♱ tri-wizard tournament . . . for the marauders era shifters. having the tri-wizard tournament occur in 1977, with the marauders being (obviously!) major players

♱ truth or hex . . . are you bored, looking for a (relatively) harmless game to play with your friends or fellow housemates? truth or hex is right up your alley ! similar to the muggle "truth or dare" game (but you get a little singed in the process)

♱ exploding snaps . . . similar to truth or hex, this is a perfect game to play among friends (and even your foes). you can play in your common room, in the dining hall (though professor mcgonagall would not exactly be pleased during dinner time), or even in class. garner the biggest group possible, and may the best wizard win !

♱ gossip girl . . . an upper year student creates a gossip girl-esque outlet, which creates nothing less than chaos and slight paranoia among students (and even some professors)

samhain / halloween

♱ spooky stories . . . with your fellow housemates, you sit around your fireplace and share your scary stories. whether it be a story about the poltergeist that you SWEAR haunts the astronomy classroom, or the figure you saw in the restricted area of the library that you can't explain

♱ pumpkin carving . . . a school-wide pumpkin carving contest is held, with house points on the line !

♱ trick-or-treating . . . the professors arrange for the lower years to trick-or-treat on halloween, with the help of prefects and head students. older students, instead, can indulge themselves in the various tricks and treats among the hogsmeade shops

♱ samhain ball . . . every year, on october 31st, a massive masquerade ball to commemorate the end of samhain (and celebrate halloween, of course) is held for the entire student-body. students spend hours planning their outfits, and there are legendary rumours about the ball held in 1922

yule / christmas

♱ burning yule logs . . . before leaving for winter break, you and your fellow house members burn a yule log to release old energy and bring in warmth, happiness, and hope for the upcoming year

♱ snowball fight . . . although (allegedly) started by the 7th years, the whole school gets into a massive snowball fight in the courtyard

♱ yule lads . . . starting in the second week of december, things around hogwarts begin to get a bit sillier and more disruptive than usual. the culprits, you discover, are the pesky thirteen yule lads! these mischievous spirits love to pull pranks and leave nothing more than mischief in their wake. if you share this love for naughtiness, you may even wake up to a potato in your shoe ! (and a rotten potato if you're a goody two shoes)

♱ yule ball . . . every year, on the last day of classes, a massive yule ball is held for all students. this often includes many hours spent with professor mcgonagall, learning how to make sure you don't have two left feet.

♱ carnival . . . a spring carnival is held annually in hogsmeade to celebrate the first day of spring

♱ spring break . . . you and your friends, during the easter holidays, devise to spend the latter half of your break together getting up to shenanigans in each of your hometowns. each day is spent in a different town, with an itinerary of pubs, shopping, and all-around craziness on the schedule !

♱ easter egg hunt . . . to celebrate easter, the house elves put together an easter egg scavenger hunt for the entire student body. some hiding places include: in dumbledore's office, in a chest at the bottom of the black lake, the astronomy tower (but like, hanging off), the forbidden forest, and on-top of the whomping willow. good luck !

♱ road trip . . . you conjure up a plan with your friends to embark on a trip during the summer, driving across europe all-together to get the movie-esque, stereotypical teenage experience

♱ the great gatsby . . . one of your rich, money-older-than-hogwarts friends has a massive castle with endless house elves and rooms for dancing. as luck would have it, their parents are leaving for a week in the heat of the summer, and they decided to hold the most gatsby-esque party you've ever seen. there's even a green light on the end of the dock !

♱ diagon alley . . . prior to the start of the school year, you and your friends venture down to diagon alley in order to buy all of your school supplies together. chaos ensues, naturally

i. THE WIZARDING SCHOOLS

Zhōngyāng Academy of Divine Arts is the Chinese wizarding school located in Zhangjiajie, Hunan. With its buildings built on the tops of several peaks. The school’s layout is based on the four cardinal directions and a central peak. It accepts students from all over China, Taiwan, Mongolia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

At the center is Huanglong Castle, which contains the Huanglong common room at the top, the central hall and the classrooms on the lower levels. From this central castle, wooden bridges connect to four other common rooms, each located on its own mountain peak. Each common room also contains the classrooms for its house’s specialty. The wooden bridges make it possible to travel between the central castle and the four other peaks. The central Huanglong Castle is the tallest and serves as the main administrative and magical center, overseeing all four houses. The school follows the rules of Feng Shui (wind-water) which is an ancient Chinese practice of arranging spaces to create harmony between people and their environment by balancing energy (Qi) flow, focusing on natural elements, decluttering, light, and strategic object placement for well-being, prosperity, and good fortune in homes or workplaces.

