It sucks that restaurants don’t have their own delivery service anymore. Most are tied to uber eats and service is increasingly shit on that app (they offered & applied a coupon then removed it after I paid, and another time assigned my order to multiple drivers then lost track of who had it). I tried to use this app from a Mexican restaurant that I definitely used before and now it’s saying they don’t deliver to my address. Ok great.

Not the store I wanted to order from but that blueberry lemon cheesecake from Popeyes is delightful!

I still want alternatives to order food online though. Pickup won’t even work since I’m just gonna be paying twice for Ubers anyways. The Chinese spot and the deli can only work so long before I get tired of them too. I also don’t have confidence in DoorDash I feel it’ll be more of the same problems if I switch to them or a similar delivery app. Kmt.

The lead got to beat up her friend’s abusive boyfriend, said friend also got to hit him over the head with a cinder block and not go to jail, she then got to beat up these serial rapists (one of whom she already wanted to kick in the head before), they later tortured and killed those guys and just moved on, there was no follow through on the straight romance subplot, she got reimbursed for her apartment lol and moved in with her friend and they lived happily ever after. The comedy aspect was actually funny and like I already said the action was incredible. 10/10 viewing experience truly

It is still so jarring hearing well meaning straight people say queer. From the black women youtubers to Zohran Mamdani lol, it’s simply everywhere. I wonder why saying “gay community” fell out of fashion? Like there were a couple options before we landed on straight people saying “queer”, no? Gay community, LGBT community, LGBT+ community, etc. and that’s just a couple off the dome. Like, hello?

Anytime a stylist starts talking bout some “hey boo” or “hello pretty!” some bullshit always follows lol. $50 non refundable deposit via Zelle and cash only for remainder balance. Exact change only at that…ok so that sounds like a money laundering scheme. Also a good way to scam customers while giving shit service. Strictly no company on the day of the appointment too. I saw small boho knotless braids can take 9-10 hours. I’m no expert but how the hell?! Last time I got butt length Senegalese twists those African braiders had me together in 4-5 hours. The braids were tight as fuck on my scalp but nonetheless I appreciated the speed. Oh also with the 9-10 hour estimate they also mentioned to not book the service if you have “time limitations for the day” so it could take longer? Girl whatever

Anytime I look for local braiders or a salon I remember why I just wing it in my bathroom. Cause it really gets to a point. Fortunately there’s another promising option within walking distance. A silk press doesn’t hold up in that kind of humidity so I really do need to do the braids also it’s been a while since I had any so I figure it might be a nice change.

Someone forwarded a job post to me which I immediately applied for. I hadn’t been actively looking for one at my current company (I’d apply to some on LinkedIn anytime I got extremely annoyed at work lol but that site is almost useless at this point). I think I have good odds of getting it and it would be a nice change too, in terms of pay raise and new people to work with. I’ve already complained about my current coworker before so won’t rehash but they’re just so abrasive…and it sticks out more now since we’ve lost the other people I was ok with on the team. Anyways let’s see how the application process goes. I’m genuinely excited (that pay bump was serious lol) plus I’m looking forward to see what I can do in negotiations for remote work.

I was looking at this analysis of the U.S./Israel vs Iran war by this Asian man. He’s a Chinese professor if I’m not mistaken. I found it interesting but I did take issue with how he was characterizing Islam/muslims. Like it gave me pause but wasn’t too outlandish and like I said interesting (used game theory to predict what would happen in the war). I was curious about his other lectures and I saw one on immigration. Tell me why it was just some manosphere nonsense in academic language? Like that shit was so alarming! I’ve been out of school for a decade so I only vaguely know how bad things are in higher ed through articles. That and random nobodies online pushing that rhetoric of “education is not important”, “women will end up lonely/they’ll have to hug their degrees at night”, yada yada. But to see it in action…I mean he was running the gamut, from blaming DEI for lack of Asian men’s success in the corporate world, anti-Black and anti-Latino racism with the implication that these groups are violent, uneducated and sit around making babies, giving credence to white replacement theory, etc and this wasn’t even the end of the maybe 40 minute video? I had to tap out before the end. Men really need to start out in fucking jail and work their way out! The concept of this man teaching high schoolers and/or college students…this shit is more grim than I could have imagined.

Made a mistake/was proven wrong with something at work and wanted to curl into myself and die, as one done when things like that happen, but then I remembered this even worse mistake and made myself chuckle. Life goes on, it really does

I would’ve liked some vindication not gonna lie. Someone was arguing against me with AI tools so it’s the principle. But hey…I am glad I got my slight in against AI use at least (third party weighed in and the other person was right but not because of the ai generated info they cooked up).

My stairwell at the back was so cold I could see my breath. 1. I hope the builders of this house perish 2. This is the second time I’ve seen just how easily you could freeze to death in your home. The first being when I couldn’t feel my toes and had to sit in from of my heater. Not even sure what caused that entirely, I was inside the house and wearing socks with the temp set how it normally is. That’s part of the terror though, anything could lead to it. Bills have been sky high because of data centers and AI so if I couldn’t pay then the utility company could shut it down, more stress on the grid leads to more outages (again because of ai) while it’s freezing outside, or your body could randomly not be circulating heat properly then you’re going numb with frostbite. Like this is nuts. Why are we ok with people freezing to death in their homes? Not even to get into what the homeless are facing in subzero temperatures. It is sick.
