Anyway, rwby is great and people should just give it a chance.
Maybe they'll like it, maybe they won't, that's fine, but it still deserves a fair chance
People, I sat on RWBY for *years*, aware of it but never really checking it out due to the early season animation and some of the goofier scenes.
Then I watched it, and I'm not exaggerating, it changed my life.
I am *totally invested* in this story about four brave, damaged young heroines finding and helping to heal each other as they struggle with having the weight of a remarkable, epic world thrust onto their shoulders.
And it's sapphic coded as all hell.
I was a relative latecomer to the show getting into it just as Volume 6 ended and seeing a Tumblr mutual posting about it.
Once I watched it all the way through I was hooked.
The person above isn't exaggerating, it changed my life too. I've never had a media inspire me like it has. Those four girls, so different, all traumatized by life but still holding on to hope, love, friendship, family (found or otherwise) as the way to save the world are simply amazing.
You can watch it and decide it's not for you and that's fair. There are plenty of shows that haven't resonated with me but I think you owe it to yourself to try it and not just take other people's opinions as fact.
Personally, the earlier volumes have what I consider a "low on skill, high on heart" kind of charm to them. There's clearly a lot of foibles with how they animate in Poser and pace their story but each chapter never felt like it wasn't being done with a lot of soul.
Any piece of media can be polished to what's consider professional standards with all of the budget, all of the bells and whistles. But it needs love. Even when corporate gets way too hands on, I can tell when something is being made with that special ingredient.
And that's what drew me to also RvB despite the Blood Gulch Chronicles being arguably worse in quality than early RWBY. These guys loved what they were doing and that shone through past all the limits of machinima.
It's why a lot of stuff that Weebs may call "trash" or "mid" or "low tier" can often be my jam. What they see as an easy target for ridicule, I see as something honest. Those stories take the Valerie Frizzle approach:
"Take chances, make mistakes, get messy."

The Marvels (2023)
Just watched The Marvels. I don’t care what other people think about it, the trios really flies higher, further and faster. The humour, the fun, the intergalactic journey was lovely and surprising. Every second of the movie was👌🏻.
Besides power-swapping plot, the chemistry and teamwork between the Carol, Kamala and Monica really grabbed my attention. And Kamala really steals the show 🔥
Overall, it’s a wonderful Captain Marvel sequel. It’s has a heartfelt, character-driven, incredibly amusing and action-packed plot.
