The following are photos from a motion capture shoot that I lead with the help of other Drexel students to help with professor Dave Mauriello's ongoing research project. The team is working on creating a virtual Carole Lombard that will model dresses from the Drexel University's historic clothing collection. It will be part of an exhibit for Winterthur museum in 2015. It's exciting to be part of the early production process and something I look forward to see grow over the next few years!
For the past term I have been working with fellow students on converting our capture volume at Drexel University into a performance capture stage. We are slowly getting through technical hurdles but today both Matt Haas and I were able to cross one off the list. We did this by combining both our Vicon system with the Measurand Shapehand system running in real time. We also just received approval to work with Faceware's technology and are looking forward to seeing it's potential over the next few months. This all leads into a bigger research project that is brewing at Drexel which I'm excited to be a part of. Until next time!
I wanted to share a case study that I have been working on that involves the game Journey. The first part of this process is sharing a narrative review that I have submitted to GDC 2013's Narrative Review. This paper specifically breaks down the different narrative elements in the game and starts the discussion about how visual composition works with the visual narrative in order to speak to the player and draw the players attention. Feel free to let me know of any comments!

Fantastic talk by Chris Solarski. Very interesting discussion about constructing emotion within a game.
Disney pulls out a grand slam with this short in my book. There is so much about this that works well. From the music, the animation style, the layout, and more. Take some time today and check it out if you havent!
