The different realms + their functions
(Yes, my rewrite earths structure is slightly based off of the “I eat pasta for breakfast” universe lol)
These are areas where in which humans group close together, towns, cities, basically anywhere that has a high enough population for roads to be paved. Why? Because laws are more affective in the areas, and of course, laws are only applicable to humans. Of course, there are areas that phase into the midrealm, a great example is the Appalachian Mountains (people live there, but they’re not close enough together, the midrealm might cross over at points). The same might happen to small towns and farmhouses or places that are technically human territories but are without human presence (the desert).
Laws straight up don’t work here, and beings of all types can exist, including humans actually! Most people in the midrealm are nomadic, and despite being lawless, it’s relatively peaceful because of an unwritten attitude of “don’t start stuff, if you do, you better be able to finish it.” Most of the Creepypastas that I write spend a few years in the midrealm (running from the law), then they get offered a place at the mansion. Jeff and Toby being the two exceptions, this is because:
1) Slenderman was testing the range and precision of his influence with both boys, he already had notice of them.
2) Because both would be reckless in the midrealm and might get themselves killed.
Jane and Liu being at the mansion is an entirely different thing, Liu is a cop (later turns to a private detective after character development) and Jane is a government agent who is supposed to keep the mansion in check and delivers mission plans to Slenderman. This is also why Jane can’t kill Jeff, despite wanting to as revenge, she’s been given a no kill order and understands it’d be counterintuitive to take out the most experienced guy on the team.
There’s a ton more, but all you need to know is that paranormal stuff is common in the midrealm as opposed to paranormal activity being dampened in the human realm.
While the mansion is technically within this realm, the mansion itself is of the eldritch realm.
Some are born Eldritch beings, others earn the title through enough power whether it be gained through alliances or sheer brute force.
Slenderman and Zalgo were born Eldritch, much of my writings will focus on them, but there will be writing about the rest of the Eldritch world too.
Slendermans territory is actually very limited, but versatile, his mansion is able to teleport, and he’s made many alliances, so he’s able to stay on his allies lands.
Zalgos territory is the exact opposite, it’s unmoving, but why would it need to? His territory is BIG! I write about what it looks like in my first teaser.
Eldritch beings have full control of the environment of their territory, they can conjure storms, they can create earthquakes, they can make thick fog, it’s up to them really! If they’re powerful enough, they can have other beings do their bidding, this is why Zalgo has children and why Slenderman recruits pastas + proxies.
If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask! I love answering questions about my rewrite, particularly about the setting or plot line details.
