So I've had this thought for a while now. Just imagine an edit to the song 'Creep' by Radiohead of the events of the Idol Awards. The whole song works for the movie like:
"When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye." That's Celine referring to Rumi
"I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul." This is Rumi talking about her patterns
But the part I'm envisioning the most goes like this:
"She's running out the door." And it's the scene backstage when Zoey and Mira see the patterns for the first time, specifically when the camera pans out and Zoey and Mira take a step away from Rumi
"She's running out." and it's the girls backing away
"She run," and it's Mira raising her weapon "run," and it's Zoey raising hers "run," and It's Rumi pushing Jinu away "run" and it's Rumi after Jinu leaves, "Run" and It's Rumi walking and destroying the Honmoon behind her
"Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special." This is Rumi walking towards Celine and in-between verses moments with her girls are flashing by as though in her minds eye
"But I'm a creep" and the voices overlap, it's the demon version of her girls saying "mistake"
"I'm a weirdo demon" voices overlap again
"What the hell am I doing here?" And it's Rumi getting closer to Celine and kneeling on the ground
"I don't belong here." Rumi lifts her sword, and in the tiny pause before the next line in the song, it's Rumi with the demon voice saying "Do it."
Last "I don't belong here" makes it seem as though Rumi is saying the words
Do you see it? See the vision?
Good, because I don't know how to edit and I desperately need this to exist, it's been on my mind for MONTHS now
given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
Rewatching Book 3 of ATLA and cringing at how dumb the Iroh fanservice plot twists are:
"Iroh lied about killing the last dragon before Zuko was born because he wanted to protect them! They actually deemed him pure of heart and worthy to learn the truest form of firebending🥰" .......... even though he continued to be a violent general in an evil genocidal empire long after that...? I'm questioning the dragons' wisdom now.
"Actually Iroh and all the other old guys in the show are senior members of a super secret society working for the good of the world!!" ..... even though one of them flat out refused to teach the Avatar waterbending for misogynistic reasons, another refused to teach the Avatar firebending for personal reasons, and Iroh was an evil war general barely 6 years ago so I suppose he's only a recent member?
I love AtLA as much as anyone, but yeah it is, uh. Pretty abundantly clear that the White Lotus didn't exist in the writers' room until at least season two, and they didn't have a full idea of its role in the narrative probably until season three. The timeline on Iroh "Did A War Against All The Rest Of You" Azulonson joining and being trusted so high in the membership is also. Very questionable.
Which is all to say I think it would be perfect if we got to the season three end game and realized Iroh was actually still an errand boy initiate in the White Lotus. And Piandao pulls aside the main tent flap to reveal our Supreme Grand Lotus:

Headcanon - There are two bedrooms in Celine's home that are forever closed off to anyone. When Mira and Zoey first arrived, they accidentally went into one of them---mistaking it for another bedroom that hadn't been used in a while. Celine found them while they were looking around. It was the first and only time Celine had ever screamed at the two (outside of training sessions and when she absolutely has to). Later, Rumi revealed that the rooms belonged to Miyeong and Thirdlight and Celine has never messed with them because the rooms are two of the last pieces she has of her bandmates/soulmates.
Brave AU where Zoey, wanting Mira and Rumi to stop fighting, asks the honmoon to help change them and help them get along. The honmoon interprets this as meaning transform them into a polar bear and tiger, respectively.
I'm thinking that this would happen as they're finishing their world tour and about to leave the US. There's some major argument between Rumi and Mira that almost ruins their last show in Burbank but they still perform despite the tension. This would be when Zoey would ask the honmoon to "change them" and help them get along. It's most done as a joke so Zoey doesn't really think much of it until Rumi and Mira get sick and transform into a tiger and polar bear.
