Lisa Marie’s book is a good read. It shows her life growing up without her dad because her dad was her safe space and her non existent relationship with Priscilla. Priscilla tried to abort her and miscarry several times so basically she never wanted Lisa
In fact there’s a lot about Priscilla thats been dug up actually. For one she said the stuff she wrote in her own autobiography about Elvis weren’t true and Elvis‘s other family members and crew have said Elvis never wanted to marry her but he was forced to by his manager and Priscilla’s dad or else her dad was going to blackmail him
Priscilla Presley honestly deserves the level of disdain and infamy that Joe Jackson has received for over 30 years, tbh. I have yet to see anyone refer to that woman as a monster. I know Lisa's relationship with her was incredibly toxic and probably abusive, at least emotionally. I have no doubt that this was the main factor contributing to a lot of the problems that she had in her life. This is also a woman who didn't stand by her daughter's side when Lisa told her that her own boyfriend had been sexually abusing her. What kind of mother allows that to happen to her child???? What kind of mother puts dick over the well-being of their children??? That lets you know everything you need to know about the kind of woman that she is. This may be another reason as to why she didn't like Michael. She might have seen him as the definitive way for Lisa to escape from her tight, toxic grip for once and for all. Poor Lisa.... :/
I love when Clark comes to the Manor or even moves in, and that Bruce would never leave Gotham, but I love the idea of Bruce visiting Clark in Metropolis.
They can barely fit in the kitchen together, but they make it work so they can cook together. Or rather Clark cooks while Bruce is just there and tastes stuff. Because this man can create antitoxin for almost anything, but mixing flour and sugar or putting pasta in the boiling water? That's too complicated!
Clark's couch is nothing like couches in the Manor. It's small, just for one person. Maybe not for one person of Clark's size tho. Clark's legs dangle off the side whenever he falls asleep there.
Bruce is just a tiny bit smaller than Clark, so it's not perfect for him either, but he never complains about how small or uncomfortable the couch is and just snuggles under a blanket handmade by Ma Kent to read a book or watch a movie with Clark.
Whenever Bruce stays the night, he has no fancy night robes to wear, so he steals Clark's hoodies and other clothes. Clark gave him the keys(not that Bruce needs them, the lock on the front door is a joke), so sometimes when Clark comes home from work, Bruce is already there waiting - freshly out of shower, dressed only in Clark's boxers and his hoodie.
They never reach the bed when Clark jumps him every time this situation occurs.
Bruce cleans the place. Nothing major, but he picks up discarded book from the floor and tosses out outdated sticky notes Clark puts everywhere to remind himself of something. Sometimes Bruce leaves another one in the place of the older one, something sweet or simple "I love you" written on it.
Sometimes when Bruce comes to Clark's apartment straight from a business meeting in Metropolis, he looks so out of place in his fancy suit that costed more than three months worth of Clark's rent.
When they both come from a patrol, their suits litter the floor, creating a trail leading either to the bedroom or the bathroom.
Bruce never paid attention to the plants at the Manor, but the ones Clark owns in his apartment? He keeps track of when they need watering and does it whenever Clark forgets. He also swings by to water them when Clark is off planet for a extended period of time.
Actually, Bruce spends a lot of time in Clark's apartment when Clark is gone for long. It makes Bruce miss him less.
And he likes the way Clark's eyes shine with joy when he sees Bruce's been living at his place, waiting for him to return. Like a good housewife.
Clark's apartment may be far from being luxurious or spacious, and it doesn't have a lot of privacy with its paper walls and neighbors everywhere.
It's also in Metropolis, a city Bruce hates.
But it's Clark's. It smells like him, it has his things, it's cozy despite being small, and as long as Clark will live there - it's home.
It’s a little petty, but feeling weird that the version of my post getting the most traction is the sketch and not the full color version, obviously I’m glad people really like it, just a little bummed cuz I really liked the colors of the finished version

I like Aang and Katara as the heart of the show, but Aang and Zuko more as the spirit of the show or something like that. Regardless of how you spell it out, these are definitely the two relationships which the rest of the show is built around. Beyond that, all the show is ultimately about relationships and those are all tied to Aang, whether its Zuko, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Bumi, etc. and so forth. Aang is the protagonist and the connection through which everything else evolves.