Houses;

Qinglong (Azure Dragon), which represents the East and the spring season, a time of rebirth. Linked to the element of Wood, signifying growth and life. Controls wind, rain, typhoons, and floods, bringing fertility and order. The house subject is nature & plant magic. Their castle sits atop of the East peak. The common room is spring themed, flowers and three branches often grow from the walls of the room. The castle has an empty square shape as the common room has a natural pond in the middle of it. Students from this house wear teal & silver uniforms.

Zhuque (Vermillion Bird), which represents the South, summer season, and the element of Fire, embodying fortune, passion, rebirth, and renewal. Guardian spirit of the southern sky, serving the Fenghuang. The house subject is fire magic. Their castle sits atop of the South peak and it's the warmest one though all the year. The common room is summer and fire themed, when a student gets very emotional, the room's lighting turns into an intense shade of red and the candles flicker uncontrollably. Students from this house wear vermillion & gold uniforms.

Baihu (White Tiger), which represents the West, the autumn season, the metal element, strength, courage, protection, and righteousness. Its roar dispels darkness, and it embodies the unwavering spirit of a warrior, using immense power with fairness. The house subject is alchemy. The castle sits atop of the West peak, which has a grand cave full of metals and elements. The common room is autumn themed, with strong winds that make the trees loose their leafs every evening, and making them regrow overnight. Students from this house wear silver & bronze uniforms.

Xuanwu (Black Tortoise), which represents the North and the winter season. Associated with the cold season, the element of water, and the flow of life's energy. The tortoise is a classic symbol of long life, making Xuanwu a god of life itself. The house subject is water magic. The castle sits atop of the North peak surrounded by snow all year long while the waterfall never freezes. The common room is winter themed, and flecks of magic fall from the ceiling like snow. Students from this house wear black & gray uniforms.

Huanglong (Yellow Dragon), which represents the Center, earth element, wisdom, imperial power, and balance in Chinese culture, often depicted as a golden, hornless dragon linked to the legendary Yellow Emperor. The house subject is earth magic. The common room is part of the main castle and sits atop the main floors, always surrounded by clouds and kissed by the sun. Students from this house wear gold & white uniforms.

Sorting;

The sorting occurs when students arrive at the school by boat. The loong, the giant chinese dragon that protects the school from the prying eyes of muggles, looks into the eyes of the newly arrived alumni and sees their future (yes, he speaks). The house is picked by the loong as the one more fitting for the skills and passions of the witch or wizard. Unlike Hogwarts or Ilvermorny, there are no specific personality traits linked to a specific house. After the sorting, students get into a series of carriages that will be all pulled at the same time by the dragon itself to the castle on top of the mountain peak.

Subjects;

Zhongyang runs a eight year program, much like Hogwarts in my dr. Students get to pick all the subjects but their house subject, which is a core one. They can pick up to eight subjects. The subjects are; divination, trasfiguration, charms & spell casting (which includes defensive magic), xylomancy, water magic, nature & plant magic, fire magic, earth magic, alchemy, healing, astronomy & astrology, history of magic, mythology of east asia, arthmancy, traditional culinary magic, flying & apparition. The extra clubs are; traditional arts & dances, foreign studies, orchestra, fei tan (racing), gobstones & wizarding chess.

Wizarding traditions;

Wand craft in the wizarding community of China is a sacred practice, much like the African and South Asian traditions. Wands are specifically made out of trees that only grow in this territory. The main five woods used for wands are; the Ginkgo Biloba (China's national tree), Tibetan Cypress, Chinese Tallow, Siberian Larch & Catalpa. More than often the magical cores used come from very powerful and rare magical plants that can only be found in East Asia. The most common magical cores are; the Sun Lotus (one of the most rare substances, believed to contain Qi), Dragon's Egg Flower (semi-sentient plant), White Snake Orchid (sentient) and Viper Wasp Dragon's Wings (which are a small bug-like magical creature that lives only three days before dying, linked to the Sun Lotus and it's pollination. It is believed that when a Viper Wasp Dragon dies after eating the pollen of a Sun Lotus, it's corpse turns into the flower). Here wizards and witches don't usually interfere with the life of magical creatures, regarding them too highly to be domesticated and used for potions or wand cores. The traditional wizarding medicine relies entirely on magical plants and ancient magical techniques.

Most common patronuses;

The most common patronuses (and animagi) are animals tightly linked to Chinese and Mongolian culture such as; giant pandas, dugongs, sables, pallas cats, sun bears, asian elephants, chinese alligators, golden snub-nosed monkeys, golden phaesants, chinese mountain cats, przewalski's horses, saiga antelopes, bactrian camels and mongolian khulans.