I think having them be in the States and away from their penthouse is the best direction to go because (1) it would force Zoey to have to think on her feet about where to hide Rumi and Mira and how to take care of them while she's looking for a cure. If they were in Korea, she could just sneak them into the penthouse and have fish and meat delivered but she can't really do that here (bonus points if Zoey just straight up takes them to her old Burbank house where her dad still lives)
(2) California is NOT meant for polar bear so Mira is going to struggle which provides the chance for Rumi to help her. Rumi could hunt for both of them or help find ways to cool down Mira because she'd be too hot. Given that it is Rumi who's hiding the secret, having her be the one to semi make up for it would help.
(3) It separates Rumi from Celine and places where she can hide. Rumi's a tiger. A tiger isn't getting far in crowded cities or suburban areas without animal control getting called meaning that, when Rumi's patterns are revealed during her transformation, she can't exactly just run away. She also can't call Celine given that she can't speak (following Brave the mom could only make bear noises) and doesn't have the ability to use her phone. I do think Zoey would call Celine to tell her what happened and Rumi could see her over facetime but that's about the extent of it.
I don't think there would be anything Zoey had to stitch up or fix like there was in the Brave movie. It's more of a "honmoon changes you until you learn your lesson" kind of thing.
I keep randomly seeing this post on my feed, and I’m very tempted to finally force myself to learn how to draw animals so I can draw Celine and Rumi like this as cats.
As soon as Zoey sent her anonymous tweet, she sensed her arrival. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, and goosebumps rose on her arms.
But she was ready. Rumi was fast, especially like this, but Zoey was no slowpoke, and she was strong.
Perhaps it was the lack of her partner in crime’s presence by her side, or the realization of who she had hunted down, but Rumi seemed almost sluggish when Zoey countered her tackle and brought her to the ground. The wrists of swiping claws were held down in one hand, while her other arm pressed Rumi’s well-toned abdomen into the carpeted floor, pinning her body to it. No matter how hard the half-demon thrashed against her grasp, she could not escape. Gnashing teeth bit at the air, trying to find some purchase on Zoey’s body.
Normally, Zoey would allow her partner to sink those sharp fangs into her, but to do so right now would be to accept defeat, and there was no point in Zoey doing that when she was winning.
The room was well lit, but Rumi’s face and body still seemed steeped in shadow. Her patterns were a blazing red, and her glowed golden.
To anyone else, she would be a terror to behold.
To Zoey, she was her beloved, her partner in crime, her soulmate.
She didn’t frighten her in the slightest.
She sat down on her girlfriend’s bucking hips, bracketing them with her legs. Now completely trapped, Rumi stared up at her, indignant fury burning in those golden orbs.
Zoey smirked. “Hey, sweetie. It seems that little experiment worked.” Rumi’s head snapped up again, trying to get a piece of her. Zoey dodged her and tutted scornfully. “Ah, ah, ah. Bad girl.”
Rumi froze, and a whine escaped her throat.
“But you know how you can be a good girl for me?” The older girl perked up. Zoey stroked her wrists with her thumb lovingly. “Give me your color.” Silence followed. “I know you can, Rumi. What color are you?”
Rumi stayed silent for a few more moments, and Zoey wondered if she wasn’t going to answer her at all. But finally, she spoke, her voice low and rumbling.
“Green.”
Zoey squeezed her wrists. “Good,” she said, pressing her harder into the ground. “Now the real fun can start.”
if you leave this kind of comment on any fanfic writer’s work or if you think this shit is okay and isn’t the reason more and more writers are choosing not to share their works with your entitled ass for free anymore, you should be ashamed of yourself.
if you suspect a fic is ai and if that bothers you, quietly close the tap and leave the fic. no one forces you to stay.
What if Bobby didn't die but Celine told Rumi he did? Maybe she's exasperated because despite the collar and the (almost daily nowadays) shocks Rumi refuses to cooperate, maybe she thinks if Rumi loses all hope she'll be easier to deal with train
As to how noone knows he's alive, maybe he goes MIA looking for Rumi, like, he infiltrates different places looking for his daughter and isn't seen in public for a while, when he is Zoemirs find out he's alive, but do they tell Rumi? How do you tell someone the father they thought was dead isn't? Do they set her free after they find out the truth? Or do they lead Bobby to his kid?
