‘you wanted to be a stage magician as a child? that makes sense’ <- close friend’s testimony
Hey y’all, I’m Vic, and this is my kitchen sink blog, tho my most current fixation is The Freak Circus. If you dig back into the layers you’ll find Legend of Zelda, Hazbin Hotel, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Pathologic, and general MXTX works. I also have (mostly inactive) Yu-Gi-Oh and Naruto sideblogs, @domaintern and @narutoheretic. My recurrent interests are monsters and what we mean when we say ‘monster’, horror and its potential and problems, necrobotany, video games that give me emotions, fairy tales. I also write a lot of weird, creepy fiction, and will never not be delighted by questions about it.
Proship in the sense of anti-censorship, pro-freak. I don’t have a DNI, but I block freely. I’m an adult but teens are free to follow--just check the tags list and filter what you need to.
semi-exhaustive list of useful tags under the cut!
Caution: most tags only extend a little while into my blog’s past currently, as I’ve overhauled my tagging system and tried to tag more consistently over time. Requests to tag will, unfortunately, likely not be taken--I have my hands full sometimes tagging things for myself.
#happy days in hell (hazbin tag) - my HH tag for self-made posts
#you know it when you see it - nsft stuff, as mentioned. #gore cw and #blood cw are often used for gory stuff.
#gay necromancy: the show - started as my CQL tag, is also my MDZS tag now.
#it’s an old song and we’re gonna sing it again - Personal LoZ posts.
#serious business - IRL issues and harsh subjects
#vic talks - my catchall personal posts tag. Posts that mention my IRL life will be tagged #sunflower radio hour. religion related will be #we will never run out of trees. #easy on the eyes is my selfie tag.
#murder is cool actually is my catchall tag for less serious horror posts, memes, gifsets etc. #we need to talk about horror are my personal opinion posts/interesting writing on horror I find.
#profane talk - stuff about fallen angels
#book talk is for posts about reading and books, #films films films is the same for movies. monsterposting is #monstrosity, villainposting is #all those who shun the light.
Stuff about my original writing, or the craft of original writing, will be tagged #some do it for enjoyment; others for employment. I have a few WIPS with tags of their own, primarily #devil doesn’t live here, #heart hands bone and #maxsquared.
And finally, if I’m bitching about something, I’ll usually stick it under a cut and tag #negativity; and posts about trying to be a better person generally will be tagged #trying trying trying.
i think one of the worst things the left wing internet ever did was push the idea that oppression is basically a virtue, and being oppressed is a sign of your morality. it has made it like…impossible for some of you to hold the idea that most people are privileged in some ways and oppressed in others. AND a lot of you seem to have it in your mind that terrible people cannot be oppressed, and that oppressed people cannot do terrible things, which is a dangerous rhetoric to hold imo.
Not only is it important so you don't get taken advantage of by terrible people wielding their oppressions as weapons, but also your convictions against oppression should not be contingent on the morality of the people suffering. Shitty people don't deserve to be oppressed either. Human rights are one of those things you only really understand and believe in if you see them as universal, not conditional.
It is true that people in fandom equate top bottom with dom sub and probably mean the latter when they "headcanon" the former but I also think people need to be more open to the idea that D/s doesn't necessarily get indicated from personality either. Like for example a shy person who gets pushed around easily very well might enjoy having a dominant role with a partner they trust. That can even be affirming. Like BECAUSE of this issue you have in your real life to feel like someone will submit to YOU and defer to YOU is special for example. I think the idea that you just play the role that suits your personality in real life is part of why these same people seem to genuinely think being a Dom is like, kind of bad and scary
scientists are trying to discover something harder than getting out of bed to go to work in the morning. and dont make a fucking penis joke ok they already checked everyone’s dick and it doesn’t even come close
sometimes my Beloved Mutuals will rb a post about a certain character archetype and i will have to physically restrain myself from saying “yeah you would say that wouldn’t you”
getting stuff triggered is so obnoxious sometimes because you'll be like hm there's a brief moment in a story of someone being told off by someone they have a familial-esque bond with for taking meds when they 'didn't need them'. well there goes sleeping tonight and also my nerves will be raw for at least a day or two to come 👍
Perfectionism seduces its hapless victims, stringing them along for miles on end, feeding off their draining pursuit. Many have managed to untangle themselves from its curse and with it became free.
Procrastination is a liar, telling them how Time itself revolves around them, fooling them that tomorrow will never come, but tomorrow is exactly what’s coming, leaving their victims in ruin as the sands of time evaporate before their very eyes.
Self-doubt holds its victim’s hearts hostage. Pushing pins into the hearts of its many victims, it feeds of the joy they had, leaving them hollowed husks, paranoid and indecisive.
