Ok so what I’m assuming is that he steals crystals to help power up his gear (which appears to be attached to his body by tubing, which can be removed based off of some art by Soda where you can see the port in his shoulder area) and Blackrock does not like that. And since Coil is a Playgrounder they’re now on the verge of war with each other

Also, his horn is broken and has a crystal growing out of it. It (the horn) doesn’t glow during his phinisher, and there’s art of half of his face being covered in the crystal, so it could be akin to Vinestaff’s curse.

Okay, you need to make sure you play this game at some point. Maybe not today or anything, because you’ll need about thirty minutes and a serious willingness to understand how it works, but - it’s so worth it. Loopy - a very simple but useful tool to show how systems interact with each other and how things can self-propagate.
