genuinely desktop linux will never see mass adoption until some huge mega corporation or future socialist state produces a centralised out of the box version that comes packaged with physical devices. 99% of users do not want to do research on different forks and their strengths they want a box that turns on and shows them the button for the internet

Yeah you can just buy a laptop, turn it on, pick a username+password, open firefox to browse the web, miss chrome, go to the app store, and install chrome and and steam and discord and such. No one tells you to do this because it saves you 59 dollars if you buy lenovo and 0 dollars if you buy system 76 and everyone in the linux community knows "spend 800 dollars on a computer you have to use a third party launcher to play fortnite and genshin on" is a very hard sell and we all want to save you money and make you impressed by watching a computer that windows made slow come back to life.

Also we think choice is good.

Lazia. She's a cleric. Our wonderful DM lets us cast spells if we're out of spell slots for levels of exhaustion equal to the required spell level. And the group needed Mass Healing Word (3rd Level Spell = 3 Levels of Exhaustion)! She's sweating and crying blood. :)

This was her afterwards flopped on a direwolf that came to help.

Someone had a very good question about how my style really varies wildly!! (Thanks to @underangedrambles for asking!!)

So first of all, I'm a thousand years old. I'm middle aged and have been drawing since I was a kid. I'm "classically trained" like I know how to do portraits and still lifes and stuff. But I'm heavily influenced by anime, cartoons, and comics. Deviantart used to have a bunch of my old art but I deleted my acct when they fed it all to AI. And I also nuked most of my posts on here during a bad brain time. But I still have older stuff on my personal website where you can see some of my old watercolor stuff + how there's a range there:

I'm a working artist, like I work for a company. I used to do freelance, sometimes I'll do commissions. And a lot of artists that work this way learn to be versatile. Most artists you see online, especially the successful ones have a very, very specific style. This is so that their work is easily recognizable! It also helps streamline their process so they can make art more quickly, with less stress.

I...don't. I like to try different shit. (This is from a self-esteem issue that I have to be competent in as many things as possible lmao, it's not something to be admired, most artists are happier with having their own set style that they use for their personal art)

Also, sometimes the look of a picture is determined by the purpose. Really I should have done a sketch with flattish color for all of these. That's the neatest, clearest way to give a character reference, in my opinion. It's also the fastest for me to do, sketch and flattish color.

But I wanted to try out watercolor brushes for Davian, I wanted to paint when I did Sergei, and with Tatyana holy shit i struggled with what the final image should look like. I bothered so many people like "what about this. What about this?" I wasn't sure if I should paint it or not, if I should make really clean line art or not, like with heavy black areas? I restarted so many times.

In the end I went nuts and just painted it, I think because I wanted to put it in a mirror and felt like it would be more effective?

Hopefully you can see a through line here that shows how it's still the same person even if it's flat color, different kinds of semi-shaded to more painted, etc. all with the same starting point but with different ends.

Here's a video of me painting Sergei. I wanted to paint that day. I was using a photo for reference but it turned out to be holding me back, it went way better once I just tossed the ref and went for it. I had a really hard time with it. Tumblr only lets me post one video per post but if you check out my instagram (same handle) there are more process videos there.

So a lot of artists are like this! But social media really incentivizes having a specific, recognizable style, like it's your brand. It does mean AI can't copy my style though so there's that??? It's just not unique enough or consistent enough. It's all me though!

(I also go back and forth between CSP and Procreate, Sergei I could get a video of because I did it all on procreate. If there's flatting involved, I have to use CSP.)