Ohoho my word. Ok this one would be really fun, and you wanna know why?
Because Rumi knows. She became very adept at reading Celine’s expression and tells, she knows when she’s lying, and when that woman came into her cell and told her Bobby was killed by a demon?
Rumi knew she was lying. But she also knew this is her best shot.
Let’s say, for Mira and Zoey, they do really believe Bobby’s dead. He did in fact vanish, traveling in some darker circles to see if Rumi was kidnapped by someone with higher connections. (Funnily enough…)
So? Rumi starts to plan. She throws herself into the training because she knows it’s what Celine was lookin for. Celine feels satisfied, ignoring the guilt building day by day as Rumi drives herself to the edge of exhaustion every single time they train, but hey, for the Honmoon right?
But the issue is, Rumi’s improving a little too much. Mira and Zoey? They used to be able to smoke her, but now Rumi’s on par with both of them at once.
Celine can still beat her… barely.
It would be around the first time, and what would turn out to be the only time, that Rumi beat Celine that Bobby would present his findings to the public.
Someone in sunlight entertainment kidnapped Rumi, his daughter, and is holding her in parts unknown. Mira and Zoey freak out, because what do you mean he’s been alive this whole time and now he knows your company is involved, Celine??
Celine tries to make the girls keep it a secret, but they can’t handle it. They have been hurting their literal soul mate in training, emotionally, and physically via the collar (only Celine uses it but they helped put it on) so they tell her immediately.
They use Celine’s key to take the collar off of Rumi. For a moment, all they can feel from the bond is raw relief.
And then, Rumi moves.
She takes down Mira and Zoey quickly. She doesn’t hurt Zoey too badly, but she does break Mira’s arm.
(“What’s that American phrase Zoey likes? An eye for an eye?”)
Then she faces Celine. The two battle, and while Celine’s aiming to maim Rumi is fighting to escape.
Celine gets Rumi’s leg, hurting her.
Rumi gets Celine’s stomach, almost killing her.
Rumi runs then. She runs to the docks, using the money she stole from the hunters compound to pay for a ferry. She makes it back to her dad, bloodied and bruised but finally home.
A massive investigation takes place into sunlight industries, but despite Rumi and Bobby’s best efforts they can’t quite get anything to stick. The public perception moved on too fast once Rumi returned on her own, with some even calling it a hoax.
Rumi began performing on her own again, working to help strengthen the Honmoon. She knows Mira and Zoey are probably doing the same, but she doesn’t care enough about them to check. She does see that Celine survived a near lethal attack from an unknown assailant, but nothing beyond that.
Ultimately, I think Mira and Zoey would manage to get Rumi to agree to collab on one song for an album, then two, and slowly just keep growing the number of songs for them all. She never truly becomes a part of their group, but folks have begun shipping them.
(“Wait, they are? What’s the ship name?”
“Polytrix?”)
Celine keeps her distance from Rumi. She knows trying to push her at all would end poorly with Mira and Zoey so sympathetic to her. She does work with Poppy to ensure that the three end up together at random events more often, but doesn’t do much beyond that.
I think this little spinoff wouldn’t have Rumi’s heritage being discovered for a long time, if ever. Celine always gripes about how if Rumi would just “let go of the past” then Huntrix could seal the Honmoon!
Rumi says in no uncertain terms that she isn’t trying to turn the honmoon gold. If all demons are gonna be banished she’s not taking the risk of it including her. Celine tries to convince her it’s her duty and that the Honmoon wouldn’t take her, but Rumi objects.
(“The patterns were good enough for you to treat me less then human. Who’s to say your precision Honmoon wouldn’t do the same?”)
So yeah, Rumi’s livid at Celine about lying about her freaking dad being dead, but ultimately uses it to help her escape. Thanks for the fun ask!
