Interviewer: Daredevil, how would describe your relationship with Frank Castle
Matt: He's like that 0.01% of germs that won't die from hand sanitiser
All the other Viltrumites are scared of me—yeah, I wonder why…
Batman, having just met the new teen vigilante from New York: *giving a lecture about how Frank 'lemme tell you something' Castle shouldn't be allowed to act as a vigilante*
Tamand’r 'Daredouble' Hoyle, known Frank enthusiast and professional PunisherEnabler™: how interesting—
The Team: uhh we can't mansplain, manslaughter, or manipulate our of this one!
Tamand'r: *cracks knuckles* manwhore it is *calls Matt Murdock*
Haven't watched the first Avatar movie in a hot minute, but I'm pretty sure this is how it when with Jake meeting the Omatikaya clan
I love how Odin applies his C+ parenting skills to all his problems.
Got a powerful artifact that you can't risk falling into the wrong hands? Send the Tesseract to Midgard.
You're having communication problems your children? Send them to Midgard, that should straighten them out.
If I had a nickel for every time Odin send one of his children to Midgard, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice. And I don't know what's funnier, the fact that he solves all his problems via sending them Midgard or that it works. At least 3/4 times.
This is if we're counting the What If...? episode where Hela is banished, and novel "Loki: Where Mischief Lies" which is at least softcore cannon to the MCU in my opinion. Spoilers: Loki didn't really learn anything, it just pushed him further into the petulant teenaged rebellion stage.
The Loki series is what Supernatural season 15 wanted to be. They are very similar narrative-wise with the concept of free will, whether it was by He Who Remains or Chuck, the Biblical God.
Both Loki and the Winchester brothers play very similar roles trying to seize control of their narrative, ending the cycle their absent father began, and learning to tell people you love them before it’s too late.
But what happens in Supernatural is they shoot God with a gun and kill every single character.
Truly an unparalleled media experience.
Meanwhile Loki makes the ultimate sacrifice, giving up his own freedom so others might have theirs. Burdened with glorious purpose.
It's like poetry, it rhymes
I've tried to write a YJ fic at least twice before. Neither turned out very good, but while watching Daredevil: Born Again I the idea of "What if Young Justice was a DC/Marvel crossover". Specifically, a crossover where it is just Marvel's New York.
Every single cult, villain, and morally gray weirdo is located in NYC. There's an alien invasion every second week. Ninja turtles are in the sewers. The Sinister Six is up to something. A well-known criminal has been elected to office, whereupon he does away with due process.
It's a trying time for Tamand'r Hoyle. She just wants to do her homework and pass junior year.
I wanted to explore how would a young vigilante be affected by the Punisher becoming an unwitting icon to corrupt cops and balancing that with Daredevil's Justice System? Neither of them has walked in her shoes. As a woman or a person of colour. Also how finding solace in the YJ team helps her find her way, while still doing her own thing. Plus, she needs friends her own age. (Her uncle said so.)
Key points:
(I'm really just writing this to myself as a reminder)
Tam's goes to school in Gotham and is dating Robin out of costume but doesn't know it. (This is a point of conflict).
Adopted Superboy as her brother, due to them both sharing a past in CADMUS and being half Kryptonian/half Tamaranean respectively. Also asks: "Superman, are you a deadbeat?"
Wally is her punching bag
There's a minority component she shares with Miss Martian that they bond over
Is chill about Artemis going to Gotham Academy because she doesn't live there either. Why's its sus if she's coming from Star City? What this? You got questionable family member? Me too sis. Batman's breathing down my neck because the Punisher is basically my uncle.
Has also adopted Aqualad as her brother. He's less broody about it than Superboy.
*inserts meme from archive*
I have so many thoughts to write down and no way to make them cohesive
Anyway
This is the cover for now. If you're interested, We Are Made of Star Stuff is on wattpad.
While watching Zohran Mamdani's speech, I can't help - as a nerd who doesn't live anywhere close to NYC - if and/or how the writers of Daredevil: Born Again might use this real life event in their fictional show.
