Why is the world so beautiful?
We got a double rainbow 🥰
I broke my YouTube so I’m rebuilding it.
Apparently, when you’re just getting going, it confuses YouTube when you have to many topics / types of media on one platform.
So now I’m going to have 3 separate channels; one for podcasts talking about life pivoting, one for shorts of me making whatever I make, and one for art vlogs.
I’m keeping the GhxstieArt banner on the main page, but I’m working on the banners for the other two channels … what do you think?
This piece took love. Im glad I got it out.
There’s only one limited edition since they changed the paper … can be purchased at ghxstieartshop.etsy.com
What's new?
I've also got this mini in 8x10
What's new ...
I'm dropping these three minis in 8X10.
It Started With A Bang?!?
I wasn't expecting it ... but that's the cost of doing business.
So y'all know I've been working hard to get this shop going for like two months ... It seems like such a simple process -starting an Etsy shop- but it's been THE must challenging; more so than even Kickstarter.
I have to start by acknowledging that part of the problem is me. Not that I know many artists who aren't perfectionists about their work, or who aren't considerate of the end product there offering ... but I might be throwing a bit of a temper tantrum. You see I've decided I'm not going to stop printing my first two collections after the summer is up. I'm only selling 10 of the 8X10s each, and whatever is available in my Etsy shop will be it, because the company I used to print the first sets has change papers.
Yes ... this tantrum is over paper.
But let me explain! I'm not going to name the company -that's messy- but they were suggested by an artist I've been following for a bit -as i find their advise priceless. The company ONLY prints art, and does so print-on-demand (POD). This suits my situation because I'm working towards a printer, and they handle international shipping. Now ... I don't trust POD, and never have. I'm always concerned that it's cheep stuff, so I vet the quality before I sell (let alone send) the work to anyone. And that takes a little more time, but I want to make sure it's what I mean to put out.
Well that first round of work went pretty well! The quality was STUNNING, and made me rethink my feeling on POD. Only one piece didn't come out -my fav- but I figured the weight and press on the paper was tooooo PERFECT to be mad. The way the art popped, and the texture adds to the aesthetic is priceless. I was in love. It was epic. It was everything I could have asked for. I already had some one interested in a couple of the pieces (my mom). And I submitted an order for limited editions right away.
😒
They printed those bad boys on a different quality paper instead, of the bad azz heavy thick paper they sold me O r i g i n a l l y ... Then they tried to act like they never sold the weight I requested.
I'll have you know as of June 13th they've ✨magically✨ carry that weight again! But all I can think is ... You never informed me of any of these changes! So you mean to tell me ... you would have sent my client an entirely different product then what I'm selling?!?
Needless to say I've changed where I get my art printed. I can't have that. That's wild. Imagine if I trusted that company. This is not Walmart or Target. I'm not sell mass produced work. I'm hoping you pass the limited editions and originals down; or at least take a loan out against them when times get tough. That's the goal. That's the intention. Not just beauty, but legacy as well.
I'm gonna get over it. But ... WOW, just ... WOW. That was like every fear all rapped in one. Thank you for going on this journey with me! And thank you for providing patience whilst I contend with the business end of stuff. I lost quite a bit of inventory with that nonsense. So I'm probably going to do another Kickstarter campaign to rebuild what was lost.
https://ghxstieartshop.etsy.com/ is opening back up on Saturday 🥰

Arthouse | Art Life / Art times … So much work goes into being an artist, and I’m here for every moment of it.
It’s seriously underrated, by the society at large, and I believe that’s intentional. But now that my shop has seasoned, and there’s no longer fear of it being shut down 👀, I will begin placing pieces in it. Right now I have a limited edition of one of my earliest works called ‘Elevation’. It’s an abstract photography collage piece, that comes from the collection ’Child Within’. It’s an important piece because it changed the trajectory of my life. I was challenged, to make a choice, between myself and the desires of others. And when I made the choice, I was able to create in ways I hadn’t imagined possible.
I’ve been working on the background business stuff lately -bts stuff, like product descriptions. And while it’s not always my favorite part of being a working artist, it has brought about some really positive things. The greatest yet is the cataloging my art. I now have a database set up for legacy storage. This way I can keep better records of clients and artworks, and take on grander art projects and ambitions.
Next stop is Farmers Markets … I’m actively seeking some local ones. It will be the first time I work retail as a boss lady instead of a talent or sale rep, ðŸ¤. Being an artist in the age is interesting because you are both the creator and the distributor of the art. Traditionally we had wealthy patrons fund us. It’s more challenging this way, but I LOVE the authenticity we’re able to express. Now that we have more power over what we create, and when we create it, censorship is less of a challenge.
Thanks guys!
We didn't make it, but I'm happy I had the experience. There are other ways in which I grew that were imperative to my own furtherance in this career. I'm not sure what the next campaign will be, but I know I'm going to take them less seriously from now on. In fact I make only do digital campaigns. The logistics of attempting to ship stuff overseas is a challenge right now. There's just to much weirdness and uncertainty. So next campaign will be for my book or video game ... both of which are accessible despite where you are in the world.
@GhxstieArt
Hey guys!
After all the drama with the last campaign I've decided to start a newsletter. If you haven't had a chance to read my substack, I got censored on a few platforms because the art was considered to salacious?
Here is the sticker art they were referring too:
This made me realize that I'm much better off directly contacting you guys ... because at any given moment someone could 'not like my art'.
I make art that exposes much more than what's in that picture. I will only be placing those pieces in my Zine or at an actual art exhibition/gallery. The Zine comes with the newsletter quarterly ... if you're interested.