Takes out my blender and dusts it off. In an attempt to get the bell from werewolf Celine to make a new charm, the trio research ways to weaken her.
Wolfsbane is hard to get, so they opted to using silver net.
Rumi being the sneakiest readies herself to throw the net while Mira and Zoey becomes the bait.
The wolf wakes up and snarls at the so very wrong scents.
She will not let these, intruders, hurt her pack
She was about to leap towards them before she was captured in a net.
It was wrong. It hurts. Pain. Burning pain.
The trio was horrified what the silver net is doing towards Celine as she writhes in pure agony.
Her matted fur burning away and the net seems to sizzle into her skin.
Rumi immediately tries to get the net off of her.
She didn't mean to hurt her. It was said silver is meant to weaken werewolves. Not hurting them!
(It is weakening them. But not in the way the girls thought.)
Celine howls in pain and all she can think of is to protect her dead pack.
She thrashes and tries to get the burning net off of her. She snaps at these frantic foreign hands, not knowing the girls are trying to get the net off of her.
The trio hands are marred with Celine's blood.
They have to get it off her or else.
Celine starts to get weaker from the blood loss and pain.
She crawls towards the graves and the little bell, whining the whole way.
She didnt even hear the girls begging her to stay still, so that they can take the net off of her.
The net is off of her and the young trio sees the burn and bleeding marks across Celine's body.
Celine is barely moving as she limply curls between the two graves and the small bell between her paws.
Rumi tries to reach out but immediately pulls her hand away when she hears Celine's pained whine.
All of that and they still didn't get the bell.
Zoey fidgeting and asks what they shpuld do now.
Mira reasoning and tries to be rational that Celine is a werewolf, right? And the honmoon can help too. Celine should be able to heal from the wounds in a split second.
It did not.
They need to find a way that doesn't involve anymore pain.
Rumi was about to volunteer to stay with Celine but was shot down by Mira's insistence that Rumi knows where personal things are in the hanok.
Zoey persuades that she'll stay since she can oversee Celine, who is currently very weak. Having difficulty to breath.
Rumi and Mira finds video tapes and plays a few of them.
They also brought out stuff from Celine's wardrobe (thank goodness for her organizational mindset).
They head back and places blankets and clothes near Celine.
A bit of movement as Celine gives the things placed a sniff before she snugglea close to it. Familiar scents.
Rumi plays videos on a laptop.
Miyeong's and thirdlight's comes up. Celine weakly lifts her head as she listens to their voices. Whining.
Despite the lucidity, Celine still retains a bit of her human self as she slowly lifts up a clawed finger and skips the video for another.
The girls were confused when a locked folder was chosen.
This video is the one video that Rumi herself never watched. The one video Celine always watch when she's alone.
The video was recorded by thirdlight with a very pregnant looking Miyeong and a fully shifted Celine.
Miyeong laughing and playfully tries to shove an indignant wolf.
Thirdlight is laughing behind the camera before she gets picked up by Celine. Miyeong laughing and mocking thirdlight in the background.
The video then shows the trio cuddling, Miyeong sandwiched between the other two.
Werewolf Celine has her arm slung over Miyeong and thirdlight, as she huffs a contented sigh when she tucks Miyeong's head underneath her chin.
The whole time, Celine has been watching with rapt attention. Her eyes flicking and tries to get herself closer to Miyeong and thirdlight in the video.
The folder contains a lot of private family home videos.
The whole night, they watch these videos.
Mira does get up to charge the laptop and bring blankets and pillows.
Rumi silently watches and sees how different Celine was back then.
Zoey quietly mentioning that a lone wolf tends to die in the wild sooner than a wolf in a pack.
When the last video is over, Rumi looks over and sees Celine already sleeping.
She carefully gets up and places blankets over her, how Celine used to do when she was small.
Rumi was tempted to touch Celine but seeing the wounds made her second guess herself.
Instead, she cuddles up with the girls who insists they can stay outside and be near Celine.
