I've seen a fair amount of fat liberation activists explain that they have always been fat, they're not about to stop, and that's natural and beautiful and fine. That's an incredibly important message.

What I've seen less - and what I want to remind people of - is this: if you've become fat, that's also natural and beautiful and fine.

When you're a fat person who has been thin in the past, that comes with its own brand of shaming. People take your history of thinness as proof that you don't have to be fat. You often fear the look of disappointed surprise in the eyes of someone you haven't met since you were thin. People try to determine "what happened". They don't see your fat body as just you, but as a sort of symptom that isn't part of you.

Becoming fat is not a tragedy, it's not a sign of failure, it's not a bad or shameful thing. The thin you is not the Real you. You are always real and always worthy of freedom, respect and peace. You are allowed to be fat no matter how or when you became fat.

I did not hit the self-destruct button! I was silenced! I’m officially an INTERNET FUGITIVE! this is my initial post just getting the word out, sorry if it’s a bit rushed and panicky - I’m trying not to get too worked up over it and just get this out there as efficiently as possible, but I’m the user behind @fatliberation. I am posting this from my feed1sm community blog, which was initially a safe haven for me to reach directly to the feed1st community without the scrutiny of non-feed1sts. luckily, it was not attached to the account that got terminated. go figure! I’ve sent an appeal request to tumblr, but I am doubtful that my blog will be reinstated because feed1sm is officially against tumblr’s community guidelines. yes, this is discrimination. here’s why feed1sm is not a fucking eating disorder.

obviously, I’m in extreme distress over this, because I did not have any of my work backed up. I’m devastated to have lost the hundreds of asks sitting in my inbox, the lists of resources I’ve compiled, and the six years worth of work in the form of replies and essays.

I know that much of my work is still out there on each of your individual blogs as reblogs. I might eventually try to organize a combing operation for specific posts so that some of it can be saved.

I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I will send updates from this blog. I will most likely make my own website with a domain that I own, but it will take me awhile. as many of you know, I’ve worked through a brick wall of deep-rooted shame to get to this point, so my blog being terminated on the account of promoting a culture of harm has caused my brain to backslide into shame-land. I’m experiencing anxiety and doubts about my character that haven’t come up in years. this termination happened during a time where I was taking a break from posting because my mental health was already on unstable ground. so it all kind of came crashing in on me. I’m okay. my friends are here for me. I know that it will take me a minute to get back up from this, but I am not going anywhere.

first my credentials: i’m physically disabled (wheelchair user, chronic pain, spasms in extremities, muscle weakness, numbness and atrophy in all limbs, seizures, etc) i’m an ex SW and i used to work at an adult store (trying to get rehired again pray for me pls)

pillow forms:

my fave is the liberator wedge, but there’s a lot of shapes. can be used in a variety of ways to ease strain.

hand harnesses:

extremely helpful if you can’t grip for long periods of time. just like regular harnesses, you can fit it with a toy and use it on yourself or a partner.

hands free toy holder:

suuuper helpful if you can’t grip at all/if you’re like me and can’t stop your hands and arms from doing as they please. can be used on yourself or a partner.

intimacy chairs:

usually used by people with paralysis but also helpful for profound muscle weakness and if you can’t hold yourself up/produce motion reliably

sleeves:

generally most useful if you have a penis, fantastic if you don’t have steady hand motion but can grip semi reliably.

mount/toy mount:

these have a ton of variety. you can get ones that are a pillow with a spot for a toy, or ones that act more as a sling for your body (and can be used with toys or partners)

and remember these are only a couple! if you are disabled and struggling to be intimate in any way, there is a tool out there that may very well help you!!!

Idk who needs to hear this but if you're on the fence with gaining, if you like stuffing but are afraid of the effects, if you want to be fat when you're horny but get "post nut clarity", just do it. Just gain weight. Will you be insecure? Yes, but I promise you will have insecurities at your lowest weight as well. Even your ideal perfect body comes with insecurities. You might as well make yourself happy by eating food you like and being full, and if you don't 100% love the body that comes with it, that's okay too. It's a body made out of love rather than hating yourself into being thin. You can learn to love yourself over time, or you can just exist! Your body is the least interesting thing about you and being fat likely won't be as noticeable as you fear.

Insecurities are always bound to appear because we live in a society that's not only fatphobic, but also racist, colorist and misogynistic. And even if you fit into the ridiculous standards, it's always a constant chase of "perfection" the insecurities will never disappear just like that, it's something that must be worked through the mind

So might as well build a body that feels more like home to you, rather than chase something that someone else likes.

it goes against established beauty standards. It celebrates fatness not just in the more socially acceptable "curvy" version, but in all its glory, with large hanging bellies, stretch marks, double chins etc.

it's anti-capitalist. It's about transforming your body in a way that might render it "useless" to the exploitative capitalist system. It's about putting comfort before efficiency, "laziness" before productivity.

it challenges our deepest unconscious beliefs about health and moral goodness. Many people don't realize that they think of "healthy" as "morally good". It's the root of fathpobia: believing that fat people are inherently unhealthy, and believing that being unhealthy is automatically a moral failing. As if eating a salad was virtuous. Feedism sticks a middle finger to that.

it exposes the whole diet industry as a massive cash grab it is.

feedism challenges our perception of autonomy and what is a "valid" choice to make. Many people like to say that they are radically pro-choice and that as long as these choices don't harm others, people are entitled to do whatever they want with their bodies. But in reality, many people object when they see others make radical changes to their bodies. We see it with transphobes, and we see it with people who treat feedists badly. Even within feedism, there is some opposition towards more extreme versions of this kink - but an informed choice to transform your body in a way you see fit is a valid human choice. Nobody should choose for you what you can do with your body.