A well-known New York criminal has been elected to office, whereupon he does away with due process.
But Mamdani knows a really good lawyer
"Fuck you." "Oh, I don't get paid enough for that sweetheart."

We got this new guy at work. He’s the opposite of ‘the unemployed friend’. He’s a bus boy, a checkout chick, and the Uber eats guy. He's probably overqualified too.

upcoming works/fic drabble
Artemis Jay is a character I have been trying to write for a long time but without the ability to do so. Really this book is a biproduct of me binge watching at least three Rambo movies, a hyper-fixation on the Cold War, and Sunrise on the Reaping, which provided me with an example of how to portray the use of propaganda on the page.
It's this author's special interest at the moment.
There is going to be focus on propaganda in media in this book since I try to give each of my works an overarching theme to focus on. And somehow DC/Mavel fics are the easiest way to do that.
The Knowhere Girl focuses on domestic violence in Australia, immigrant families, and generational trauma.
We are Made of Star Stuff has themes of police brutality and how if affect the oc while she a young vigilante trying to look after her community
The Last Avenger deals with grief and loss, and the looming sense of your own mortality
The Ballad of Fallen Jedi and Angels goes into the religious undertones in Star Wars and how regular people would perceive it. Also, colonization and a metric ton of original world building to explain the existence of Uno cards in universe
A Walk in the Green Light will center around the Vietnam War, the Winter Soldier Investigations, the Civil Rights Movement, and Cold War propaganda, because some of this book takes place in the 60s-70s, at least in some flashbacks and explored through Artemis as a woman out of time. I don't know as much about the War on Terror so most of what I mention will be from The Punisher (2017).
The MCU has always felt a little hollow on a few fronts, which brings me to a couple gripes I have with Cap: Winter Soldier. It's ugly. The visuals are desaturated, grey and really unappealing. Bucky makes ups for it though, since he spends 90% of the film aura farming. Lol. But another major issue I have is the characterisation of HYDRA. In the MCU, HYDRA is portrayed as a very clearly fascist organisation, but my issue is that they don't have any clearly defined ideology other than being a hollow stand-in for Nazis without any specific markers of fascism or any real political philosophy beyond vague ideas of domination and a perfect society. It's more of a symbolic evil than a material threat, when really the film should be about how Captain America is forced to confront the corruption within the American Government or at least within SHIELD. By the end of the movie, he does decide to dismantle SHIELD, but it only happens after he realises that HYDRA was behind everything, that there was a secret moustache twirling bad guy that is the reason SHIELD is having all of these issues.

WRITING TIPS ❀
these are just for newer writers and people who wish to improve. feel free to reblog or comment to add your own thoughts! (❀´ ˘ `❀)
# 1 — grammar, punctuation, and use of em dashes, semi colons…
grammar helps get your point across, and making your writing easier to follow. people use em dashes (—) to show interruption; many professional writers use this as well. it helps add emphasis and replace commas.
Example: “He was the last person I expected— yet there he stood.”
USE OF COMMAS
correct example: “Let's eat, (insert name)!” incorrect example: “lets eat (insert name!)” — this sounds more like cannibalism, the use of commas are very important!
USE OF SEMI COLONS!
semi colons! many people don't know when or how to use semi colons (personally, I'm still learning). you can use it when two closely related independent clauses: example: “He wanted to run; she wanted to fight.” or use can use it to separate items! example: “I packed a toothbrush, toothpaste, and sunscreen; a towel and swimsuit; and enough snacks to last me a week.”
USING GOOD GRAMMAR DOESN'T EQUAL AI just because you know how to use em dashes and semicolons doesn't mean you're using ai. it means you're a writer who cares about clarity. write with confidence, and let your voice shine through!
