It hot as fuck, bro. It's half 10, I sat up to type on my phone, and it's hotter than the core of the fucking Earth. I hate it here.

Being back now in RP Land for a bit and watching the change in tumbles ways and with a degree in information technology, I've been seeing a few things that I think are really affecting getting our blogs out there...
1. The majority of people aren't reblogging promos anymore. Promos are sitting in the tags rotting, only being reblogged on the OPs blog. The whole reason we started having promos was to share our beautiful partner's blogs (and our own) by word of mouth, not tags!!!
2. Tags are overly-saturated. Everyone is tagging LITERALLY every post they make with the rp searches to try to get one jump ahead with one extra post exposing their blog and by doing this, they've actually made it nearly impossible to find new blogs which is exactly the reason promos were created in the first place I'm pretty sure...
So how do we fix it?
First, stop tagging every single post. Only tag your promos, maybe starter calls, but nothing else needs to have the rp tags!!!!
Second and more importantly...
REBLOG YOUR PARTNER'S PROMOS!!!
Tumblr was not meant to be oversaturated with tags like this and everyone's activity is always fucky because it's Tumblr... Don't you feel special when your partner reblogs your promo?
And also when we stopped reblogging stuff like memes and pics from our partners it became standoffish in a weird way. Yeah posts get lost if your promo gets passed around but that's okay!!! Are y'all really over here finishing every plot line you write???
Rp is to have fun. Let y'all's hair down and have fun like we used to on here.
Now go reblog this post and let's make it fun here like it used to be!!!
i just wanna tell you how i'm feeling. gotta make you understand.

knowing your writing partner can potentially make writing together a lot easier!
☆ basics.
★ name: Crow
★ pronouns: ae/aem/aer (usage example: 'this is Crow. ae are seemingly always distracted. some of aer muses include the Duolingo owl. I hear boss music when I see an ask from aem.')
★ sexuality: aroace
★ taken or single: single.
☆three facts.
1. I'm gonna start with the one I always use for the 'tell me one thing about yourself!' ask memes. one time, I was writing Bucky and Jameson with a partner on Skype because they wrote Jameson's boyfriend, Harley, and Steve. while staring directly at the thing I was meant to be replying to as Jameson, I completely forgot and only replied with Bucky and then wondered why there wasn't a Harley reply for a bit after that. my memory is fuckin terrible.
2. my on-blog pages are coded by me and I had to look up how to gradient opacity again for Ultron's page. I started learning HTML coding to make post templates for forum sites in around 2015 and I can't code a lot, but I know how to read the coding well enough to edit themes and write my own (very simple) templates or page layouts. the old templates were just to keep things neat and very similar aesthetically to the verses pages on my blog. different methods, though; the verses pages are tables and the templates were just basic [div style=""] tags. tables probably would've been easier to use for templates, actually, but I didn't think about it.
3. I also taught myself how to do picture editing, sometimes trying to use tutorials on CAUTION to the Wind 2.0 (when that forum was up) but inevitably returning to just experimenting. started when I was about 13 using Pixlr because I'm picky and wanted to do all my own signatures and avatars. I improved significantly when I started writing Bam and Hope-turned-Harley-turned-Dylan, because I wanted specific hair colours from specific eras or years so I had to learn how to use what I could find or I'd just not have graphics. I switched to GIMP because I wanted to do GIF edits and Pixlr can't do GIFs, but I actually hate editing and making GIFs, which is also why I don't use GIFs for this blog.
☆experience.how long (months/years?):
18 years and some amount of months. started roleplaying when I was 13, playing Judy Lewis with the face claim Anna Kendrick. it was 2008 and the Twilight movie had just come out.
☆muse preferences.
★ female or male: honestly? nonbinary. I much prefer writing nonbinary or gender fucky characters. this is why Bucky and Bam are my faves to write, because Bam is generally fucky and Bucky's gender and identity is inevitably influenced by the dehumanisation he experienced. Bucky is still a cis man while Bam's just... Bam. her gender is Bam. Bam exists beyond both her understanding and your understanding of human gender. out of the two choices given, I am significantly more comfortable writing men and I feel like I have a better grasp on writing men even though I lived as a woman for 20-something years and have been treated as a girl and woman since birth. most of my favourite muses that I've written have been men (at some point; looking at Bam) and while I don't dislike writing women, I feel like they always read as a character instead of how my man and nonbinary muses read which is as a person. I could be wrong, but the vibes are just off.
★ fluff, angst, or smut: comfortable with angst, willing to do fluff, have a sideblog for smut. I actually have written more smut than fluff, especially in 2016/2017 because of the aforementioned Skype roleplaying with Bucky and Steve but I won't say I'm good at writing smut. the experience is why I can confidently say that boy is a bottom.
★ plots or memes: memes. I'm more experienced with improvisation in threads--because forums sites had an entire like five year period where people didn't plot the vast majority of the time--and I'm also so used to characters like Bam, who will look at your carefully constructed plot based on previous experience and decide, 'nah, I don't wanna act like that,' and I either have to write him in a way that doesn't work for him or abandon the plot and apologise profusely because Bam's gender is, primarily, Bastard.
★ long or short replies: here's the thing; I like both, but I struggle with short replies. sometimes, you just need a quick and easy little thing to write, and I love those times. I do, however, lack the ability to shut the fuck up at any given moment, which truly should not be a surprise because, I mean, look at the evidence above. have I shown a hint of brevity in this entire thing? I can and will yap and that is a problem.
★ best time to write: I typically write post-midnight. anything before then, I can't focus. (also I learned brevity for a single answer. holy shit.)
★ are you like your muse(s)?: I would say I'm somewhat similar to Bam, Dylan, Bucky, the Scavenger, and Jessie? online, I'm more Bam/the goose/Duo/Jessie leaning, I think. offline, I'm more Dylan/Bucky/the Scavenger, and I fear I have to yap to explain 'the Scavenger' as an answer in a way that isn't borderline terrifying. so, offline, I tend to be... selectively mute? I think that's the right wording. like, I don't start conversations with people, I'm not particularly outwardly friendly, and the Scavenger isn't, either. we are both more likely to cast a glance over someone than say 'hi'. that kind of thing is what I mean by 'somewhat similar', because I'm not running any kind of criminal enterprise but neither of us will speak to strangers or talk at length about ourselves. this is also why I'm a little bit like Bucky along with both him and Bam having memory issues. tbh Bam has memory issues so that if I forgot anything while writing him, it could be chalked up to him forgetting things. if I'm going down, she's going down with me. I started thinking about immortal!scavenger, either The Old Guard verse or just the scavenger but he physically cannot die...
Bad news for anyone who thought I was gonna write; I thought of history for the Scavenger to have a The Old Guard verse.
Goddammit.
My internet's gone and the ISP need to come out and sort the cables and I'm just like...
Idk the temptation to take my lactose intolerance and a bottle of milk to their offices is high...
Update: I did not need to weaponise my lactose intolerance.

