Started re-reading tgcf and remembered how much I love his character design
Thinking about that bit in the extra chapters where Jin Guangyao posits that Jiang Cheng is holding onto the flute because if Wei Wuxian ever resurrects he is going to go straight for reclaiming his iconic weapon because 1) it's unbearably and grief inductively sweet, and 2) literally not true.
Wei Wuxian returned to this mortal plane, picked up the first stick he saw, punched a hole in it, shrugged and said "Good enough". He then proceeded to spend the whole series paying the most off-key dogshit flute music imaginable on the cultivator world equivalent of a Party City kazoo.
