One of my New Years’ Resolutions for 2016 has been to clean up my beauty routine and go for toxic free products. This is the first step in that direction, the #KimberlySnyder collection from #VapourOrganicBeauty #GreenBeauty #OrganicMakeup

2 years ago I embarked on the journey of cooking my way through #KimberlySnyder's book, #TheBeautyDetoxSolution but then grad school took over my life 😅 Since then- Kimberly has authored two more books and I graduated! So I'm back on my countdown to the end 😆 this is the 33rd recipe out of 51, 18 more to go 👊🏽
And I'm back! New posts coming soon 😁 crazy how life gets in the way and things get set aside however I'm still a believer in the Beauty Detox approach to food and I'm am looking forward to finalizing the recipes in this book, with you!
More like, this is your life!
Is this not the most radiant bride ever? ! Kimberly Snyder on her wedding day, October 5, 2013.
"1. Never lose your capacity of enthusiasm. 2. Never lose your capacity of indignation. 3. Never judge people – don’t type them too quickly. But in a pinch never first assume that a man is bad; first assume that he is good and that, at worst, he is in the gray area between bad and good. 4. Never be impressed by wealth alone or thrown by poverty. 5. If you can’t be generous when it’s hard to be, you won’t be when it’s easy. 6. The greatest builder of confidence is the ability to do something – almost anything – well. 7. When confidence comes, then strive for humility; you aren’t as good as all that. 8. The way to become truly useful is to seek the best that other brains have to offer. Use them to supplement your own, and be prepared to give credit to them when they have helped. 9. The greatest tragedies in the word and personal events stem from misunderstandings. So communicate! We are all students of life. Want to get to the head of the class? Pay attention and take notes.

I'm still trucking along with the Glowing Lean System, just haven't had the chance to blog about it. This semester is kicking my but. I'll be back soon but in the meantime, cheers to pumpkin season.

Not BD or CF, but I just had to share! I am a girl after all!
My childhood best friend of over 20 yrs. came to visit from out of state and this was the recipe I chose…… it was amazing!
Raw chocolate energy bars
100g walnuts 50g almonds 50g chia seeds 40g ground flax 50g hemp seeds 20g cocoa powder 30g coconut flakes 75g pepitas (pumpkin seeds) 40g golden raisins 50g raisins 40g sunflower seeds 175g dates 1Tbsp coconut oil 50g apple sauce
(use all raw ingredients, virgin expeller pressed coconut oil, and the only ingredient in your apple sauce should be apples)
Place dates, cocoa powder, coconut oil, apple sauce & 50g of your walnuts in a bowl, set aside. Put everything else in a food processor and pulse a few times until everything is roughly chopped. You want some big pieces in there, so this is really just to break up the whole nuts etc. Dump all that in a separate bowl, put the contents of your first bowl in the food processor now and process until its a fudge-like consistency. If it seems too dry you can add more coconut oil or apple sauce. Transfer everything to the same bowl and mix it together. You’ll probably need to get your hands dirty for this. I did. Press into a suitable lined container, refrigerate for about an hour and cut into bars. Makes about 12.
*Don’t feel like you can’t make these if you don’t have all the right seeds or whatever. You can use anything you have on hand and they’ll be just as good. Add chocolate chips or something if you’d like them a bit sweeter, but I think they are sweet enough as is.
Must get on this.
Recipe 31/51 from, The Beauty Detox Solution! In the words of Kimberly Snyder, “[…] lasagna doesn’t have to contain oodles of dairy cheese, processed starch and meat to taste amazingly yummy!” Glowvirna concurs. 1. SOME of the individual ingredients for the marinara sauce (tomatoes, white onion, garlic), “ricotta cheese” (lemon juice, water, bragg liquid aminos, sea salt, garlic, pine nuts), and “parmesan cheese” (walnuts, nutritional yeast, Italian seasoning, sea salt). 2. The blended up version of the ingredients. 3. The layering process. 4. The end result (minus my smiling face of accomplishment).