shoutout to writers of multimuse blogs! i know that sometimes it can feel like you get ignored or are a secondary choice for people in favor of single muse blogs of the same characters you write, but please know that your portrayals are just as good, no matter how many other characters you have! it takes a lot of technical skill to write a variety of characters, and not having a single muse blog doesn't make your portrayal any lesser. ♡

I hate having been RPing since like 2008? because there's always characters that I wanted to write--or did write at one point--and then I get the urge to write them again.
today's urge is a character whose entire schtick is 'he can get you anything (though you need to have a damn good reason for some requests)'. like, he'll get you a kidney without questioning why you need it, so long as you don't ask him where he got it from. if you ask him about getting a specific person? he's gonna start questioning you and potentially beat you to death if your answers are suspicious. 'they owe me money' is an accepted answer.
and I used to have Crispin Glover in Charlie's Angels as the peak face claim, but I just saw someone who fit better and now I'm like, God, I want to write him. but there's no reason to write him, because he was initially made out of necessity and I can't imagine anyone wanting a plot where they need him to fetch anything or anyone, y'know?
I miss Batman/Marvel crossover forum sites. they always needed an extensive list of criminals. I was writing fuckin all sorts on those sites.
so, i went looking for the original information for this character and i'm so excited.
i've got a steadily growing collection of reference books related to flora and fauna of the UK and a part of his original info is that he pressed flowers and collected leaves to get leaf skeletons so i can also include just general interest in flora.
brb going feral. going to go chew everything that exists in this universe and the next.
@ghostsandmirrors asked: it's not that bad.
injury themed prompts
"Not that bad," Yelena echoes ironically as she applies pressure to the wound in Bucky's arm. "You know we don't have extra metal arms just lying around, right?" The wound is shallow but long, tracing all the way up his bicep to his shoulder. She pulls a strip of emergency bandage out of one of the pouches on her suit and begins wrapping it tightly over the wound. Blood begins seeping through almost immediately. “Ради бога! You need to be more careful.”
There was a soft, small sigh with her repetition, annoyed with himself more than reacting to her, before he quietly said, "I'll heal," as an explanation for why it wasn't that bad.
He knew she wouldn't agree with that explanation--no one would--but he always figured that if he was awake, if he wasn't actively dying, and he was still able to react to things, then he'd probably be fine. Would he blame her if she decided to wrap that bandage around his throat instead of his arm? No, but something told him that wasn't going to happen, or maybe he just hoped it wouldn't happen.
As if to ensure the temptation didn't hit, he refused to look away from his left hand that was settled in his lap and mumbled out an, "it was a mistake."
