So… in this scene (the one with Alastor threatening Rosie, shadows behind him—yeah, this one), something exciting happens that I don’t think enough people are talking about.
He’s acting like he could kill anyone at the hotel without consequence. But the silhouettes behind him?
Those aren’t random.
Those are the exact people he would hesitate with the most.
Let’s go down the line—starting from the far right:
Alastor adores that little gremlin. He literally kept the roach crown she gave him when he dubbed him “King Roach” (foreshadowing… hello??). And when the Vees attacked, he didn’t snap because of the hotel itself—while he had a plan for Vox, he revised it to ensure that Husk and Niffty were let go when Niffty was going to be hurt. They were EXTRA and not original to his plan.
He acts indifferent, but she’s the closest thing he has to a favorite.
This one takes a second to unpack.
Alastor doesn’t dislike Angel. Angel is awkward around him sometimes, but he’s never once disrespected him the way others do. And Alastor absolutely knows what Vox and Valentino did to him. Of course he does.
Plus: Husk and Angel are connected. Alastor can put that together too.
Angel isn’t a threat. He’s someone who’s been through hell (literally), who keeps trying. And Alastor… respects effort. Even if he’ll never say it.
This one is more complicated.
Husk is owned by Alastor, sure. But Husk has also stepped up for Alastor—and for others—multiple times. Husk and Alastor share that energy of:
“I tolerate you because you’re competent.”
It's not warm, but there’s a baseline of understanding. And respect.
In a world where both hate 98% of the population, finding the 2% matters.
Wearing the crown. Front and center. And CLOSEST to Alastor.
Charlie is his softest spot. His biggest weakness.
And eventually? His greatest enemy and his salvation.
Everything about her hits Alastor where he’s weakest: hope, ambition, love, purpose. His entire deal with Rosie literally circles around Charlie. She is the closest “soul” he’s ever allowed himself to interact with on a different level.
He has seen what she can do now and what she can influence.
Charlie is what he wants (power, purpose) and what he needs (connection).
She’s the only one who will cut through him completely in his villain arc.
She’s the voice that gets in, and he enjoys her song and dance.
This one surprises me at first, but it actually makes a ton of sense.
Vaggie is the protector of the hotel. She protects everyone—even him, indirectly. And Alastor respects competence and loyalty, not sentiment.
She’s Charlie’s shield. And if Alastor cares about Charlie, then Vaggie becomes important by extension.
Plus, she kept her own massive secret for years.
And Alastor, king of secrets and deals?
He respects that in a twisted mirror-way.
Now THIS is the wild card that tells us the most about him.
Because why would Emily—an angel—be in that silhouette lineup?
Because she risked her entire existence for him.
They had never formally met. She didn’t know him. But she saw him fighting on their side for one instant, and she acted. She threw herself into danger, lost a wing, and dragged him out.
Alastor had no idea how to process that.
You can see the shock.
And in his calculus-driven mind? That earns a place.
Even if he hates it.
Even if he pretends he doesn’t.
It’s a tit-for-tat respect he never asked for.
So what does this all mean for Alastor’s Villain Arc?
These are the people he sees differently:
Angel Dust — potentially redeemable
Charlie — the one who gets through his armor
Vaggie — the strategist who protects the pieces he values
Emily — the unexpected loyalty he can’t ignore
These six are the closest thing he has to a “circle,” whether he admits it or not.
And as he slips deeper into his villain role, these dynamics are going to matter.
A lot.
Some will slow him down.
Some will push him forward.
Some will break him.
But together?
They’re the fault lines that will fracture the Radio Demon.
And I LOVE ITTTTTTTT
