account which is fake since i'm p sure it's counting all the kudos for the WIPs i brought into this year,,,, but for all the new 2025 fics combined it's EXACTLY 9,000 per my calculations which is quite spooky math

the mdzs boyfriend material au has 650 comment threads but many of them are from years past soooooo for a fic solely posted in 2025, the survivor au has 331 comment threads! u guys are all so real
23. did you do any collaborative works this year?
(i'm not a group project girlie i fear. in fifth grade my friend and i wrote a "book" but i typed it and she just sat next to me at the computer watching bc i'm a control freak. the only other collaborative creative writing project i've ever engaged in was my tanzanewsletter, a slightly unhinged email newsletter from when i lived in tanzania for a few months with a friend, and similarly i wrote the whole thing while she gave suggestions, so i think i'm just Like This)

yes!!! i received eight gifts in 2025 (in fact, that's all of the gifts i've ever received on ao3!!!). four lovely works of fanart and one reddit au from @xxmiserysmilesxx, two lovely podfics from foundbyjohndoe, and one lovely podfic from an ensemble cast!! also i consider all the other podfics and translations of my fics to be gifts to me as well so thank you all i lovvve youuuuu <3

well my spotify age is apparently EIGHTEEN so probably whatever new music from my top artists was out at the time (taylor, stray kids, 5sos, jensen mcrae, sasha allen, and so on). i also listened to my playlist for the amnesia fic a ton while trying to get inspired. and i <3 broadway soundtracks

30. biggest surprise while writing this year?
that the amnesia fic, my nemesis, only has one chapter left lol. i'm almost freeeeeeeeeeeee! also i continue to be surprised by how many epistolary formats i can turn into a fic. the study abroad essays and letters to santa were crazy but i'm sure we can get crazier
