thinking about how in the 15 years since Mai and Zuko broke up since the Promise, not a single new love interest was introduced for Zuko.
15 years of comics and almost every single one is about Zuko pining, unrelentingly, for Mai. Zuko never being able to move on from their breakup. Zuko trying to win Mai back. Zuko changing and becoming a better person for Mai and the fire nation.
even when Mai dated another guy. Even when Mai’s not ready yet for a relationship, he’s waiting for her. He’s yearning.
say what you will about the comics, but this was so peak. Better than any fanfiction.