Wizarding Community;

The Wizarding community of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore & Mongolia is very large compared to other countries. The wizarding population is somewhere between 200.000 and 250.000. The Wizarding People's Congress is based in Xi'an, which is one of the most ancient and populated cities. It was founded in 1646 and is led by the President of the Wizarding People's Congress and is home to four magical departments; The Department of Wizarding Law, The Department of International Wizarding Cooperation, The Department of Wizarding Accidents and the Department of Regulation of Magic. Alongside two offices; Office of Wizarding Education and Office of Muggle Relations. Much like the Ministry of Magic includes both the UK and Ireland, the Congress includes Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mongolia. Considering the size of the population, Zhongyang would most likely fit around 3.000-4.500 students. Making it one of the largest Wizarding schools in the world.

this is a brief tour of my bag in my maruaders era hogwarts dr! this bag has been with me though literally everything and she's only holding on due to mending enchantments I put on her when I first started to notice her descent. some of the stuff in her is...probably less than legal. but hey! snitches get stiches, alright? inspired by this post by @chaaistained and this one by @hrrtshape!!

my trusty messenger bag that i carry literally everywhere with me. you wouldn't catch me dead using just my pockets to carry all my shit. she's basically a staple of my appearance. anyway, let's open her up!

BUT FIRST——THE DECOR!

✦ my pinback buttons! the "kind hearted degenerate" was stolen from Sirius' patch jacket (I think he let me take it), the "cult leader" was a gift from barty because of course it fucking was, and the other two my sister, eden, and I found just outside of diagon alley (we fought over who got to keep them. I won, obviously. so, i display them proudly, she hates it).

✦ i also have my prefect pin stuck onto the strap of my bag because it's so much better to have on there than my robes. no one's gotten mad at me so whatever.

✦ the dice keychain was stolen from eden's room. I thought it was pretty and she hasn't missed it so

✦ the froggy keychain I found in a muggle shop and needed immediately. I may have a secret obsession with froggos, my friends may or may not be very aware of this fact. he also might be cursed, I swear I hear him ribbit when it gets quiet.

✦ the other keychain I found half-buried in a public park. no idea where it came from or how it got there.

ONTO THE POCKETS! my bag has four pockets on the outside, two that close and two that are just slots on the side. they're all full of shit.

LEFT FRONT POCKET

this pocket is entirely full of trash. literal trash. some of it is cute notes from my friends and such, but the other half is actual trash. I say I'm going to use it to junk journal, I don't. It just sits there in the pocket, unused. I refuse to clean it out.

but the notes!

✦ three fortunes from three fortune cookies that I got on three separate occasions at three different restaurants. — the first "you have the ability to see the bright side in things, do not lose that ability" I got on an outing with my family. it was a rough time all around and the whole dinner was tense, but getting that fortune just reaffirmed my belief in aiming for the best, even when it's unrealistic, so I kept it. — the "your love of music will be an important part of your life" I got on one of my first real dates with sirius. I already knew he dreamed of being a musician, so I took it as a sign we were going to work out. and well, it was correct. — finally, the "whatever you want to do, do it. there are only so many tomorrows" fortune found me when I was wrestling with my feelings. I hadn't intended to fall for remus, but I had. I didn't know what to do. but, I took this as a sign to just go for it and be true to my feelings. It worked out. so I kept it as a reminder, like I did with sirius' one.

✦ "I'll let you drag me to hell if it means you'll hold my hand" note that sirius passed me one day in the middle of class. like that wouldn't make me insane in public. stupid dog.

✦ "kind of a pretty boy, isn't he?" note that I found dropped on the ground in divination. when I picked it up, some girl turned beet red. amusing, really.

✦ "we are all haunted houses" note that I wrote on the corner of a notepad and tore out. I found it at the bottom of my bag weeks later. I cant for the life of me remember what I was talking about, though I think I was onto something.

✦ "not everything has to make sense. let it go. choose peace." note that was written at the top of one of my papers for divination class. professor was far too done with my constant questioning of why things worked the way they did.

✦ "just make it exist first, you can make it good later" sticky note that I wrote to stick onto my writing desk to try and help ward off my perfectionism. It remained there for years until I accidently knocked it down and it refused to stick up again. so, i shoved it into my bag with the others.

✦ "the memory is unclear but the feelings remain" written on a blank polaroid photo. barty accidently took a picture as he dropped my camera. evan wrote the words on the picture that came out. I think he thought he was being poetic. I kept it regardless.

✦ "I think you're afraid because we get along so well. I think it scares you." one of the notes sirius taunted me with in our rivals phase of our rivals to lovers arc. torn in two and carefully taped back together.

