Why isn't this thing?

So my house has a fenced yard. All I have to do is is open the door to let the dog out to potty. Visiting my parents over the holidays, they have no fence, thus I had to take him out on the leash. He was good about staying in the yard unleashed, but during Xmas there was much yelling due to much romping and chasing through neighbor's yards.

So, I started looking for a portable wireless dog fence. Everything was hella expensive and ALL involved an additional collar with a large "shock" box.

From there I landed at training collars. Cheaper than the "fence," but had it's own specific receiver remote and also has an additional collar with a "static" function but additionally, a blinky light, a loud buzzer noise, and a vibrant function. I've had minor exchanges online about how people think they're "cruel" but I attempt to explain the intended purpose and the correct way to use the training aid. Well those thinking they were cruel weren't interested in truth and reason, but an exceptional number of people commented they really only used the vibration function and loved it.

From there I ended up at essentially Bluetooth key finder tags. Short distance (obviously,) controlled by a phone app which can make a loud ring tone thing to find your keys. Some have lights. And an alarm when the thing disconnects. Others claimed it can be a smartphone shutter button and voice recorder something.

So, what I want is a Bluetooth key tracker which: Can be clipped to the collar; Controlled via smartphone app; Has a set-able radial distance when crossed it would alarm; Has a Vibrate function; potentially also connectable to WiFi not just Bluetooth and maybe a one-way speaker.

Thus the thing has a fence like quality and signaling to the dog. Also let's you know dog is away. With the training abilities of a training collar without a separate specific reciever. The WiFi thing would hopefully create a radius "fence" area from the signal. Also potentially allows you to check the local of the pup in the house while you're at work. The one way speaker would be so I could hopefully tell said dog to "come" or gain his attention by using his name.

Ultimately, a clip to the collar device that makes it a training collar and invisible fence and short range tracker from your phone.

I have decided that at least among YA fiction it seems that there is a trend amount heroins: If you're wanted to like her, she'll be blonde. If you're wanted to identify with her, she'll be brunette. If you're wanted to consider her special, set apart, or having some unattainable quality (like magic,) she will be a redhead. Maybe it's just because I am a ginger I seem to notice the high-ish frequency of ginger characters... Though this might just be from vague remeberences of books I've read. Stephen King has some fascination with gingers as well it seems.

I had a strangely ridiculous dream the other night. I’ve wanted to tell a couple people, but I don’t think they would believe me. So, I decided to write down some of the weirder bits. This dream was not last night, but the one before. 

 I was in an unfamiliar house place. I don’t know if it was a party or what, but I recall more than a few people being around. Some were like Victoria’s Secret models walking around in their underwear. The guy I was enjoying the attention of became Johnny Depp. I reacted as if he’d always been Johnny Depp. For some reason we walked towards the back of the house. I’m not sure if it was a porch or the back wall was just not there. 

(Get ready for the Bizarre)

Johnny and I were looking at a television type thing. The screen was divided into sections with different numbers in them. For some reason Johnny said, “You take the 5′s and I’ll take the 2′s.”  I sort of shrugged and said okay.

To make sure I didn’t forget my number, Johnny carved 5 fairly large squares onto my left arm...with his teeth. Apparently I was okay with this. There was some random milling about that I don’t really remember. Next thing I remember clearly was a conversation about the antichrist. People started to get worked up because “the antichrist is on his way.” I don’t know if I said it aloud, but I asked, “how can you tell?” They showed me my left arm. There were at least 8 boxes scarred into it now. I don’t remember if the originals had it to begin with, but there was an X carved from corner to corner in each square. 

(As if it wasn’t insane enough already) 

In order to either stop the antichrist from coming or to keep me from become possessed or possessed by the antichrist, A number of people held me down flat with my face to the floor arms splayed out like a plane. Someone was on my back forcing my shoulders down. Someone else held the entirety of my right arm to the floor. Another had my left arm by the wrist holding it tightly to the floor. Johnny (I think he was still Johnny at this point) was using a lighter to burn the squares off my arm. Not just the outline, but the entire area within each box. I remember struggling as they held the lighter to my skin. I don’t recall physical pain, but it hurt... if that makes any sense. I think it was one of those instances where your brain fills in that the action SHOULD hurt and tells the body to react as if it does hurt. It went on for a strangely long time. They burned off at least 2 of the squares.

