I think the reason I'm still obsessed with niallby is that the picture we get of them is so incomplete. Because Half Man is such a trauma-focused series, we know all the big stuff - they've both faced violent homophobia and substance issues, how they've betrayed each other and how little they've managed to salvage from the wreckage - they were the turning point in each others lives, initually for the worse and then for the better. But we don't know any of the small stuff. They're all headlines and no footnotes. We see basically their whole wedding, but we don't see them kiss at the alter. We don't see them drink from the quaich. It's pretty much all dark and no light. But there must have been light because why are they getting married if they had no hope?? they didn't just sneak away to a registry office!! they had a cèilidh!!! you don't have a cèilidh if you don't have hope!!!!
