And one thing out of all the other flaws that bother me beyond repair is the fact that we know NOTHING about the player.
Personally I have taken the matter into my own hands and made my own version of the player for fun using what I know of the game and I'm here to throw it at you.
My version of the player originally started to work for playtime CO cause they had recently been given their little brother to take care of and they needed the money badly. Originally Elliot was against the idea of hiring them because the player had little to no experience with working at a factory/in a big company it wasn't till the player begged him explaining how they had a kid to care for and no other job would take them that Elliot changed his mind.
Now the player was nothing more than an errand runner they delivered coffee, papers ect and from time to time they were used as a test audience for new attractions in the factory they even filled in for playcare workers when they called out sick or ...'.quite without notice' they were a multipurpose employee but at the start were kept unaware of what the business was really doing.
Now as a side note I would like to imagine that they did know about the play care since Elliot doesn't seem like he wanted to hid it to start with and cause he allowed the player to use it as a day care for their brother while they worked! The player thought highly of Elliot at the start but never got along with Leith Pierre mostly cause he was an asshole and tended to talk down to the player.
Moving on though the player kept this job up for a while and slowly became a well known employee having friends in just about every department that the employees lower on the food chain had access too. It wasn't untill Elliot died that the player started to get involved in the bigger stuff. After Elliot dies Leith Pierre takes over the factory and decides that the player could be a good asset for him.
At that point the player gets called into his office and Leith Pierre explains to them that they would now be running errands for the higher ups, and that theses jobs unlike their others are very ... sensitive and are meant to be kept secret. No matter what they see, no matter what they hear they must keep it secret they are also not allowed to ask questions and if they are unable to do that then everything this company has been giving them and their brother will be stripped from them (including the protection that I will get into later). Now the player who was unaware of how dark this shit was gonna get agrees they just figured it was company secrets or sells numbers or something and they could handle that as long as they got paid.
It didn't take long for the player to realize their mistake. In fact it took just one day, one day they were told to take some papers to a worker who worked on the lower levels of the company and at first this caught the player off cause like lower leves??? Its a toy factory what could they need with lower levels ????
But the player just shrugged it off and made their way down- and after a lot of annoying interactions with some electrical systems and employees they made it where they needed to be. The player dropped off the players and was going to leave untill they heard the voice of a kid- a voice they recognized from their time working with the kids. They stop in their tracks and turn around catching sight of a little room off in the side of the office the only thing sperating the two rooms being a thing of one way glass. They scan the room behind the glass but don't see a kid- just a toy in the middle of the floor? The thing looked live- and it didn't seem to be enjoying it. The player then asks the worker what's going on and the worker who assumes that like everyone else the player knows what's going on goes on to explain the experiment they were currently running like it was the most natural thing in the world.
The player is terrified by what they've been told and it's almost to terrible to believe so before they go back to Leith Pierre to ask what the fuck was happening they ask the worker the name of the kid- once they find that out they go down to playcare and ask around if anyone had seen that specific kid. The kids told them no that they left in the morning or something and the adults avoid the questions all together. After that failure they go to Leith Pierre
They walk into his office and simply ask 'what the fuck?' and Pierre almost expecting this just sighs and tells them everything and explains to them that while he was willing to let it slide this time any more questions or 'nosey behavior ' will result in punishment. Player tries to start to argue that what's happening is terrible but Leith Pierre cuts them off stating something along the lines of "unless you want your brother to become next on my list you will continue to be a good little lackie and do as you are told with no argument or qeustion you made an agreement and if you break it I will strip you of everything"
From then off player is a knowing active part in all that the company is doing a loyal lap dog if you will. They helped round up the kids, delivered supplies to thoses who needed it, even took part in some of the experiments acting as an assistant the toys saw their face in some of their darkest times. But don't go feeling sorry for them because at some point they lost the plot.
After a bit the little brother gets into an accident in playcare and ends up dieing. The player is devastated completely shattered and at that point goes into auto pilot. Do they quite? No they didn't even talk to Leith Pierre about it they instead kept working. They keep getting a paycheck off the pain and suffering of the kids in the factory for YEARS long after the brothers death.
Now they did miss a lot of work tho guilt ate at them worst some days then most and they had to take off because they weren't able to get themselves out of bed. And that's actually how they missed the hour of joy.
Sorry I know that's a lot I was rambling. I know it's not that well put together I'm still working on the timeline honestly.
But I leave you with some last fun facts! Like for example the players little brothers favorite toy was bunzo bunny he loved that thing and player would get him merch when they could
Player can't see that toy without thinking about their brother which kinda sucks when they go to play music memory in the start of the game.