Aang: Tibetan Thangka
"Thangkas are traditional Tibetan tapestries that have been used for religious and educational purposes since ancient times! The techniques applied can vary greatly, but they usually use silk or cotton fabrics to paint or embroider on. What you can depict in a Thangka is really versatile, and I wanted to represent things that make up Aang as a character."
Zuko and Azula: Japanese Ukiyo-e
"Ukiyo-e is a style that has been around Japan between the 17th and 19th century, and focused mainly in representing daily life, theater(kabuki), natural landscapes, and sometimes historical characters or legends!
Ukiyo-e was developed to be more of a fast and commercial type of art, so many drawings we see are actually woodblock prints, so the artist could do many copies of the same art!
I based my Zuko and Azula pieces on the work of Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861) one of the last ukiyo-e masters in Japan! He has a specific piece which featured a fire demon fighting a lord that fought back with lighting, and that really matched Zuko and Azula's main techniques!”
Toph: Chinese Portraiture from Ming and Qing Dynasties
"Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) was one of the longest in China! It was also a period where lots of artistic evolutions were happening, especially when it comes to use of colour! There was not a predilection for portraits during this time, but there are a lot of pieces depicting idealized women and goddesses from the standards of the time. For this portrait of Toph, I imagined something that maybe their parents commissioned, depicting a soft and delicate Toph which we know is not what she is about ♥️
Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) was the last Chinese Dynasty to reign before the Revolution. One of the most famous emperors of this period was Qianlong, and he really liked Western art! He commissioned a lot of portraits of his subordinates, and I chose a portrait of one of his bodyguards as a reference for the second Toph portrait, which I believe is much more like how she would want to be represented! The poem on top talks about the bodyguards' achievements during a specific war. I had no time to come up with a poem for Toph, so I just used the same one for the composition!”
Sokka and Katara: Inuit Lithograph
"For a long time, Inuit art expressed itself in utilitarian ways. The Nomadic lifestyle of early Inuit tribes played a huge part in that: most art pieces are carved in useful tools, clothing, or children's toys, small and easy to be transported, and depicted scenes and patterns representing their daily lives!
That changed a lot during the colonization. Since the settling of the Inuit tribes, many art pieces began to be created in order to be exported to foreigns, so they started to sculpt bigger and more decorative pieces.
Lithography, which is a type of printmaking, was introduced to Inuit people by James Houston, that learned the technique from the japanese. The art form was quickly embraced by the inuit, as part of the process is very similar to carving. Prints that are produced by inuit artists are still being sold today!
As lithography is not an old art style and it's still commercially relevant to the Inuit communities, since creating these in 2021 I have been donating regularly to the Inuit Art Foundation, not only all the money I get from selling some prints of these but a bit more, at least once a year. Hopefully, I can increase donations this year!”
Angsty idea that Ozai had Iroh publicly flogged before having him sent to prison. Azula and Zuko are present and Azula notices Zuko's discomfort. She knows Ozai is probably going to see as well, so she manages to pursuade Ozai that Zuko doesn't like being in Iroh's presence, and he has catching up to do on his royal duties anyway, and Ozai dismisses them. Zuko isn't sure how to feel; he feels guilt, but relief and confusion over Azula's gesture.
'He doesn't have any power over you anymore.' Azula says triumphantly.
Iroh seeing himself in Zuko, the first born with a seed of mercy that could be watered and nurtured, hopefully long before a personal tragedy and a heavy cost pulled it up like a bleeding wound. Seeing Lu Ten in the son of his brother.
Ozai seeing Azula as himself, a reflection of what he saw as himself, the talent, the skill, the superiority of the second-born, an extension of himself and raising and molding that into the strenght that he should've bern raised in.

What inspired this piece
Growing up with skin asthma,I was always conscious on how different parts of my skin would be darker, and it would get worse whenever I’d get stressed. Because of that I wouldn’t wear clothes that would show parts of my body which were affected.I was always told to stay out of the sun so my skin wouldn’t get darker, it’s been ingrained to me that the lightness of the skin is something that you need to achieve to be beautiful .
It was only when I got older that I started to appreciate my own skin color.Now I see that it’s perfectly natural. Dark pigmentation is a natural sunscreen.People from the tropics -those who are closer to the equator- are more exposed to the sun and have darker pigmentation which protects us from DNA damage and absorbs the right amounts of UV radiation needed by the body.The differences in our skin color is the body’s response to protect itself.
I’m hoping in the future I’ll fully accept my skin as a part of myself, not something that makes me less my ideal self.
This is my tribute to everyone who’s on a journey of accepting themselves, one step at a time.
