The joys of writing
It feels great to finally blog again. I used to blog on myspace back in 2006. The last blog I wrote was New Year's Eve 2008. I was raving and celebrating all of the accomplishments I had achieved that year. For the first time in a long time I was writing a happy blog. For years most of my thoughts consist of negative feelings toward my life or some randomness about what was going on in the media. I remember getting my first diary when I was 13 years old. The only excitement I shared were stories about my fave celebs or something I thought was fun that most people would find boring. During that time I had no life, literally. I grew up sheltered where my sis had to be my only friend(suggestion from parents) so I decided that music and writing would be my friends too.(I still had a few friends that my parents didn't know about, lol.) My love for music was always evident since I was 4 years old.(Still remember jammin' 2 Janet Jackson's "Escapade" during that era, lol.) and became even stronger in middle school. When I was school, I dreaded writing because of the topics(boring!!!!) but once I entered college, my love for writing blossomed. I had a wonderful, eccentric teacher named Ms. Murphy. I loved her class. We were required to write 5 different types of papers. The most personal paper I wrote was a narrative about my parent's divorce. I was 19 at the time and still dealing with my emotions from 8 years before. That paper really set me free because I was able to express all of what I went through at that time. I didn't share it though, because at that time I felt I had bared so much information. Ms. Murphy encouraged to share it even if it would eventually happen one day. Needless to say, that one day did happen. From that one moment, writing became my escape, but came to a halt when I moved to ATL. Once I started to live life and have happy moments, I didn't write as much. Boy, have I had some amazing experiences, whether I was enjoying my fave artists at concerts, meeting amazing people in the entertainment industry, having an amazing spiritual experience at church or just seeing old friends. Between those moments, working and school, I just haven't made the time to write until now. Since the last part of 2011 and now, I've been following and connecting myself to great writers via facebook and twitter. A fellow college alum just published his first book(so excited!!), which inspired me to do a blog. Since I'm always thinking thoughts, why not share them w/ the world. I hope anyone who is reading this is inspired to share their own experiences through writing.
Much love,
MissQuvi