✦ "dear me, don't fall back into old patterns just because they're familiar. love, me." letter written for an assignment. that 'write a letter to your younger self' writing prompt nonsense? I didn't want to do it, so I wrote the first thing that came to my head. still got an O though.

✦ an unopened letter. the front says "open when fate decrees it". that trelawney girl got a cheshire smile when I picked it up. I've had it for five years.

✦ also a train ticket from my very first year of hogwarts

✦ other trash in this pocket includes: a to-do list that says "1. ace your o.w.ls, 2. take over the world", at least four salazar slytherin trading cards, a receipt from the record shop in hogsmede, a punch card from the three broomsticks with ten punches in it (I probably should use it at some point), a scrawled list of hexes that barty copied from the restricted section of the library, and a note I passed to reggie that says "do me a favor, kill your brother" that he threw back at me with a scrawled "NO." underneath.

RIGHT FRONT POCKET

the snack pouch, basically. if I'm hungry, this is where I'm reaching.

✦ a chocolate frog that's probably melted slightly with how long it's been in there. I think barty gave it to me on the train ride. it's probably still good, right?

✦ raven chocolates that are literally better than any wizarding candy, trust.

✦ the swiss army knife that eden has a matching one of. i enchanted it so that the blade doesn't grow dull. honestly, much better than a wand half the time, but don't tell anyone I said that.

✦ vampire pill box that has enchanted ibuprofen. thank you dorcas my love. one of these does 10x the effect as a regular without the damage to your internal organs or risk of an overdose.

✦ a crocheted chanel rose made for me by evan's sister, pandora. it's hella impressive actually.

✦ my trusty vivienne westwood lighter. used to be my mom's, I took it from her purse as a well rebellious thirteen year old. it also has a matching cigarette case that I also stole. i was having my kleptomaniac era. there is also skull bandages tucked inside the case.

where i keep all the loose things that would get lost in the bottom of my bag otherwise.

✦ a jar of human teeth. no, I will not explain where I got them.

✦ a leatherbound journal full of all my secrets. jinxed, obviously. possibly with some that I would get in trouble for casting. their fault really for trying to snoop. includes detailed plans of world domination, lists of hexes and curses ordered by their usefulness, recounts of possibly prophetic dreams, and lists of very good numbers

✦ poetry journal for my midnight poetic ramblings. not jinxed, not yet. also includes my casebook recounts of strange romantic feelings, complete with red string.

✦ a special edition of the strange case of dr. jekyll and mr. hyde, my favorite book of all time. this edition was a gift from reggie, who knows my love of it.

✦ a fountain pen for my sudden bursts of inspirational musing. enchanted to never dry of ink and never need to dip it. I stole it from my older brother, alastair. I can't help it, he makes such good enchantments.

✦ a fancy flask. yes, of course there's alcohol in it. what did you take me for, a lightweight?

✦ vivienne westwood gloves for the colder months, an enchanted lining to keep your hands at the perfect temperature, not too hot and not too cold.

✦ the box of my trusty tarot cards. they always seem to call me out. they also have a bit of an attitude. typical.

surrounded by class 2A in our shared dorms with a birthday cake in front of me , i wait till the birthday song mina leads to finish before i blow out the candles . hanta's arm snakes around my waist , eyes curious as he leans to ask , "what did you wish for?" the others were diving for the cake already , none of them paying attention to us . "if i told you, it wouldn't come true," i grin up at him , taking a bit of cake on my finger and smearing it on his nose , causing him to laugh .

my parents had made it clear that we had dinner plans to celebrate my birthday , but i was free to do whatever till that time comes . of course , the volleyball club had celebrated it at the end of the session by surprising me with a joint gift the day before ( a personalised "karasuno's darling manager" shirt that matched with yachi and kiyoko ) , but for now , i had no idea what to do . i had planned to just relax at home for a bit , maybe even go see if tobio is free , when a knock sounded at my door . i dragged myself from the couch , already cursing the need to move when i had just gotten comfortable , but the person on the other side of the door has my jaw dropping : kuroo had came all the way here from tokyo . he barely gives me any time to change into something suitable for society before he's dragging me out for an itinerary he had planned days in advance ( or so he tells me ) , and i have the time of my life .

i squeeze peter's hand before i blew out the candles , surrounded by my family , his and harry's . i was surprised norman made it at all , but from his winning smile as he showed off his gift ( a plasma tv , for some reason ) , i figured it had something to do with him being a close business partner with my parents . harry looked conflicted at it when they both showed up , but he had plastered on a smile before coming to join us . peter had helped aunt may bake the cake , and it was delicious , making everyone go back for second helpings .