# 2 — dialogue, spelling, and word choice!
to make character dialogue sound more human, use contractions, such as: “I'm”, “you're”, “It's”, etc. it makes it flow better compared to “I am”, “you are”, “It is”, etc. characters can interrupt each other, trail off and talk in fragments!
example:
stiff: “I am going to bake cookies, it is going to taste great.”
natural: “I'm gonna bake cookies, its going to taste great!”
feel free to search up synonyms! they're words with similar meanings that can make your writing more interesting.
instead of HAPPY → cheerful, joyful, ecstatic, blissful, content
instead of SAID → exclaimed, whispered, muttered, shouted, declared
these are great for avoiding repetition, creating variety in your writing, adding subtle shades of meaning. but also don't force yourself to use big fancy words— sometimes simpler is better.
HOMOPHONES + WORD CHOICE!
you're vs your
— you're = you are | “you're amazing!”
— your = possessive, something belonging to you | “is this your jacket?”
there vs their vs they're
— there = a place or direction | “we went there last night.”
— their = something belonging to someone | “that's their house.”
— they're = can be replaced with they are | “they're gonna love these cookies!”
# 3 — PROOF READING + READING OUT LOUD!
reading your work out loud helps catch awkward phrasing. when you read in your mind your brain automatically fills gaps and corrects mistakes. but when you read out loud, you're forced to slow down and actually hear the flow of your words. when i was in school i would struggle with reading out loud and speaking in general— so i would get a text-to-speech tool to read it for me. even now i struggle with talking and there is no shame in using a tool to help you!
# 4 — USE OF TAGS!
tags will be your best friend! they help readers find your work. include fandoms, characters, ships, and even tone or theme tags (#fluff, #angst). that being said, be careful with what you tag. if its a dick grayson x reader fic, and only involves them, don't mistag and add “john constantine” people can get very angry and report or send hate, so please keep that in mind.
#5 — ENGAGE WITH THE COMMUNITY!
reblog other peoples stuff, leave comments, and respond to asks! tumblr is a social platform, and making friends is just as fun as writing! always be kind and remember the person you see on the screen is human, we make mistakes and have our own personal struggles.
#6 — TAKE BREAKS!
burnout is a very real thing. write at your own pace, and remember— real life comes first. don't feel pressured to produce content constantly; its okay to take a step back and recharge.
#7 — CELEBRATE EVERY MILESTONE + BE KIND
whether its your first follower or your hundredth, every bit of love matters. let yourself be proud of the progress you make. not every post will blow up— and that's okay! you're learning, growing, and finding your style. that's worth celebrating all by itself. every word you write brings you closer to the writer you want to be. even if it's messy or needs editing, it's still progress.
#8 — DON'T LET COMPARISON STEAL YOUR JOY
its easy to feel like your writing isn't good enough compared with bigger writers. remember: every writer started somewhere— you're on your own journey, don't let comparison take that.
#9 — AVOID INFO DUMPS!
instead of dumping all the back story or world building at once, stretch it out! info dumps can be too much and make people no longer interested when they already know everything by chapter one.
#10 — KEEP A NOTEBOOK OR WRITING TEMPLETE
personally, i have a notebook— although i don't use it often. however, i do have a format that i use for my fanfics. it looks something like this, using my MUSE damian wayne x reader fic as a example:
Title: MUSE (often this is my last step)
Summary: a quick 2-3 sentence pitch of what the story is about. example: damian is facing a art block when he meets Y/N a newer artist who quickly became his muse— whether she wanted to be or not.
Settings: where does the story take place? (e.g gotham city, modern day, fantasy world, different au.)
Premise/ Hook: whats the core idea or conflict? example: damian wayne is an artist who secretly uses the reader as his inspiration, but things get twisted as she attempts to leave.
i also tend to add pieces of dialogue or sentences to keep the story going where i want.
Theme/ Tone: is it fluff, angst, a dark romance?
POV: first person (I/ Me/ My)? second person (You/ Your)? third person (He/ She/ They)?
this is what i use, but feel free to deviate or add more!
#11 — WEBSITES TO MAKE YOUR WRITING LOOK COOLER!
JSFIDDLE — to make your words more colourful! you write what you want in the first box, then hit run. copy the code in the lower box and create a post. go to the settings for the post, change it from RICH TEXT to HTML. then paste and hit preview!
COOL SYMBOLS — this is what i use!