I don’t remember at what point I woke up and/or if the dream went on. I didn’t wake out of panic or anything. It was a long time after I woke up that it occurred to me I should probably call it a “nightmare,” but it lacked the waking panic of a nightmare. Dreams involving threats of an approaching demon/antichrist and having your arm carved and burned, certainly most people would count that as a nightmare... The whole realizing after waking that the dream should have been a nightmare, but I react just like I would to a regular dream is not entirely new to me. I think it started with a new antidepressant medication. 

And I hope to God it wasn’t a prophetic dream like those in the bible. If it is, I’ll certainly try to save us all from the antichrist by trying to let my arm skin be burnt off.

Do you think there is someone somewhere that writes of action plans for the government for “impossible scenarios”? Like the president goes “oh fuck, we are actually getting invaded by aliens! Get Gilbert on the phone!” Kinda like you have a fire or evacuation plan for every building. You don’t necessarily expect the building to catch fire, but just in case. 

I don’t remember what I was watching, but I had the epiphany “we are probably totally unprepared for a kaiju attack.” But maybe they do have an all purpose contingency plan for that...

Dear currently returning to school students...

I stopped at my undergrad degree. I graduated in 2009. I've had a year round full time job since 2011. I still get stressed out at back to school time. Nothing changes because again year round full time job. Oh and you know those dreams where you're stuck in class with a project due or exam you didn't know about? Yeah, those don't stop after graduation. In fact that makes it more confusing in dream.

I'd forgotten how great summer nights and summer showers smell when you live in a rural area where the yard looks like this, my parent's house and my childhood home. Last night I drive back here from my sister's wedding with windows down and music loud. The smell of summer night with out streetlight and rarely another car on the road. This was my the favorite part of my high school job, the late night drive home. City living is different. :/

Police tighten security after Baton Rouge cop killings

Officers Montrell Jackson, Matthew Gerald and Brad Garafola were all killed Sunday after being ambushed and shot by a lone gunman in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Alright people, can’t we all just STOP KILLING PEOPLE! We have 2 men wrongfully killed by police under the suspicion of being armed and dangerous. Now we have 8 dead police officers. If they’re taking the turn of phrase “score to settle” literally I’d say the retaliation against the police was, no pun intended, overkill. 

Of Course “Black lives matter.” But also Cop live matter. ALL LIVES MATTER Stop human on human violence. By gunning down anyone you’re creating a need for police to use deadly force. You are compounding the problem. Stop. Everybody, just stop killing. STOP KILLING!

Please help me save Chrom!!!

Hey, Ina here. I’m sorry for this, but I’m in desperate need of help. 

Chrom has been in and out of the vet for the past 2 months. He has been suffering from chronic urinary blockages back to back. These urinary blockages only happen to male cats and cause them extreme pain and can even lead to death if the cat is unable to urinate. Due to all these emergency vet visits my family has already dished out over $2,000 trying to treat these blockages and since they are rapidly reoccurring the doctor suggested Chrom to get the perineal urethrostomy (P.U. surgery) for cats, which essentially widens his urethra so he can pass any blockage. He already had his 3rd blockage in just of June,13th and is in dire need of this surgery.

Unfortunately, we cannot afford this $3000 surgery and my parents are thinking of putting him to sleep. I’ve had Chrom is only 4 YEARS OLD and has plenty of time left in this world. I DO NOT want to euthanize him just because we cannot afford a simple surgery.

My step brother made a gofundme here to help raise some money. I’ve only have $500 left in my emergency savings and would really appreciate the help. Even if you can’t donate, please reblog and share this around. I’m seriously determined to help save my sweet prince, Chrom.
