Trying to reverse engineer what that Scourger actually knows about Caleb just from Matt’s reactions and what she said, my thoughts are:

She knows Astrid, or at least knows of her (there can’t be that many Scourgers, so this makes sense)

She’s heard of Bren. So he’s been known to Scourgers in the 16 years he’s been gone, either by terrible reputation or as a cautionary tale of failure

I’m inclined to think it’s the second thing, because the minute the Scourger sussed out that she was talking to “Bren,” she became dismissive of him and tried to intimidate him. I think it’s highly likely, from her perspective, that he’s a “weak” person who couldn’t hack it doing what she does. That bright and almost mocking “welcome back” weren’t the words of someone who respected the person they were talking to, in my opinion

She seems very resigned to her fate, but if she does manage to escape, I do think she’s very much going to tell Trent/her superiors that the missing Bren is now working with the Dynasty. Which would be bad.

Something I’m worried about is the possibility that, through the Scourgers’ collective knowledge of Bren as some sort of cautionary tale of failure, she might actually know more about what happened at the asylum and why he was held there for so long than he does

i’m still just barely getting over liam’s accent change for zemnian - like i know he’s done it before but just briefly, nothing like this, and its just SUCH A COOL CHOICE to have both his accent change and to not use filled pauses (um, ah, etc) when he speaks his native language and there are so many cool reasons to do it - like, is it because he’s tapping into Vollstrecker Caleb or is it because Common is a second language and sometimes he needs those filled pauses to remember the right word? Is it both? Neither? aaaaaaaa

marvel is disney’s forever cash cow! it appeals to children, teens, and sweaty adults! it’s all quite loud and colorful, with the same safe formula every time, but with different directors and tweaks to make it whatever the fuck memorable each time. plus the reliance on violence to push the plot will give them those dank US military checks until explosions go extinct. truly we live in horrific times but i don’t really care

Justin and Griffin McElroy’s Best Polygon Game Overviews

[not “best” in terms of giving good game overviews, “best” in terms of McElroy hilarity]

Who’s Your Daddy? - it’s a game where one player is a baby trying to kill themselves by drinking bleach, drowning in bathtubs, etc. while the dad tries to baby proof the house and keep the baby alive. hilarity ensues.

I Expect You To Die - Griffin is a little tipsy and he makes Justin tell him how to play the game, while occasionally actively working against him (Justin is frustrated and charmed by turns).

Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 - Griffin tries to do some car maintenance with Justin on commentary. Griffin doesn’t know how cars work and after a while they stop caring about repairing the cars and it becomes a small mob operation? it’s very fun.

American Truck Simulator - Griffin is bad at being a truck driver. the way they play this one reminds me of monster factory. “Wow, it only costs you $250 to drive the wrong way down the highway! I think for that kind of thrill it’s a-worth it!”

Rust - Griffin and Justin wander around Rust and have some great interactions with other people in the game

Girl’s Club - Griffin is very distressed by the game’s sexism, Justin has a great time picking his dream dates, and dream boys.

Catlateral Damage - this one…is a trip. it’s 23 minutes long and over the course of the video Justin realizes that Griffin is attempting to hold him hostage by refusing to end the video and it becomes a wild battle of wills.

Spooky’s House of Jumpscares - Justin isn’t in this one, but you get to hear Griffin get a little spooked. it involves scared laughter and many distressed “alright. so- alright”s
